There is a very small seating area dedicated to the food truck-- the larger outdoor seating area is reserved for customers of the Brewery. However as long as you order a drink you're welcome to enjoy the food from Ikaika indoors or outdoors. The order process was easy-- they had the full menu on the glass of the ordering booth and a menu board with the gluten free options from their full menu. Once you place the order they give you a beeper that'll work anywhere on the property so you can definitely place the order and head inside the brewery to grab a drink. It did take a long time for our orders to come out-- there were 2 people on average preparing the food while 1 person was in charge of managing the register. The sauce that came with the fish and chips were amazing and got praise from all of us. We also ordered kimchi fried rice and while the kimchi was great, some of the rice tasted undercooked and the celery felt a little strange as an addition. The kalua sandwich was very solid and the buns were toasted beautifully golden and we did order the award winning beans but my partner was not a fan of the sweetness. The coleslaw that came with the fish and chips also had a gingery aftertaste.

The food is still great and authentic, but I am extremely disappointed with their current business practices! Soa's Kitchen used to have posted pricing for containers and plates two years ago, but now there is no signage of pricing anywhere in the restaurant. I trusted the employee, and didn't pay any attention to the scale when she was ringing up my order. At the time, the total did seem a bit high, but I let it go for the sake of supporting a Samoan business. When I got home, I told my Savaiian wife that I'm pretty sure that I was charged the "Palagi Tax" today on my order, over $90 for 2 combo plates (Each Plate contained: 1pc Taro, 1pc Faʻalifu Faʻi, 1pc Fasi Povi Masima, 2 ribs of Mamoe Tao, 1 scoop of Kale Mamoe) and 2 Paluasami. When I showed her the receipt, she was like "WTF"! After going to Soa's Kitchen website, and reading several reviews, I see that I am not the only one who feels cheated, and confirmed the "Palagi Tax" practices! I want to support "Black & Brown Businesses", but I need Soa's Kitchen to provide fair business practices. Soa's Kitchen needs to post their pricing and they need to charge everyone fairly, not based on personal bias of the customer. If I ever go to Soa's Kitchen again, and I don't see any posted pricing, I will just not be your customer, I will not support your business!

Thankfully dine-in is back open again, so we got here on a Saturday morning around 11:20am to indoor seating that was nearly full and a small line that was forming at the front counter. Walls have a bunch of photo frames, and overall place felt very homely. They have a ton of Hawaiian style plates and even burgers and some seafood, though we and most others got the former to eat. I ordered their chicken and pork combo Hawaiian style plate, and my bestie got their chicken katsu Hawaiian style plate. Portions are huge for both plates and both also came with macaroni salad. They give you sooooo much meat no matter what you get. To go in slightly more detail: - Chicken and pork combo: both meats were flavored very well, and a little sweet too though pretty salty without using the rice as a palette cleanser. Chicken had more depth in its flavor; the pork's flavor was a little too much for my liking, and was slightly harder to chew. Both meats had some sauce hat went onto the rice itself. This didn't detract from my overall experience here, though. - Chicken katsu: we both agreed this was our favorite after exchanging pieces of each other's dish. The katsu is crispy and crunchy, and the chicken itself retained a lot of its juiciness. Katsu sauce on the side is honestly optional since the meat itself is already salty enough. This place does share extremely limited parking with Cakes of Paradise next door, so get here early or be prepared to drive around the area to find some. Just get here, it's a place you can't pass up when you hit up Georgetown!

Parking is scarce, so plan ahead and be patient. We came on a Wednesday and happened to score a parking spot right in front of the bakery. Once you arrive, get in line immediately--there will be one. The woman taking our order was incredibly peppy and friendly, even while juggling everything: taking in-person orders, answering phones, serving customers, and bagging food. Seriously impressive. All the seats were filled, so we ordered everything to-go. We got the famous crispy ginger chicken, spam musubi, and chicken long rice. I was hoping for oxtail soup and asked about it--she explained they only offer it on certain days and recommended calling early in the morning to check, then getting there quickly because it sells out fast. Can't wait to come back and try it. Back at the hotel, we feasted. The crispy ginger chicken is famous for a reason--so flavorful, perfectly crispy, and somehow even better the next day. The chicken long rice was packed with noodles directly in the soup (not separately) so the broth had mostly soaked into the noodles, but it was still deeply flavorful and comforting. The spam musubi leans on the sweeter side, which is great if that's your thing. Overall, this place is all about heart, hustle, and seriously satisfying Hawaiian comfort food. Come early, expect a line, plan for parking--and you'll be rewarded.

I want to mention that the workers were all very kind and I had no problems with service. Even though we ordered at the counter, they checked in at our table multiple times. Unfortunately, the food fell flat. The Mochiko chicken was flavorless and served with a sweet chili sauce that tasted just like the kind I have from the grocery store. I thought Mochiko chicken was supposed to be flavorful on its own, even without a sauce. Also the portion was kinda small for the price. The Kahlua pork bowl had pork, but also what tasted like loco Moco gravy... which was a good gravy, but not what we really wanted on top of Kahlua pork. When we saw that it came with "gravy" for the bowl description on the menu, I was thinking it would taste something more like the pork itself. Also, it was heavy on the rice. Lastly, the guava cake had a nice soft airy texture... but not enough guava flavor. It is huge, but mostly air. We didn't order it to-go, but it came in a to-go container rather than on a plate. I felt it was overpriced at almost $10 per slice. Overall, my experience was just alright. I'm glad I tried it, but I don't need to return.
