I ordered a table and chairs, received the table but never got the chairs. Return went smoothly. My main question is what kind of store puts electric car parking spots in front of, and therefore much closer to the store, than the disabled parking spots?! It shows what kind of customers your company does and DOESN'T want. Which is fine, because I (very proudly) won't be back. read more

lines took at least 40 min to stand in while waiting to check out with only one cashier available. mean while, there were 4 employees by the express check out chatting. One or two of them could have gotten on a register to help. On top of that, the cashier we had, Kristen, started scanning the customers items belonging to the person behind us despite using a divider stick. We had to tell her at least 6 times that the items she scanned was not ours before she voided them. Furthermore, she automatically marked it as a credit card as a form of payment despite us having cash out and we had to wait for someone to remotely approve a void payment which took about 10 minutes read more

I'd give 0 stars if I could, unless you wanna waste a whole day there. Went in to buy 1 thing but had to walk through the whole store to look at it on the show room. Once I found it I waited at the desk for assistance and no one showed for 20 min, till I went and found someone. Then once I purchased the items I was told to wait 15 while they are pulled. I waited 30 min and then decided to go Inside to figure out what's going on. Got Inside to be told that it can't be pulled today and I'd have to come back tomorrow, but I drove and hour here and don't have the time to do it again. Planned on maybe spending 30 minutes here but we are now on hour 3 1/2 and counting...... read more

I LOVE Ikea! This place is awesome my wife and I have been going all the time lately. They have all the furniture and home goods you can imagine and if you need something you will find it here. The store is neat, clean, the employees are all customer service focused, and it's just a welcoming environment. The lay out is perfect and it's super easy to figure out with directories all over the place. It is so big that there is a cafeteria in the middle of it and the food is actually pretty good too! I don't know how legit this review is, since I've only been to an IKEA one other time before the Oak Creek location opened, but I think this location is great. I bought a bed frame from IKEA in Schaumburg and it has lasted 8+ years (and survived multiple moves taking it apart and putting it back together again). Their low prices and basic designs are what I love! We recently purchased a small nightstand and another bed frame. We had a few issues with buying online, gift cards, picking it up in store, etc., but everyone we talked to was very friendly, able to answer all of our questions, and were able to solve everything. I've always had great customer service here. read more

Worst customer service ever. I drove 45 min. to Ikea Oak Creek to purchase 8 bins. I was told they had 11 in stock. When I got there they only had 3. I asked customer service to call their IL location to verify the physical count before I drove another hour out. The gentleman tried to assist as much as he could and I'm grateful for that. I understand that he was not trained properly on how to handle these everyday retail situations. So he asked the customer service manager in returns/exchanges for assistance and SHE refused! She asked me to order online instead. I told her that I needed them today and would like to make the drive for them. I asked her again and she would not budge. She said there were 74 in IL per their computer system and could only call to check if they had 15 or less. Well I was told there was 11 and only 3 was in stock. How well do you think that went?? Mind you I would have not been as irate as I am now if I didn't get skip in line 2x by following procedures to grab a ticket while they serviced other customers who did not. I'm very confused by the negative reviews. I get it if IKEA is not your thing, but if it is and yet you hate this one I don't see why. Sure, it is smaller than most and their layout is a little odd, but I find it to be just as enjoyable as any other IKEA. I love being able to check out all the new furniture without driving 2 hours to Schaumburg. I recently bought some REALLY cute nightstands that double as cat hideouts. My cats love going inside and sleeping! They have showrooms, which many other IKEA stores have however it isn't always that obvious which items are for show and which you can pick up and put in your cart. They are super nice to run and grab you the same item but one that is actually for sale. I grabbed a basket that was the display one and someone ran all the way down to the register with the correct one. You pick up any furniture from the pick up area. Be sure to check if your box says box 1 of 2/3/whatever. It's easy to miss and you don't want to have to go back for something silly. Employees are helpful and two times I've gone and an item I wanted was sold out. They were able to tell me what day it would be in and both times they were there like they said. You can actually check on the app if the items are available in store. If you like IKEA stores, you will like this one... unless you expect it to be as massive as the others. Go in with an open mind and just soak in all the IKEA vibes. read more

When waiting in line to pay ( no host greeting customers) and I walked up to register #7 and asked cashier Jennifer if she was open, she greeted me with "obviously I am, my light is on". Felt that was very RUDE and disrespectful even when I went on about how I didn't know and nobody was greeting, she still went on to say "you're Already in line paying right?" I do NOT APPRECIATE being talked to by ANYONE like that. I am a paying customer and during these times ( especially if I was nice to begin with) you need to BE THANKFUL customers are coming in to shop WHICH KEEPS YOU EMPLOYED. With all the $$$ money IKEA is making you need to RETRAIN your cashiers to be more customer friendly! read more

Visited the new Ikea today to buy a dresser for the nursery we're putting together. Pretty irritated that I walk in the store, clearly 8 months pregnant, and am REFUSED a cart. The cart area stock was really low and there was an employee only sign I didn't want to cross to retrieve a cart. An Ikea employee (older lady, short blonde/white hair) waa slowly pulling carts from way back in the 'employee only' cart area out to the floor so I asked her if she could get one for me, she refused. She instead decided to talk very slowly to me about how carts are discouraged in the display area (as we stand there and there are TONS of people with carts). She even kindly hands a lady closer to her age (60s) a cart as she's refusing me..... I may not be 60, but I'm 8 months pregnant - clear as can be - and a cart is super helpful to hold my purse and water and anything else I might find along the way. Shame on you Ikea. Doubtful we'll be back. Not to mention I didn't find this Ikea anywhere near as interesting and shopper friendly as the Schaumburg one. As others have mentioned it's kind of a fire trap and mazey. In Schaumburg I can walk through the display area (where I've never been refused a cart) and decided what areas I want to check out. At this location you essentially have to walk through everything to get somewhere unless you study the map for the "shortcuts". No thanks. read more

I've only visited two Ikea stores: this one and the one in Schaumburg. I prefer our Milwaukee location. It's not as big, so the selection is a bit smaller, but I feel more comfortable shopping here because it seems more spread out. It seems to be easier to find parking and I like the layout. The path through the store is fairly clear. If you want to veer off and take a look at the set up living spaces, you can, but you can also skip past those and just look for the items you need which I find to be a more sensible way of shopping and keeping the flow of traffic moving. I have the Ikea app, so it's helpful to be able to look on my phone and know where to go. The signage with numbered sections is also helpful when trying to navigate to a particular area. It can be frustrating, though, to see something in the app and know it's not available at my location (especially with furniture that I'd like to try before I buy). There are always plenty of helpful staffers available to answer questions or direct customers toward specific areas or items. Some are more available than others. I have been ignored on a couple of occasions while employees were chatting with one another and ignoring customers. So far I've experienced two situations that I found to be frustrating limiting my review to 3 stars. First, the returns process. While I appreciate being able to return items, I waited in a short line for a VERY long time. Either the process requires too many steps, or the employees need more practice/training. I appreciate that I was able to return items, but it would be nice to be able to do so without a receipt like at so many other big stores. I'm not sure why my transaction could not be searched by my Ikea Family account. My second negative experience had to do with the cafe. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and there was one hot food line open with two employees and one register. The line at the register was so long that my food got cold while I waited to pay for it. That's just unacceptable. Weekends are going to be busy, Ikea. Staff appropriately. I love the convenience of a local Ikea and I'll continue to shop here for the items I need, but I'm hoping that with a little time the staff will improve, particularly in the returns section and in the cafe. read more

Substituting crap just to have something to sell. Impossible to find anything in stock. Looking up to see the location of a product in store, says in stock but no location. Had to ask for help and pick it up in furniture pickup. It was a wire basket and sliders. Small enough to keep in the empty spots on the shelf. read more

I mean hello and I love you. I should write like a love letter to this place. I have always loved them since I went to their location in the twin cities in college. Heck half my furniture in college was from here. This location is brand new and beautiful. The way Ikea is laid out you go through their gallery of rooms for ideas and write what you like on paper to pick up at the end of the store. I was here from 6PM-9PM on a Sunday because it takes time to go through. PLUS you have to have their café for dinner they are great quality foods with a cheap price point (meatballs!). I love their items if you really look you can get excellent quality items for a decent price. They go out of the way to make furniture that takes up less space to transport and easy to put together. My only disclaimer is to really ask a ton of questions we bought a bed frame that needed a ton of extra pieces and when it was said and done we had to go through the check-out line three times because we kept missing pieces for the bed. We needed the frame, legs, cover and a brace and no where told us that we had to figure it out on our own reading reviews on their site. That is why a lack of a star for the confusion there. What the heck? Some people don't like IKEA? Well, I suppose different people like different things (and that's OK!) but I see nothing but love for the new Oak Creek location. Of course I visited IKEA under almost perfect conditions -- I was meeting a friend on a weekday morning, and so we were relaxed and happy as we strolled through the (gorgeous) sample rooms and various departments. Mid-visit we stopped in the cafeteria and enjoyed, get this -- a $2 breaakfast of eggs, sausage, potatoes, and pancakes. $2!!! (being generous, I bought breakfast, lol) And my friend is an IKEA friends member, and that gained us two free coffees. Wow. If I lived nearby I would eat here all the time. The only bad thing about my visit is that I only had an hour to explore. I'll be back, IKEA, for some gorgeous pendant lights and another look at at the enormous offerings in your wonderous store. read more

My husband and I were finally able to make it to Ikea after it opened in May 2018. We had tried a couple of times but the lines were to long to try to get into the parking lot so we skipped it. Obviously this Ikea is smaller than the ones I've gone to elsewhere. It has about the same merchandise as other Ikea stores. There seemed to be a bit more room lay outs with decor ideas. I just couldn't figure out where things were because it is a smaller Ikea and the layout seemed different I don't know what it was but I wasn't feeling it. Ikea is a nice big airy store and a welcome addition for those who like constructing their own furniture. I've visited the Ikea in Oak Creek several times already and during each visit, I've experienced long delays at their checkout counters. I usually visit during the day when they are less busy. Last Wednesday around 1:30PM, of their 15 checkout counters, only 2 were open and each line had at least 7 or 8 people waiting to check out. A 3rd checkout line was eventually opened but even so, more and more people were lining up, waiting to check out. I asked an employee why they don't open additional checkout counters when the lines are long and was told that they they cannot anticipate the number of people who wish to checkout at any particular time. I do not buy that excuse. If the lines are getting long, a member from their management team could pitch in and alleviate the congestion and frustration. Another retail store I recently reviewed has a policy that when there are more than 3 people in line, they will open another checkout lane. Customers appreciate efforts retailers go to get them through the checkout process in a timely manner. read more

Hey Milwaukee, whaddya know - we got ourselves an IKEA! Right from the start, I'm an old hand at IKEA shopping, and have made many a pilgrimage to Schaumburg for those sweet, sweet, Swedish deals. I'll refrain from reviewing IKEA's delivery service, since that has little to do with the actual store location. With IKEA, I think you either love it or you hate it. Personally, I've been waiting a long time for the Milwaukee-area store that will fill the gap between Target and Crate & Barrel in my life. Sometimes you need a couch, but you can't afford C&B prices, and they don't have what you want at Target. What do? Well, now you can drive 20 minutes to IKEA instead of 90+ minutes. I waited to check it out until the store had been open at least a month, since the crowds had been intense. Once I did visit, I found the store to be busy but no problem to navigate without getting too frustrated. This store is just as much fun to peruse and daydream in as its larger cousin to the south, though slightly less exhausting. I confess that at first I was disappointed to hear this wasn't multi-story, but I think that has more to do with the amount of land available for development in Oak Creek compared to the smaller footprint in Schaumburg. I think we have just as much stuff here as there, with the exception of the seasonal/outdoor area. I like that area a lot, and I did miss that a little, but otherwise it was a relief not to have to put my cart on one of those weird cart escalators in order to get from the lighting section to the bathroom section. I haven't even had the meatballs yet, so another trip is due soon... read more

Wow, it's good to have our own Ikea in Wisconsin. I'm probably on newer end of experiencing this magical place but better late than never. We randomly decided to come down late on a Thursday night less than an hour before closing. This was definitely our mistake, because there is no possible way you can make it through the store in less than 2 hours if you're actually stopping to look at everything. It was super well organized and laid out, everything is labeled and the little vignettes are SO well done and helpful for styling tips and tricks! We didn't even make it halfway through the store but what we did see was more than enough to bring us back. Most people know that Ikea is a bargain place, but having visited with friends who have bought plenty - they mentioned several times that the quality seems to have improved recently, which is great to hear! Also, every employee we came across was super friendly and helpful. It seems they were really well prepared for the opening, and it was noted and appreciated! Can't wait to come back and here and spend some serious money. Don't tell my husband - just kidding he will be there with me, he LOVED his first experience with Ikea! read more

What a massive disappointment. It's like a giant Home Depot, just cleaner. After the "showrooms" it's all warehouse shelves. And, you have to find the item you want, then put it together yourself. The food is actually pretty good too and very affordable. All the furniture needs to be assembled at home but it's very stylish and affordable. OVERVIEW - Massive, beautiful location with stylistic home products and delicious, healthy food. Customer Service 5/5 This IKEA is a little bit smaller than other locations but still packs a lot in! You could spend hours browsing at the various home products. The Food Court is open and beautiful, facing a wooded field for your dining pleasure. The Meatball Meal comes in around $5 and 500 calories. Great bargain and it's delicious! Coming opening weekend where it was crazy busy, customer service was top notch. Going to Ikea is an adventure. Even the parking lot is different than anything I've ever seen before. There are parking spaces for families, long parking spaces for people who bring a trailer attached to their vehicle, and many, many other spaces to park. It really doesn't matter where you park, unless you have said trailer because they have spaces in front of the exit to use to pick up all your goodies. Before you enter the store make sure you have your bags with you. There are bags for sale but there are none available to carry items home with you. You must bring your own. When you walk in the main entrance you will notice that there are no carts. That's on purpose because the first sections of the store are all displays/vignettes and large furniture items that you couldn't put in a cart anyways. So you really don't need them until the middle of the store where you can start loading up on items like crazy. But wait...don't go through the vignettes until you drop your kids off at Smaland - a free "babysitting" service where kids play in the coolest playroom ever. They hand you a device that looks like the ones you get at chain restaurants while you are waiting for your table. It will go off if your kid can't stand to be away from you or if your time is up. There is a time limit as to how long you can leave your kid there. Once you get to the center of the store, grab a cart and ready, set, go... start your shopping! Remember to grab a pencil and a paper list so you can write down the item number and aisle number where you pick up your big goodies at the end of your shopping experience. The center of the store is where the restaurant is so you can get your meatball yummies. It's a very busy place so be prepared to wait. The store is a zig-zag system that feels like a maze that you can get in but cannot get out. Don't worry though, if you look closely there are many doors to go through that I call shortcuts. But why bother? Just enjoy going through the total store. You can get many of your 10,000 steps in that are required for healthy living. The products sold at Ikea are incredibly reasonable and basically you get what you pay for. Obviously the things sold here are not Penny Mustard standard but you get much value for the money. I personally have a desk, file cabinet, and many organizational items in my home that are fun and aesthetically pleasing. I also love the kitchenware although be careful, if you're going to use an item for hot foods, make sure the glass is tempered. Yes, I broke a glass bottle putting warm coffee in it to chill. The bottom cracked and it turns out it was not tempered glass, my bad. One of the knocks I have is the candles. I cannot easily remove the labels from the glass candles. Who wants to burn a pretty candle with the label on it? Not me. The food section is towards the end of the store so you don't end up thawing your meatballs as you shop. There are cookies and candies available as well as the frozen foods. The flat pack aisles are where you pick you your large items. Remember those aisle numbers you wrote down? They are really important now. Pick one of the many checkout aisles available but pay attention to the debit/credit only lanes. Not that it should matter...does anybody carry cash anymore? Before you hit the checkout lanes, be sure to visit the AS-IS section, you never know what you will find there. My husband is a carpentry hobbyist and there are miscellaneous shelves, boards and hardware as well as put-together furniture and clearance stuff. The staff is incredible friendly and helpful. There are plenty of employees available if you need directions, help finding things, etc. There are kiosks available if you prefer zero human contact. But staff is available to walk you through the kiosks too. And hey, don't forget to grab your kid on the way out. You will probably have to nudge them to get them out of that play area. read more

It is great that Wisconsin has an Ikea now, and it didn't help that almost all of Wisconsin came out to experience the new Ikea when I was there! But with that said, it was very well organized and the way they handled the influx of so many customers was pretty amazing to see. But I'm from Illinois and I'm used to the Schaumburg Ikea, and so this is pretty much a comparison review. This is a one floor Ikea which is a lot of navigation to do with a lot of people which made it hard to appreciate every set up they had. Even their room setups were very closed off which means I had to be in the room to appreciate the setup. That is a bit hard to do with a cart and a stroller. I do miss the cart escalators. Another positive for this location- They do allow to take carts all the way to your car. As for their nursing rooms- those aren't as decorated as the ones in Schaumburg. This is definitely a great addition to Wisconsin, and I will be coming back as I still have few more items on my list to buy from here. read more

Somehow I had never been to an ikea before moving to the Milwaukee area earlier this year. My former roommate had gotten some things there so when I moved and needed some furniture I figured I'd check it out. I am now a total convert. It's perfect for what I need at this stage of my life. I know I will move a few more times before buying a house, so inexpensive, reliable furniture is perfect. I also love the showrooms and seeing all the ideas for setup with the cost of the full room. It makes it fun to explore and I'm happy to get in some extra steps while exploring the store so the sprawling size doesn't bother me. I'm definitely guilty of leaving with way more than I came in for because they have so many fun little things that you have to walk by as you navigate like kitchen materials that I always find something else I want and with such reasonable prices it's hard to say no! Weekends can be pretty packed but the store is so big isn't doesn't feel too crowded. read more

Just had a very disappointing shopping experience at IKEA. Of course, no employees around to answer questions-which meant a lot of wandering around and a huge line to check out. If nothing else, read the final paragraph which outlines the true cost of a kitchen reno. For all you weekend warriors, I would encourage you to think again. You will drag your project out many additional weeks if not months. And if, in the end, it isn't up to code or isn't looking that good, you will end up pissing away thousands trying to save hundreds! The above is just my 2 cents perhaps in an attempt to justify my own approach to the project. We recently bought a $13,000 + kitchen (not including the $4,500 install) from Ikea. These folks are NOT ready for prime-time as kitchen remodelers. Not by a long-shot. I'll just bullet-point the defects (and as I go through these remember that my observations/opinions are based on doing a complete remodel. If you are only buying some appliances or a cabinet or two, you might be perfectly happy.) 1. Ikea closely guards their contact info, meaning they make it near on impossible to contact the store you got your design from or purchased from. All published numbers routed to a central call center and those people are very reticent to give an individual store phone numbers. They sometimes offer to leave a message with the store you patronized . None of the store employees have a voice-mail box or email. If you have an employee draw up a $20,000 remodel plan for you and if you need to consult with that person afterwards, you have to rely on the memory of the person you do reach (assuming you can get the phone number of the store and the kitchen dept ext) to relay your message to your designer. Or you can trek to your store and hope your designer is at work that day, Since know body seems to know any other employee's days off. 2. The Ikea designer and ordering website is a complete POS. Unfortunately, in my experience, this is very typical of European-hosted websites. EU corporations have no idea how a consumer website should function and are, apparently, reticent to hire American developers to get the job done properly. My experience: Ikea boasts of having a cloud-based app where you can design your own living space (i.e. kitchen, dining room, living room, etc). In truth their cloud software sucks. Does not accept my verified login credentials in MOST situations. On the rare occasions that it does (accept my login credentials), it will not fully load my previous designs. So what's the point? 3. Word of caution for you weekend warriors: if you create a design on Ikea's website, don't count on being able to retrieve it and turn it into an order. If you place an order on Ikea's website you will not be able to "backorder" any "out-of-stock" items!!! Rather you will only be offered the items currently in-stock. You need to keep checking back in order to secure the out-of-stock items you require!!! Wow!! The only way to place stuff on back-order is to order in the store so hopefully you live close! Here's how our Ikea experience went: we needed a major reno. We attended one of Ikea's kitchen remodel seminars at one of their stores which was only about 5 miles from our house. Paid Ikea to send out a contractor to take all measurements. Cheap insurance. Made a design appointment and was paired with a very knowledgeable and capable Ikea employee. Discovered later that we were not provided any way to contact this employee for making changes, etc. Placed our order at the store. Discovered that they would only accept a debit or credit card for payment. No paper of any kind (personal check, cashiers check, money order, etc). Good luck to most people who are trying to get their bank to approve a single-day $14,000 withdrawal (although they give you plenty of warning about that). So all in all, this has been a MOST unpleasant experience. Their installer/GC was top-notch. They performed many more functions outside of installation and performed flawlessly but each Ikea location employs their own installer/GC so your experience may not be comparable to mine. FINALLY: Pay no attention to Ikea's claim that a certain 10 x 10 will ONLY cost you $X,XXX amount of dollars. WRONG!! Here's how it really breaks out: My cabinets, a double-oven and a microwave cost approx. $13,000 (without countertop). The Traemond install was approx. $4,500. I opted for concrete countertops and that was $5,000. Now I also engaged Ikea/Traemond's GC to perform the electrical, plumbing and painting modes. Those totaled $ 14,500 plus. read more

My husband and I visited the IKEA store in Oak Creek, where I was thinking that, with all of the hype, whether it was on TV or in the papers, I was totally unimpressed with the entire store. They have arrows directing you, and signs above you, making things terribly confusing! With their layout, I felt like I was walking in circles! As we were looking at things, they seemed to be awfully expensive, whereas I could buy an item at Walmart for $10, and basically the same item, would be $15 at IKEA. After wasting about 90 minutes walking around, and picking up a couple of cheap items, we wanted to get a snack, in the food area. There were SO many people in line, that you could barely see the cashiers at the counters! Needless to say, we didn't even bother! THEN...We went to the checkouts! There had to be at least 10 people waiting in each line! The cashiers were extremely S...L...O...W...! Once I paid for our purchases, I was standing there waiting, for my items to be bagged, as I watched the cashier start the next customer's order. When he turned around and looked at me strangely, I asked him if I could get my purchases bagged. He told me that I could bag them if I PURCHASED one of their blue IKEA bags. I said, "You're kidding, right???" He told me that they don't supply the bags. WHAT?????? I will NEVER go back there again! read more

The online site stated there were 4 items in stock of which I needed to purchase 2. When I arrived at the store, there were none, and the Ikea person "helping" me had no clue. There aren't staff around to help, and there is no direct phone number for the store. And over 3 weeks for delivery? Covid or not, that is unacceptable. I will never go there again. Before going to IKEA Oak creek, I prepared a list of items to purchase based on website availability. However, when I arrived to the store, had a difficult time finding said items because of the poorly marked giant maze of showrooms. Forget asking for help, it was a busy Saturday and yet no sales associates around! read more

It was amazing to me as a handicapped person as large as Ikea is they had no electric carts for handicap access

This is a great store if you feel like walking around in a maze. The layout of the store is horrible. I was close to having an anxiety attack because I thought I was never getting out. There is no employee on sight only until you reach the check out. Horrible experience. read more

Ok. This is how the country can reopen safely. Ikea is requiring masks and everyone is wearing them. They have masks at the door, and hand sanitizer everywhere. The line is set up for physical distancing. I've always loved ikea. Right now, it's the only place locally that I'll go in and shop. Thank you, Ikea Oak Creek -- keep it up! read more

We set an appointment with the Kitchen department a few months ago and while the woman who worked with us was mostly helpful, she was also 20 min late to the appointment and staff members were pretty cold about it. While most of the IKEA staff I've spoken with have been reasonably polite, dealing with the shipping company IKEA uses (North American Logistics) has been an absolute nightmare. A staff member assisted us with rescheduling the delivery date for a dresser about a month ago due to us needing to leave town for a family emergency. We were assured that everything was confirmed for the next week, and we thought we were good to go. Literal minutes before we leave, we see a truck outside with our dresser. wtf? Our kitchen cabinets were supposed to come in two orders. Okay fine. We chose a specific day and specific time frame for both (my husband and I both work, and I'm a grad student so we can't just take random days off to be home all day). We chose 4-9 pm Tuesday of this week for the one. I get phone calls at 2 pm telling me the truck is there and that there will be a fee if I can't be reached. Excuse me, what? I mean, this is why we chose the specific time frame we did, which was confirmed via phone TWICE. IKEA "waived the fee as a courtesy" lol. After 45 minutes on hold, I finally spoke on the phone with North American Logistics about scheduling a redelivery time, which I shouldn't have even had to do in the first place. Like before, we chose 4-9 pm because that is the only time my husband and I are able to be home during the days they said they'd be available. The woman agreed, and said I'd get a call the next day to confirm. I do get a call, and the robot voice tells me "truck will be there from 10-2 pm". looool! Okay, so I take the day off today, which was hard to convince my supervisor to let me do, and resulted in sacrificing a weekend day (the only time I typically get to work on my house/do homework). I get a call from IKEA this morning telling me that the Friday (today) delivery has been CANCELLED and will arrive tomorrow with the second shipment. This shipment is scheduled from between 4-9 but I'm betting anything it will show up many hours outside of that window. Incredible. The lack of communication between North American Logistics, IKEA, and their customers is unreal, and I have been continuously frustrated with every step of the getting-our-stuff-here process for both of the orders I've placed with them. For this reason, I will probably not purchase from IKEA in the future unless it's possible to pick the stuff up myself and drive it home. read more

Maybe it changes but right now it is not the place where I want to spend my afternoon. Came in on a Saturday morning and there is NO PARKING !!! People are parked on grass in loading 15 min area, everywhere where they could squeeze in. Inside is not any better. People on top of people, little kids running reckless and carts bumping on your ankles. The restaurant area is not any better. People get to the serving area and then they stare at the menu deciding between 4-5 meals for 10-15 minutes. For god sakes take one of everything. it's cheep. Cashier area: there are long long lines, and I realized that "ikea shoppers" are not the friendliest kind. It will be a while before I venture in again. read more
