We went this weekend with a party of 12. We were in a time crunch for a morning college graduation ceremony but decided to stop in anyway. Our waitress was Julie and she was by far one of the best waitresses i have had. The food is standard IHOP food but the service alone was over the top fantastic. Basic IHOP, you get hot pancakes, toast, etc. 5 minutes later they bring you butter. It's all cold, then you might get your eggs, later catsup (so all is cold, butter won't melt ect). Breakfast is all they do, why don't they know people melt butter on pancakes, and why do they keep it almost frozen? Seems easy to me, but at least Portland has an IHOP. read more

Stars are all for our server Jaime who was upbeat and super friendly and funny the entire time. The food here is always mediocre, but this time it was drenched in grease which was unappealing. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would! They seated us. A waiter came to our table and told us that he would only be taking our drink order and a different person would be taking our order. So here we are waiting for someone to take our order. I ask a waitress if a waiter/waitress could come and take our order and she said she would get them, 15-20 minutes go by and nobody comes to the table. They just keep walking by our table. We ended up leaving because it was getting pretty ridiculous. Yet there were a group of waiters/waitresses just standing around doing nothing. Once we're walking out a waiter had the audacity to say have a good night. I highly DO NOT recommend this place!! Terrible customer service! read more

The staff is always so friendly, they have plugs at certain tables to plug in when you need to sit and work. Coffee is good and hot and they refill as needed. Average IHOP food. I live there during school semester to study and they're great about checking on me and refilling coffee regardless of how long I sit there working and for that I really appreciate them. Service has definitely improved at this new IHOP. It took awhile for it to come into its own but all's well now. If a meal comes with cocktail sauce or something, you may have to request it. Otherwise a perfectly acceptable IHOP experience. read more

Last time I went here I ordered tea in the morning time and it tasted sour like when tea sits out for long long time and I ordered unsweetened so it takes longer for unsweetened to sour so had to have been at least two days old or more and their food is mediocre really only thing they are really good at it seems is coffee and pancakes read more

There are few places you can go where you get consistently bad service. IHOP is one. Despite recently being remodeled, the food remains subpar and the service the most disappointing around. We were looking for a place to eat lunch while in Portland today so naturally we consulted Yelp. This location had a three star average so we decided to give it a try. After an average dining experience I too will give them three stars. The omelets and pancakes we had were pretty good but it took a long time to get our food. The dining area was fairly clean as well as the bathroom but both could have used a little TLC. read more

Of all the restaurants in Portland, this one could use the most work. The prices are really good, but it's sometimes hard to get over the sticky spots and the food on the chairs. I feel like the food could be better quality too. Also, I can almost never get eggs over medium; always too runny. I understand it's not international house of eggs, but it's a breakfast place, and they don't know eggs? They recently added an egg guide to their menus, and simultaneously an improvement to their eggs. Unfortunately, that lasted but a few weeks before they reverted back to their runny old ways. read more

Had a late breakfast for dinner while in town for a game. Great service and I really enjoyed my breakfast sampler. Husband liked his too but did not enjoy his bacon like I did. Standard fare but was a better IHOP than I have been to in the past. We visited this place opening week and found it very busy but had decent service and a good meal. Three weeks later, four of us visited for a early mourning meal and found the place empty except for the serving staff, who spent most of their time in the back with no one on the floor for extended periods. It took over five minutes to get someone to take our order. After waiting nearly 20 minutes for our food, the manager came out to tell my wife that they were out of the batter for her banana pancakes! They had the rest of the food - which was cold, and expected her to order again while the rest of us ate our cold food. We expressed our displeasure at this act and the poor service overall. I went to this location with a party of 8. The seater informed us of a wait which was expected. However,when she went to seat us,we were told that she could only seat us at separate tables. I asked about pushing two tables together and was told no we can't do that. Waitress walks up to take drink order and asked why we were seated separately. Upon hearing what had happened,she went to a manager and got that fixed. On to the food. Two orders of eggs and bacon with toast and side order of gravy. Not hard,right? Gravy,cold and bacon,undercooked and eggs,just plain hard. And the toast, dripping with oily butter. The manager did take it off the bill. This problem happens every time I have been there. Went there to eat tonight about 8 pm, Horrible service worst ive seen in a while. I came in with 2 others and the place was dead. A bunch of firemen just left when i pulled up that was it. We get told to sit anywhere we'd like. and the waitress leaves us silverware but no menus and asks our drinks, we told her and she left. We were conversing for a few minutes and then realized hello while we wait on our drinks is when we should be looking at menus but since they left none we cant. :( My husband gets up to get some and another man walks in and is seated. We start to look at the menu. A young guy said his name was Roman came back with our drinks right about now and wanted to know if we were ready. I told him no another minute please we just got our menus. We order. Another couple comes in sits and is waiting for service they were also mixed up in conversation before realizing hello theyve been there a while with no menus, but this time there were several workers all in the corner just not even addressing that they came in. The man has to walk to the kitchen door and peek in the door and ask if anyone was working. They basically just goofed off no one recieved proper service the single mans drink never got refilled until he was done eating. There was basically a full staff on a dead night running the clock not paying attention to the few customers that were there. I have waitressed for 15 years now and this was the worse service weve ever gotten. There was a manager looking guy walking aroung aimlessly, if he was a manager he has let that staff run all over him and looked to be goofing off with them in the kitchen. There were more instances during our meal that was just like really... this is ridiculous, but the food I will say was good atleast but my goodness the service was just flat out bad !! read more
