Swedish Meatball meal plus a slice of chocolate cake
    Stephanie R.

We visited IKEA to take advantage of the birthday perks they offer. This location in Canton, Michigan has their showrooms on the top floor and shopping on the main level. There are some items sold throughout the showroom section but the main shopping is the lower level. We walked through the showroom areas on the top floor to get an idea of what we'd want to buy. Since their restaurant is located on this floor, we ate before going downstairs. There was a line for food (it's cafeteria style where you grab a tray and walk through the line to pick out what you want) but it was moving very quickly. The line cooks were very personable but when I got to the cashier, she was not friendly at all and had double-charged me for my meal. When I questioned it, there was no apology. She just corrected it and told me the new price. I found that odd since I've never encountered this type of attitude at this store before (at any of their locations). It was this interaction that lowered my rating from a 4 star to a 3 star as it left a bad feeling the remainder of my visit. I ended up getting their typical Swedish meatballs meal (comes with peas and mashed potatoes). I also got a slice of the chocolate cake for my birthday perk. It was really good but very chocolatey so be aware! After our meal, we walked through the lower/main level, picking up odds and ends for the kitchen and bath and used their self-checkout. IKEA hasn't offered bags for purchases for years now so be sure to bring your own bags if you anticipate buying anything. I like shopping here and I like their meals in the restaurant so we'll return to hopefully a different experience in the future.

I love this location! IKEA has such great furniture and design options - this is always a go to place to go in the winter when wanting new design inspo. I decided to try the Swedish meatball meal in the cafeteria, and wasn't too impressed. The line was very long and the food was just okay- not sure it was worth the hype. The prices were great, however, and could be good for an easy quick meal! Staff was moderately friendly and quiet.

I love IKEA! We usually have things delivered to the house but we're here for work and stopped in without an appointment to make revisions to a kitchen plan. Jeremiah was awesome, he had everything resolved in less than 1/2 an hour. Wish we lived closer, so much to choose from.

Nate wanted to buy some shelves at IKEA so we stopped by recently. I think this was my first time visiting this IKEA location. Luckily it was not busy at all, we went on a weekday around noon. The store is huge and the flow is pretty much one way, so you kind of have to walk through the whole place to get to what you're looking for. It's okay though because they have SO MUCH to see - I particularly like the different setups showing all their items in little fake rooms. If you can imagine something for your house, they probably sell it at IKEA. Luckily we were on a mission to get in and out quickly, so we only bought two items - the shelf Nate wanted, and a bamboo cutting board for me. Some other things that caught my eye: the chairs (they have SO MANY chairs), bedding (I've bought comforters at IKEA before), lots and lots of kitchenware items, and tons of fake plants. To purchase any large items, just take a photo of the tag that tells where it's stored in the self-service area (warehouse at the end of the store). Then just find the row and grab the box(es). The item we were looking for was right at the entrance of the self-service area which was handy. There's a restaurant upstairs and a grab and go food/snack area right after the checkouts.

Fun place for stylish furniture on a budget! This was THE place before moving to college to get dorm stuff back in the day, but even today I really appreciate the vast selection of home accessories and small items that is far less expensive than other retailers. The self-serve component, for me, is fun! I could see why it might not be everyone's cup of tea. I always plan for a ton of time for my IKEA trips so I could browse the showrooms for fun and the marketplace downstairs as well. The dining area is huge and I genuinely enjoy the meals, also for a great price. Swedish meatballs plate is a classic of course, but tried the garlic lemon cod today and that was delicious as well! Large section at checkout of food/pantry/freezer items to take home.

The power was out, and they were running on generators, so it almost felt like shopping after hours. IKEA is still fun for certain items, but for a lot of things, we've moved past that first-apartment style. If you're going in for specific pieces, though, it's great.

A great store for everything home and decorations at a great price. I love the Swedish meatballs in the restaurant and the famous cinnamon rolls

I went in this last Saturday with my measurements, but too was quickly greeted and explained to the process of how it works. They even gave me a sheet of a timeline--each step of the process is clearly mapped out for you! I'm a very busy person and work a LOT, so I immediately loved that. This is not Home Depot, so the designers are not hourly employees and are VERY busy (especially on Saturday) when people stray in to browse and the designers are busy with their appointments. They're more than happy to allow people to browse, but don't expect a lot of help with pricing questions.. However, I DID get a lot of help! Both of the receptionists came over and talked to us and showed us many of the different cabinet features, granite and finishes that they loved and were the top sellers.. Both women even gave us a list of the vendors they work with.. That was VERY helpful as we stopped by a couple places after. I was so frazzled on Saturday, I wish I remembered their names because they were excellent and went above and beyond and deserve a proper shout out! After talking to both of these nice women for a minute, I assumed they were designers that had a little extra free time. Nope! But they knew their stuff.. If you're wanting to discuss pricing and go over finishes, you have to make an appointment.. but even though I didn't have one, I was more than happy to schedule one and come back next week. I'm going to be investing a lot of money--I really liked that they are smart too and don't just run around wasting their time with every person that walks through their door that is only half serious and not ready to start their project now (like I am). I've worked in a similar industry most of my life and chasing around people that want to dream shop is EXHAUSTING, especially when you have ready and willing people that NEED to get their project done right away, but can't because of time wasters. Lastly, after we left the showroom, we went to one of their preferred flooring company in Livonia. I was blown away by the selection. They have a designated employee that works there on certain days that handles KSI people. He was not there, and the other guy that greeted us showed us around and answered so many questions for us even though he knew at that point he heard KSI he wasn't going to get a commission. I loved that. People that genuinely care! I asked him to honestly tell me, is it worth if couple extra bucks to work with KSI. He said that actually, you end up spending just as much working with KSI than any contractor you would find on your own. The people they have contracted don't fuck around--because KSI will cut them off. They know this.. Also, KSI gets big discounts from all of their vendors.. Plus, the designers coordinate everything. A lot of their vendors only work with designers so you get discounted pricing already because they order in bulk. If this guy who is commission based only cared about his paycheck, he would have lied to me and told me they were horrible to work with and encouraged me to do my floors first, which is a bad idea and he didn't. Instead, he escorted us around their massive warehouse and explained all the flooring options. Looking very forward to working with this company!

That's because they have successfully trapped you, after that all promises of high quality, timely work, and project management that is supposed to be all of high standards, given the premium price points and additional costs of this "professional" establishment, stop existing. They then higher random 3rd party contractors for the bulk of the project for the cheapest prices - while charging you top dollar. They don't hold them accountable, and they don't care. You will have to beg to get them to show up, and beg for them to come back when round 1 ends up being such low quality work that you'll need a re-do. They do this on purpose because a lot of people want to avoid the headache and will accept the low quality work. Avoid this corporate nightmare, they deliberately will try to cut corners on you, they force you to manage your own project, and ultimately you'll realize you got completely taken advantage of. The time frame for the project they present is a lie. The high quality and professionals they promise it a lie. You need to beg to get their experienced pros - they will send you random workers they find who barely know what their doing for the first round - then give you the better workers if you complain. Get ready to get on your hands and knees begging for your project to get focused on while you try to compete with 10+ other people begging for their project to get done at the same time. They over schedule and don't care because all they care about is getting you wrapped up in the predatory contract and then that's it, you're trapped. Find businesses that don't have these predatory business practices, go directly to places and work with them directly. You don't need a glorified middle man to "manage" the project for you, it's nonsense - it actually overcomplicates the project and they don't manage anything anyways, they make you become a full time project manager or things will never get done - or be such low quality that it'll appear your premium priced project was a DIY job. If you respect your time, money, and soul, you won't use KSI corporate nightmare.

Our goal was to modernize the space, improve the layout and functionality, and create a classic design that would stand the test of time rather than simply follow current trends. From beginning to end, the Accent Remodeling team exceeded our expectations. Our experience began with Steve Albert, who guided us through the design process with professionalism, patience, and thoughtful recommendations. Steve listened carefully to our priorities and made sure our preferences remained at the center of the final design. His communication was easy, timely, and transparent throughout the process, with quick responses to calls, texts, and emails. Once the design and material selections were finalized, Steve quickly engaged the broader Accent team to bring the vision to life. Kevin, the master scheduler, Ken, the project manager, and the installation team led by Mo, with his team, Paul and Sam, made us feel as though our project was their top priority. Then there was Bill, who used his skill as a master craftsman to design and build a custom hood vent to fully integrate the design. Their communication was excellent, their attention to detail was impressive, and their pride in craftsmanship was evident every step of the way. It truly felt as if they were working on our home with the same care and standards they would apply to their own. Whenever questions, concerns, or requested changes came up, the team responded promptly, respectfully, and effectively. They were flexible, solution-oriented, and committed to making sure the outcome matched our expectations. Accent Remodeling delivered exactly what we hoped for: a beautiful, functional, timeless kitchen and a remodeling experience built on trust, communication, and quality workmanship. One year later, we continue to be pleased with the result and are confident we made the right choice in selecting Accent Remodeling for our project. Thank you to the entire Accent team for the job which is exceptionally well done.

We are extremely happy with the end product and would go with Accent again. We shopped other larger remodelers but we were never satisfied with their very conventional designs and the others insisted that I didn't have enough space for a water closet and separate vanities. Accent gave me both and the deal was done for me. It ended up taking much longer than we anticipated to complete the work. Almost two months during which we vacated the master bedroom and moved that furniture around so the workers could have easy access to the bathroom, and we didn't want to sleep with the dust in the air. At some point in the process we changed the door for the water closet. The supplier of the door had several delays, so we were not happy about that. But several months later the bathroom is done and we love it. The workmanship is top notch, the tradesmen were great, very friendly and professional and cleaned up behind themselves. Steve & Bill were very easy to work with and the final product looks just like the drawings he did on the computer the first time we met. We would highly recommend Accent, but don't be in a hurry. If you want it to look beautiful it may take some time.

It took five trips to the Canton store before they figured out how to use our credits five times! Secondly, when they delivered our furniture, not all of the items that we purchased were delivered. When I asked where our white chair was, I was told it must be on backorder. It would have been nice if they had made us aware of it. When they tried to deliver our brown leather chair, they did not have the correct pieces. They told us that it would be delivered the following day. After they left, I went downstairs to sit on the brown leather couch when I noticed something. Can you make a guess at what I noticed? Two holes in the drywall, one by where they placed the couch, and the other was in the wall going up the steps. To add insult to injury, the gentleman who delivered our furniture did not say a word about the damage they caused . I'm not sure how they did not notice it's about the size of a fist. It was pretty obvious that Stevie Wonder himself would have seen it. I understand that accidents happen and people make mistakes, but the lack of integrity in not owning up to causing damage to someone's home shows a lack of a moral compass. To me, this suggests that the leadership prioritizes the almighty dollar over customer service. Last but certainly not least was this evening's delivery. When we found out that our brown leather chair could not be delivered that day, my wife received an alert on her phone stating that our chair would be delivered the next day between 4:30 pm and 9:00 pm. Do you wanna know what time the chair was delivered? It was not anywhere close to the timeframe given. Come on, just take a guess. Well, if you guess 1130pm, you are correct. Delivering to some at 1130 a night is a colossal mistake. Who in their right mind would think this is a good business practice? So once again, your incompetent employees and leadership failed, dropped the ball, or whatever you want to call it. This experience the past week, dealing with your business has been a nightmare. They still have not provided a timeframe for our white couch to be delivered. It's frightening to think what's going to happen when you attempt to deliver our last item. If I were a betting I would bet on that you will somehow mess that up as well. I guess what upset me the most is that your company charges Delta airline prices, but you gave us Spirit airline quality service. I look forward to hearing back from you. Thank you , Shane Calkins
