Worst dining experience ever! My partner and I waited 30 minutes just to be seated, even though there were plenty of open tables. The host gave us attitudes and told us to shut our mouths when we asked. Then our server took our order and brought out our food (wrong order) with a wad of gum stuck to the plate When we politely asked for a manager, he took the wad of gum and put it back into his mouth but still did not acknowledge the food was messed up. Our pancakes were the wrong flavor and half the tator tots were missing. Someone must have eaten them! We finally saw the manager (I believe Danny was his name) and when we went to complain, he simply laughed at our story and told us these were considered "white people problems" (mind you Danny is black) This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant and will never come back. Most times my breakfast is just passable ,room temp not hot. Once we went to early and the hash browns had a taste of refrigerator burn . Muffin wasn't toasted for eggs Benny, hardly eatable.we left without eating. Today the elder server was Soo unprofessional. She back talked her manager right in front of us behind her back and we waited 40 mins. For food that had been sitting. We actually had to ask for our food. But my daughter and I still go back . First off, the place smelled amazing and was clean and bright with spacious seating. The menu is large with breakfast and lunch choices,it and it took us a few to decide. The waitress was as sweet and patient as she could be. My friend got the cinnamon stack pancakes, and I chose the pablano omelet. When our order came, the waitress had zipped off before my decrepit brain registered that my order was wrong. The manager was doing rounds at this time and asked if everything was ok. I told her my issue, and she handled it all graciously. Mistakes happen, no biggie. This was a new item on the menu. There is also a pablano poached egg breakfast. It may have been my fault when making the order. I say all this because I did not give 4 stars because of the mix-up, service, or restaurant itself, that was all 5 stars to the max. I was impressed. The ding was because if you order a pablano omlet " stuffed with fire roasted poblano peppers," " Poblano cream, and Serrano pepper's, you have a reasonable expectation of some heat. It was bland. Food and service wasn't good. Had been at the Saco, ME location a few months back and hasn't improved. The hostess was wonderful (she was last time too). Our waiter never came to our table at the end, did see him working other tables in our section. The hostess came by and explained he didn't realize we were his customers and he'll be right over. Makes no sense since we're in his section and he's the only one working those tables. Plus only half the tables in his section had customers. A while later the waitress came by again to ask if he'd been to our table, "no". She took our drink order and brought them to us - 15 mins after we arrive we had drinks. It was not her responsibility and we appreciated that she got them for us. The male waiter eventually came and took our orders. We were waiting again. Seemed taking too long for our food. I'd ordered their breakfast crepe (they use to be awesome). There was no white sauce on top. No hash browns inside of it. The egg wasn't fluffy, look more like a fried egg. Wasn't hot, room temperature. (Last time the bacon was dark brown and black and uneatable, the rest was cooked correctly, said they had a new cook that time, didn't inquire if same cook or new one or someone called out). The crepe was crispy about in inch around, should not be crispy at all. Like pancakes, it shouldn't be be crispy. I ate less than half, not worth bringing home. My friend's cheeseburger, the cheese wasn't soft at all. Maybe the cook forgot the cheese and added it afterwards? My friend brought it home, didn't eat it there. The onion rings were cool as if they sat for a while. The mozzarella sticks were warm, the cheese still had a little pull to them. Other friend had a ham and cheese omelet that was hot. Stopped here after a doctor's visit on the way home with my husband. We were seated immediately and noticed how big and clean the restaurant was. The waitress was super attentive (and looked like a young Jennifer Aniston). I had the quick 2-egg breakfast and my husband got the breakfast sampler. The food came out in a timely manner, was fresh, delicious and filling. The waitress came back a few times to make sure everything was okay. We were very happy and left her a generous tip. When we arrived the place seemed really busy. There were a few parties waiting throughout the lobby and outside in the rain. The wait was estimated at or near 30 mins, which was a while but we were hungry so we did wait. The manager a shorter man, with very short dark hair and a round belly was rude and hostile to people coming in. He wouldn't stop to talk to people or help new comers, he didn't make eye contact and would just pretend people weren't waiting at the host stand. I get it, it's busy but there's no need for that. I overheard him tell the waitress she was getting two tables and her response "oh just great!". When we did finally get seated and turned into the main dining room, there were two tables. Two tables eating, that's it. My partner and I exchanged looks of shock. We each got a breakfast plate and juice. My orange juice was basically just orange colored water, that cost me 4$. Disgusting. The food wasn't terrible, but the best thing about it was the grilled biscuit with jelly. Yum. My partner was not impressed with his burned on the outside hash browns that were uncooked in the middle. I was happy to try the new IHOP. We pulled in and it wasn't busy, so score! Kids eat free 4-10 pm until 9/8/18 so double score. However, the customer service and friendliness was lacking a bit. When we finally did order, our food came out quickly and was pretty good. They did use small plates for the pancakes, and we couldn't flag down our waitress to get bigger plates so we got creative with our syrup situation. I gave three stars because it was an alright experience. I wasn't blown away and I'm sure we'll try it again because my kids are oblivious to any issues and will ask for it again. read more

We were in Biddeford around dinner time and drove around a bit looking for something we could all agree on. We didn't see anything that interested us so we figured, let's go to IHOP, how bad could it be? Sadly, we also used the logic that we'd been to the IHOP in South Portland and it was fine. The food, at its best was meh. My wife's "salad" was three hockey pucks of sliced tomato, laid over a couple of pieces of iceberg lettuce. The dressing was doled out in packets. The chicken noodle soup I ordered is likely the reason why later that evening the chef spent 10 minutes looking for the bowl of dishwater he misplaced. The salad I had was OK and so what my mother-in-law's, despite the fact that the waitress delivered my salad to her and hers to me (announcing the incorrect name as she handed them to use). Since our salads were similar, we didn't even notice until a few bites into them. Yeah, you could argue that we should've noticed sooner. The staff was pleasant, but the waitress never asked why I didn't eat the soup, so minus one on her. The neutral: Perhaps one person seemed happy to be working there but not the person who greeted and sat us. My water has a black floaty. The negative: We waited 40 minutes for our food until the server realized she forgot to put it in. I realize - that was obviously a mistake and one that deserves a comped meal or heavily discounted tab. Instead, we got a 15% discount and still waited for our food. I don't know what I was expecting - I mean, it's IHOP. Last time I ate at IHOP I left with food poisoning and swore them off forever; however, I made this exception to have breakfast with my mother and her business partner...also, this IHOP is 3,000 miles from the one that poisoned me - so I felt like it might be safe. The waitress came quickly to get our drink orders, and it was coffee all around. She brought us a carafe and a dish of cream and let us be...for about two minutes then she was back for a food order. We asked to her to come back twice more, as the menu here is gigantic - there's no possible way unless you're a regular that you're going to easily select an item in just a few minutes. Since it was chicken and waffles which had previously done me wrong, I took my mother's suggestion of the strawberry & cream crepes. I don't love a ton of sweet, syrupy stuff on my food, but the photo appeared to feature only a drizzle so I said 'what the heck, why not?' and went with it. What arrived was crepe-soup. The crepes were not filled, but they were absolutely swimming in a mess of bright red 'strawberry' syrup with a hard to comprehend white layer on top. The strawberries were the kind which live in syrup (I'm nauseated just thinking of it now). ...I don't think I've ever sent a plate back to a kitchen, so I started to take bites. It was sickening-sweet, much more like a desert, but in the morning time. I washed each bite down with coffee, trying to rid my palate of the sugar-slick I was feeding it.
