I made an online order for pickup of a couple 8' pieces of crowd moulding. They were ready really quickly. When I got my items, there was a couple issues but the guy that helped me was so nice and ran back to the trim department three times to get my order straightened out. While waiting 3 other workers asked me if I needed assistance. I did hunt down a new register cover and encountered two other employees that were very nice and happy to help. Another lady helped identify something I was describing and pointed me in the right direction. For having to drive all the way out to Canton from Chelsea just for these trim pieces, it was a lovely visit. My contractor is finishing my house as a type! In the end, I got an installed dishwasher, so that was good. But the road there was rocky. Lowe's outsources its delivery, so prepare for frustrating delays, lack of communication, and pretty shabby customer service. Unhappy? October 2024 i purchased an amana washer for approximately $600. In february of 2026 it quit working. The serviceman told me it would cost $538 to repair. My warranty was only good for 1 yr. Sad to say that amana only lasted me less than 1 1/2 years. I do not plan on ever purchasing an appliance from this store again. read more

DO NOT BUY THEIR PELLA WINDOWS! Having air infiltration problems after only 2 years of install. They took 23 months from payment to install, and labor warranty starts on day of payment. We stopped here in the hopes to fine one small strip of lights to finish of our pillar and one side of our balcony railing. The Lowe's by was sold out of almost every kind of light. I don't think I have ever seen that happen at all. Last light roll on the shelf, it's not wrapped at all. We checked that it works at least, but a bit odd without any wrapping on it at all. Staff manning the self checkout registers checked and there's supposed to be 5 more in the store, another staffer went to try to see if they have one wrapped for us. I think she was going to the back storage area. We had a bit of a wait to find they none in the back. The staffer had to ask if they could knock something off since the last remaining was missing the wrapping on it. The 3rd staffer had to ask yet another 4th person about reducing the cost of the lights. Seems like few people have any authority around here at all. Only discounts for damaged items. Who knows if it's been damaged before us or not. Would have it hurt them at all to give us even 10% off at all? How cheap. read more

Thank you for your advice and your service, Jim! As for the products, we're not as impressed with one product being poorly labeled and faulty. After attempts of lighting our newly purchased torch head at home were usuccessful, I used the QR code on the packaging only to find out the torch head requires propane and doesn't work with MAPP gas. Upon purchasing propane, the torch still wouldn't light. Thankfully, staff made a no hassle return for us. The next best option was over 3x more expensive, which isn't ideal but we're in a rush for this project. read more

Interested in a refurbishment of my kitchen, master bathroom and flooring throughout my home. I met with a Lowe's representative to discuss, design and schedule an appointment with contractors hired by Lowe's to do the installation. It was a nightmare to say the least. Gone are the days where you have one contractor doing the installation for your entire project. Today, Lowe's requires you to have a different contractor for each job. The flooring installation would require two separate contractors because one specializes in carpets and the other is a hardwood floor expert. With the kitchen and master bathroom it would of required at least four separate contractors minus someone to oversee the entire project. Speaking from experience, in 2013 I did a similar home improvement through Lowe's with one contractor who was the project manager for the entire job. It was fantastic but Lowe's no longer offers this service. The work is now divvied up based on a contractor's specialty. It might be good for the contractors to spread out the work but it is horrible for customers to be a project manager and have to deal with multiple contractors. I stopped in here the other day and it was very noticeable that the employees in the various departments were very friendly. Many of them greeted you as you walk through the isles with the can I help you or how are you today. You could tell if this was genuine and friendly. Here's a downside, I went through self check out. There was no one else in line. The Lowes employee who oversees the self check outs... could care less about the customers. This individual didn't offer to help me with a scan, but rather watched me struggle. In the past, when there's been no one else in the checkout lines, the person overseeing the self check out would ring me up to expedite my purchase. However, this individual, an older lady could care less and wasn't interested in doing anything other than standing and breathing. read more

Our salesperson, Bryon Tabour, has done little to assist us. We have been transferred to another company, and they two have given us the run around. This saved me from running around town. She was very knowledgable and so I purchased it on line. The next day it was delivered by Fed Express. Free shipping came with the deal. I am writing this email because I have never received such horrible customer service in my life. When I decided to go to Lowes for my fence installation, as opposed to a smaller family owned fence company, I did so because I thought I wouldnt have to worry about poor customer service and lack of professionalism. I was wrong. My two neighbors on both sides of my house and I decided to get a privacy fence. We paid Lowes for the Fence in August 2020. They told us they wouldn't be able to install until April 2021. Given the current state of the economy, we accepted this and moved forward with lowes. After waiting 9 months with no communication on the part of Lowes, I decided to contact the lowes sales person to see when we should be expecting the fence to be installed. He told me that he doesn't have anything to do with the fence after he sells it and gave me the number to the installer. The installer told me that they haven't even scheduled our installation yet because the drawing done by the sales person was rejected by the city. I then have to call the salesman back and let him know of his mistake. After 9 months, all of this should have been taken care of at this point. He comes back to my house, re-measures, and informs me that he has to wait for back ordered materials. Because I complained to the installers, they decided to install the rest of the fencing and wait on the portion in my yard that was delayed. The second issue presented itself when the installers hit an internet line. Long story short they tried to make me believe it was my fault and I would be receiving a bill. When I spoke with the internet technician that came to fix it, he informed me that it had nothing to do with me. That the installers knew they were supposed to hand dig within so many feet of the line, and they were using an auger. The third issue: On installation day they inform me that they cannot install the fence on my side of the property line due to a tree that is encroaching on the neighbors property. After 9 months of waiting and now they tell me this? I had to pay an additional $900 last minute to have this tree removed. At this point I was angry. I talked to the salesman, and informed him that this was all ( the delay in materials and permits, and now the tree situation) due to his negligence. He was EXTREMELY rude, got loud with me and said that nothing is his fault and it doesn't help anyone to place blame. The fact that he couldn't apologize and take responsibility for things that were clearly due to his lack of due diligence was really disappointing. Fourth issue: After the tree has been removed AND I received the backordered materials for the remaining part of my fence, I still have no expected date for them to finish the fence. I called the installers on Monday April 26th, informed them that the tree has been removed and I have the rest of the materials. They told me they would get back to me. I did not hear from them so I called again on Friday April 30th, again they said they would get back to me. Meanwhile I have 3 small dogs and I cannot let them out into my yard. read more

I was in the Canton store around 3:30 and the lady that was running the self serve registers needs training in customer service. I had 12 ft lengths of trim and went to the register that is available in that area. She let me stand there until I asked her if she was going to ring me up. I seem to always leave this store very frustrated. We are new homeowners and find ourselves at a home improvement store almost every weekend. It is very difficult to find things at this store. I have NEVER had an employee ask if I need help finding things. I've always had to search for employees and usually can't find them. Needed a new washer for my mother in law. They informed me that they won't honor the Veterans discount on appliances but since they could deliver and hook it up right away I decided to to purchase it anyway. When they delivered the washer they refused to set it up and connect the new hoses. The said if the hook it up it would void the warranty. read more

After placing a $1,200 order they ignored our delivery instructions, didn't even give us a delivery window until less than 12 hours before, then tried to deliver an hour outside of the window they just gave us 12 hours ago, then lied and said there was nothing they could do about it, then employees started lying about their titles, then they waited until I was 5 minutes away from the store that took me 40 minutes to get to before they called me and told me they could fix it, then when I asked the manager why his employees are all liars he puffed up his chest started yelling at me and took a step towards me like he was going to fight me. We went to this Lowe's to look for some nuts for a crib that a family friend gave to us. We went to he hardware section and looked around for a couple minutes, but couldn't find them. So we went to the counter and I said "Excuse me" to the lady standing there, to which she responded "Excuse ME" in a rather unpleasant tone. It blew my mind, so I just asked her if she could help us find a certain type of nut. I showed her the piece we were looking for and then she said "IKEA." That also blew my mind, making me think that she was redirecting us to IKEA, so I said, "No, a friend gave us a crib, and it was missing some of the hardware." Finally, she said "it's in the furniture parts drawer" and pointed me to it. I said, "Thank you." Then, she asked, "Can you see it, or do you need me to show it to you?" I assured her that I could see it. I thought this was absolutely bizarre and customer disservice. Know what you could be getting into if you go to this Lowe's. read more

We recently purchased a new fridge. We are very happy with the product but the delivery experience was the worst we've ever had (and paid for!). The delivery driver was abrupt and unprofessional. They came before the window, causing us to scramble before 8am on a Sunday morning. They damaged the new fridge bringing it into the house, knocked off and broke a wall fixture in our kitchen and then damaged the old fridge moving it to the garage! When they went to put the front door back on, the guy was being rough with the door and was not willing to get help from me. Then, he tried to smash the door into the hinge, by grabbing it with a pair of pliers and smashing the door casing! Thankfully, I stopped him and offered to put the door back on myself. To which he rudely, grabbed his tools and just started walking away. They didn't even have me sign anything. It was surreal and disappointing. That's the bad news. Why the 5-star rating? Because of one person: The assistant store manager: Clint Brown! Clint took our feedback, wrote everything down, informed us of the upcoming plan from Lowe's senior leadership to fix the chronic problems they were having with the outsourced delivery and then....gave us a very gracious refund of much of the purchase price. We are bummed that the new fridge and old fridge is damaged(making it harder to resell). However - Lowe's made it right. Specifically, Clint Brown made it right! read more

I hate going to Lowe's. It looks pretty and awesome from the outside. They seem to have great mailers. As for helpful staff. I have yet to see great quality. I came to the Lowe's on Ford RD. and it seemed like everyone working there could not be bothered. I was being directed back and forth all over the store by it seemed like every employee. As many fellow home owners do I make my seemingly weekly, and at times more often, pilgrimages to the home improvement store of choice. This location has been the one I frequent the most. Staff here is generally good. Some departments tend to have more knowledgable personnel than others. They typically have enough stock on hand to find whatever I need. They must do a considerable volume because they tend to not have the clearance items that the Westland store has. Overall I have been very happy with the store once I was dealing with the people who are most knowledgable. The Lowes return policy is fantastic. read more

They cancelled my order and didn't feel the need to tell me. No apology. The lady I talked to basically said its my fault for not knowing that because I didn't see that my CC hadn't been charged yet. I took time out of my busy day drive to the store right away. Not one bag of this mulch at the store. Clerk in the garden department confirmed they didn't have any. She also stated that just because the website says something is in stock doesn't mean that it is. No sorry. Can I give you a raincheck? No suggestion for a different product. I can see if the website said 10 bags were available. But 95? That is a huge discrepancy. Truly disappointed Lowes. read more

I remodeled and re built and entire house so I have given the company well above 50g of my money, but when you select a floor, the give you a very wrong estimate (where removing carpet is about 1600 bucks), your entire estimate is 1000 over (just in labor), than an independent contractor, the guys in the desk don't even note down your floor selection, or they sell you delivery (nice job there Aaron from flooring! Thanks for messing up my knstalalation!), they tell tell you they call you the 3rd to schedule delivery...they don't, so you call them the 5th, after about 1.5 hours of going around on the phone they have you scheduled for delivery for Friday! You call them up on Friday couse you haven't heard what time are they dropping the stuff and you find out that in their infinite stupidity they have NOT schedule you for delivery, and you have outside contractors schedule To come on a Saturday.... that my friend is why you are losing money! When your customer feels like the 4 g they spent in your store are getting messed up due to a bunch of careless incompetent and not eager to solve the problem workers... that is when your 59 bucks delivery makes you lose a 4 g sale... thanks Aaron in the flooring department, to reeeally mess you guys out of some sales, for two different homes in working on! And to reaaally mess my floor installation twice! That takes skill, specially because I tend to account for instances like these...Great job there! read more

This place is the worst. I tried to return my primo water jugs and buy new ones and it took 30 minutes. If they had told me it was going to take that long I would have went somewhere else. When I asked why it took so long they looked at me and walked a way. I asked to speak to a manager and they ignored me. I called and asked to speak to a manager and I was connected to a line that just rings and rings with no one answering it. Lowes should be ashamed they hire employees who don't care about customers. I will have to conclude this location is run buy managers who don't care about customers. In Addition this store location is dirty and run down. They said they'd only discount $50 for all the damage they did. Regarding the Canton, Michigan Lowe's store, all I can say is let the buyer beware! What (absolutely) pathetic customer service department. Multiple people standing around but nobody trying to help the customer. Took 15 minutes to pick the product and ~70+ minutes to finally get a receipt printed correctly. Delivery of the appliance was scheduled for Saturday but that evening (6:30pm) we we're called by the trucking company saying they ran out of DOT "driving hours" and 'I' had to reschedule. Immediately called that number, was put on hold (15 minutes) and when the person finally picked up, it sounded like a party was going on. When I expressed dismay at the overheard party laughter the person hung up on me! What a trial and tribulation. What a disappointing customer service department. One problem after another with incompetent people 'trying' to produce a simple receipt correctly. Called the corporate contact phone number and was given a case file (#04320125) with the promise the 'store manager' was going to call me the next day. I'm still waiting for that call 5 days now. Bought a washer, dryer, grill and a fire pit. Had them delivered and they did not bring the dryer or the fire pit. Brought the dryer the next day and I went in to pick up the fire pit. Low and behold they can't find our fire pit. After making me wait 30 minutes they gave me the one they had for a display. I do like the store, but trying to forget the above experience. read more

I've read some of the other 1-2 reviews and find them disappointing. I have had problems and different home improvement places, but have found Lowe's to be very helpful.
