We were excited to be able to eat indoors once again. But we had to wait outside in the rain for ten minutes, told us they couldn't have more than two people inside waiting at one time. There was NOBODY sitting down inside waiting. Took more than minutes to have a waitress take our order. Took almost an hour to get our food. We were told it was because they messed up on one of the orders. Once received, the biscuits and gravy were cold, not even edible. Tasted like paste!! The cheese on the other order was congealed, cold and the avocado was so unripe and hard, it could not even be cut with a fork. When we complained and declined to eat the terrible B&G entree. They did not even offer to let us order something else. The manager only gave a $5 discount. He was rude and said that was all he could do since the eggs and hasbrowns were consumed. He had NO customer service etiquette manners at all!! He acted like we were an interruption to his day. We will NOT return to this IHOP location any time soon. read more

Friendly people. Short wait times. The menu is varied and extensive. Food is delivered to the table quickly. The place is pretty clean. But the food is what it is. Pretty average to less than. Given those issues, the problem is it's not cheap food. So you're paying a bit of a premium for something that you can get prepared far better and more tasty elsewhere. Really the only reason to eat at IHOP is the say that you ate at IHOP. It's a cool and semi nostalgic brand. read more

I placed an online order earlier today, which I picked up at the restaurant. When I got home and unpacked the food I discovered one of the meals was missing. I called the restaurant up, and the woman described to me what the food I was missing looked like, but I assured her it was NOT in the bag. She asked me what I wanted, and I told her I wanted the food I paid for. So she told me to return to the restaurant and they would remake it for me. When I arrived, they handed me the food they neglected to give me the first time, with no apologies. I am pretty sure it was what they did not put in the bag the first time as it was cold, and there was no "I'm sorry for our mistake" or anything else, just "here is your food." Then she said, "for?", and so said "Celeste", then she goes, "for?", and I said "Celeste", then she says, "your name?", and I said my name again. She goes, "we don't have an order number 4". Celeste definitely doesn't sound like the number 4. I was really nice too, and this girl was pretty rude to me. My family and I just got back from Ihop Silverdale, WA and we had the absolute best experience. They were severely understaffed so the food took a little longer than usual but our server, Nick, more than made up for it. He was very attentive and personable. I tried a new dish (spicy poblano fajita bowl) and when it came out it was the wrong dish and had no spice. Everyone else's dishes were fantastic but I was disappointed in mine. I did let Nick know and he immediately made it right and brought me the right dish, which turned out fabulous. He checked in on us frequently and made sure we had everything we needed. The chocolate mousse pancakes are incredible. With that said, nothing else is. We have tried a few times but the last visit was the icing on the cake. My daughter spilled her water. We were helped by outlet server by tossing a pile of napkins at me and grudgingly wiping the spill with a cloth. Clearly she was put out and despite repeated apologies she didn't say a word. When our food came, the meat on top of my omelet was cold, my husband's omelet was missing ingredients and my daughter had ordered her omelet with Cheddar instead of Swiss cheese and got NO cheese, just an omelet sitting in a lot of liquid from the spinach and mushrooms inside. We cut the omelet open and caught the server to tell her it was made wrong and could we get it fixed. She didn't take the omelet, just left the table, went to the kitchen, came back and said that the cook said there was cheese in it. Clearly there wasn't. She left and came back again with a baggie of cheddar cheese and plopped it on the table. Then she said "Oh I guess I could microwave that for you if you wanted me too". At this point we were so uncomfortable we said no, age what we could and left. I have tried to enter a comment on the corporate web page and it won't let me submit it. That was the icing on the cake. The good - The pancakes are good. The bad - my hubby and I got breakfast for dinner tonight and both of our meals came out with the wrong eggs. They took the eggs and brought back the plates without eggs and told us it would just be a few minutes. It took closer to 10... meaning the rest of our dinner was cold before the eggs arrived. While we waited, the waitress brought us ketchup, and it was covered in something looked like stuffing. Since they didn't serve stuffing, I have no idea what it was. When we pointed it out, the waitress grimaced because it looked so gross and brought us a new one. Then we noticed one of the syrups on the table had a broken lid (totally broken off), and the salt had something gross on top of that! We were very surprised the waitress didn't offer us a discount or a free dessert or something. It really was disgusting, and while my hubby loves their pancakes, this visit will mean this is not a restaurant we will be returning to. We just hope we won't get sick tonight. We enjoy the food but are being forced to dine elsewhere due to the lack of customer service. The manager offers no assistance as this situation repeatedly occurs when we visit. Today the manager was not present but the server called and the solution is for us to go on Google website or call the 800 number. IMy family and I have recently (within the past 3 months or so) made Sunday IHOP visits a regular occurrence. I often try to get my husband and kids to try different, local breakfast spots but am always out voted. Why? As my husband states, "it's the consistency and good service." It's true, when we've been in the service has always been good, but our most recent visit when Nick was our server was by far the best service we've had at any local restaurant lately. He was really helpful and took the time to answer our questions about the new menu (and their "secret" menu) even though they were crazy busy.. and didn't make us feel rushed. Our order was a little off-beat so he went back to check with the cooks not once but TWICE over the span of 20 or so minutes to make sure they got it right. Of course, there was more to the interaction but his sincere kindness and attention to detail is worth a 10 star review alone. Why the 4 star review then? My husband and kids may be over the moon about the food, but I can't think of one dish I've ordered that I'd highly recommend. It's a chain diner that serves up typical diner food, so if you're into local specialties or have strict food restrictions/allergies it may not be the best spot. But if you're looking for a one stop shop to juuust satisfy everybody's cravings, the food is good enough. Went to this restaurant on Wednesday at 1:00 pm. My fellow diner and I ordered pretty ordinary fare, a breakfast combo and a classic burger and fries. It took 25 minutes to get our food....just so you know there were 3 other tables of people who were already served when we arrived. The French fries were less than lukewarm. Maybe I should have sent it back, but I was scared I'd be there all afternoon! We had to ask for sugar for the tea three times. In this "bustling " lunch service (yeah, sarcasm). Let's make a long story even longer. Some background - Growing up in large metro cities there was always a Denny's or IHOP to hang out at any hour of the day and none of these were very difficult to locate or get to. No one ever expected fantastic services or 5 star food. Now being in a small town the task of finding these places became a chore. I often passed the IHOP in Bremerton, but noting barely any vehicles parked outside made me pass on ever entering. Reading reviews I can understand why. Strange as it may seem I missed IHOP. Discovering that a new one would be opening I waited for the "appropriate" new time to pass before checking it out. i.e. I didn't go during the grand opening. So today with no breakfast food in the house I asked the fam if they would like to try the new IHOP out. Instead of dining in we opted for take out which we had done on several occasions at various IHOPs around the USA. Now here comes the review - It was not yet 10am and and the tiny parking lot was already packed. Luckily there was a vacant lot right next to it for any overflow and so that's where my sis and I parked (I actually dropped her off at the door to start the order while I located the spot). Entering I was greeted with a friendly hello and asked how many. The host staff didn't forget this greeting to anyone who came through the doors the entire time I was there. Kudos to them. Meanwhile two other hosts were trying to figure out the order my sis was making as she wanted to upgrade her side of pancakes to be apple and the computer did not give this option. After not even five minutes my sister said it was fine and just make them chocolate chip. They did ask her if she was sure because they would figure it out for her. She told them it was fine as it was obviously not their fault, but a need for the computer menu to be adjusted. The rest of the order went smoothly and then the next snafu was the fact that there was no cashier station up front and I used cash to pay for it. They had to find a server for change. This barely took any time, but I did overhear one server whine they would have no change if they gave the hosts her smaller bills. I work in the food service business so understand how important keeping small bills handy is, but please do not whine when customers are in ear shot. I received my change and was even "updated" with the fact that my order had been sent to the kitchen and was being worked on. While we waited for the order the business never quieted down. For anyone leaving more entered. That was a good sign. Also one of the hosts (she seemed to be the lead?) apologized and thanked us for being patient during the whole pancake scenerio. My sis and I laughed and said it was nothing. And it really wasn't as it was (as I said before) obviously not the fault of the host staff. I forgot to time how long it took for the food to come out, but it wasn't long at all and I remember saying - "oh, that was quick." A manager brought the food out, went over the entire order with us, bagged it and added all the condiments. Customer service is a thumbs up. I failed to catch the names of all the hosts, but the name Brittany is on my receipt so thank you Brittany! Now for the food - I eat GF so there really weren't many options for me, but I really wanted hash browns so ordered those. Even though their allergy menu says these do not contain gluten and wheat I understand the risks of cross contamination. They were not greasy at all which is always a good thing with hash browns, tasted like I remembered from previous trips, and did not make me sick (always a good thing with food allergies). Sis ordered the Colorado omelette with the side of chocolate chip pancakes. She said it tasted good and had no complaints. To me the chocolate chip pancakes looked a bit weak on the chocolate chips. The rest of the meal for the family included a simple side of egg and sausage (paying $2.29 for two sausage links seems a bit extreme, but...) and a raspberry cream crepe. The crepe was the biggest issue. I didn't think about the fact that as it was ToGo the topping would be placed in side containers so it looked rather sad sitting in the box. They also did not include whip topping (not cool). The person dining on this also felt as if the raspberry was a mystery fruit. The topping tasted of very sugary raspberry sauce, but when they saw the fruit filling they thought it had been mistaken for a cherry crepe. The fruit did not really resemble a raspberry. (I'm including a few pictures of the food) So overall I still rate it 4 stars and hope it stays this way. I will most likely be buying the family breakfast there again. read more

I have been in the food and beverage industry since I was born. I've been a server my entire life and I ALWAYS give people the benefit of the doubt. But today, NO. There were about 8+ employees working on a NOT BUSY Saturday afternoon. All the employees were standing around and talking at their server station. Each server had maybe two tables each, most likely one with the second one cashing out. The place was empty. I ordered the eggs Benedict like I always do. The eggs basically came out as hard boiled eggs, my muffin was extremely tough and I couldn't even cut into it! I had politely asked the food to be remade. I was not upset what so ever. And I had nothing against the server, she obviously didn't make my food. I finally got to eat my food a half and hour later and while I was waiting for my food, my boyfriend was eating his food and found ALUMINUM in his hash browns!!!!!! The manager didn't give a rats ass about it. Didn't fix the issue at all and basically gave us our bill and waited for us to cash out. I will be calling customer service and complaining. Slow service. I've had three different waitresses and the food is cold as well as that cafeteria grade bland taste. I got the smokehouse combo. The two side pancakes that came with it were good though. I didn't make it through the main plate though. Too blahhhhhhhhh. When one of our waitresses did appear I jumped on asking for more coffee immediately because I don't know when I'll see her again. Ask for extra creamer if you take it. She literally gave us two tiny pods. I'm underwhelmed at best and will not be coming back. On top of it there are screaming brats all around me just adding to my general discontent lol. The service here was super slow but I don't mind that much if I didn't have 3 hungry kids with me . Our 1st waitress went on break after she took our order and our 2nd waitress just brought out our food and check . After she brought the check she has not checked on us or anything of that sort. I must say the service was super terrible . I did give 2 stars because the food was good but not presentable as my eggs that I ordered were broken (I ordered over medium) . Oh yeah, I am here to echo the other low ratings of this disappointing place. The service ranges from sullen and slow to cheerful and slow. I get the feeling it is horrible to work here. I don't want that assertion to result in employees being forced to pretend really hard to enjoy their crap jobs; I want improvement in the way this dump is run. We have been to this IHOP perhaps four times since it opened. Every time, the food has arrived cold as if our order sat unattended for many minutes. It always has that distasteful blandness of frozen food. Other, similar restaurants are more skilled at hiding that blandness, possibly because they actually serve their products hot! Even other IHOP locations haven't been bad, so what's up with Silverdale? We always feel rushed and unwelcome at this restaurant, even though we have only seen it busy on one occasion. Every other time, it was dead, but the service people still seemed stressed but moved very slowly. Server always throws us our check without even asking if we want something else (and we had been discussing another order)! The environment is unwelcoming. Sat down on Saturday morning for a bite of the Kings Hawaiian French Toast but was met with a staff in such disarray that it destroyed the entire experience. The staff waited 15 minutes before coming to take a drink order. The eggs were undercooked: when brought to the table they were over easy when the actual order was for over hard. Take a minute and google how over hard eggs should be prepared. Now imagine if they took those same eggs back to the kitchen and threw them back on the grill broke them (not gently) and the slapped them back on the plate. I believe I even heard one of the cook staff say something to the effect of "wont be happy that I saw those eggs again". NEVER ever will I go to IHOP. read more
