As many would say, it's a love hate relationship with IKEA. It's the perfect one stop shop for almost anything you could need for your home / apartment. Almost anytime I move into a new place, I take a drive down to IKEA in Stoughton. Went on a Saturday in this case - must have been the longest line I've seen in my life. Took me an hour and a half of waiting to get through the line, even taking into account I got there maybe only 20 minutes after they opened for the day. Went on a Monday a couple months back and there was no line... just walked right in. IKEA does enforce a lot of social distancing which is what slows the line down a bit, its worth it though. Per usual left with $400 worth of furniture and kitchen stuff, which is nothing compared to what others walk away with. If you need anything from furniture, to kitchen, bedroom.... you name it and IKEA has it. Take a trip by if you are OK with a long wait. read more

It was a great experience. I had gone in to pick up a too good to go bag which is a dinner or lunch bag or whatever. It's an end of the day food saver bag so you get meals or dinners or desserts etc. that they sell there in their restaurant café for a reduced price OK we should that date it was I believe 499. I got a chicken tender dinner. I got a meatball dinner And dessert for that price and then I also picked up an order for my daughter for my grandson of a new kitchen set and I walked around for a while cause I was early and ended up picking like another $40 worth of stuff. Lol. Which is so easy cause I have that clearance section there and I found some awesome frying pans for like three dollars and then a couple I got for $1.49 which are amazing they like their $20 pans but they had an overstock and then one of the pans was, three dollars I believe because the man said they were stamped with the instructions from Canada from their other warehouses and they couldn't sell them on the floor in the Massachusetts ones because they had Canadian instructions and stuff on them. Guys...you lost me when you made it extremely difficult to find the shopping carts. LAME. Upon entering the facility the restroom had a toilet that needed an exorcism and would not stop flushing. Not very environmentally friendly huh IKEA? The layout is horrific. It makes all of the customers angry. People are wandering around the store like a horde of hungry zombies. Online store showed my nearest IKEA (Stoughton) had many items in stock. The online order / checkout said "one or more of your items is out of stock" and to adjust my order. But it didn't tell me which was out of stock!! I dug around, and each item did show to be in stock! WTF IKEA!? This is the 3rd time I've tried to order in a week and been blocked by different things. I called the number and it claims to be high call volume every time, and then 'goodbye'. No recourse. The email function at the contact us page shows only one form field option: Cancel Order. When you walk into IKEA, you can visualize what your future apartment or house can look like. So many beautiful rooms with the most amazing lights and furniture. This place can give you so many ideas. The only downside is, everything has to be assembled.If you're good with directions you will be fine. I can't stand reading directions!I I can't even put a three leg table together. I think IKEA is now offering assembly from a third-party.. If you go to the actual store, be prepared to stand in line for a while. The lines of people resemble that of a super market before an impending blizzard lol. I guess it's because there are not that many locations in the north east so people travel from all over to visit this lovely store. I I found some amazing light fixtures that are so unique and really cool. Their furniture is not comfortable but they look nice. They do an excellent job showing how to use limited space and make it functional. And yes, their kitchens are really pretty. IKEA is a wonderful place! read more

We drove a little over an hour to get here! God how I wish there was a location closer to us. Anyway, you can easily spend hours and hours browsing anything and everything for a home. After about an hour here, we headed to the restaurant to beat the dinner crowd. The smoked salmon with potato salad was delicious! The cakes and cheesecakes were underwhelming. The salmon fillet was dry so I wouldn't get it again. However the meatballs were alright....they aren't as awesome as everyone makes them out to be but they're certainly better than the veggies balls which consist mostly of oatmeal and some spices it seems. This location is pretty clean when I compare it to others I've been to where people are literally sleeping or snoring in the beds lol I'm looking forward to returning soon - they've got some great gadgets for the kitchen! read more

I live an hour away from IKEA and I had to make two trips in one day. I purchased a dining table and as I got home, I realized that there were no nails to connect the pieces. I simply called customer service and he suggested that I visit the store to pick up a spare set of nails. If not, they offered to mail me the nails; however, it would take 7 business days. We opted to revisit the store to pick up the missing nails. The store is very organized and always had employees throughout the store to help find and/or order an item. They are also known for their iconic cinnamon rolls. I would recommend getting them when they have a fresh batch available. read more

NEVER ORDER ANYTHING FROM IKEA...........WHATEVER YOU DO ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH IKEA. We placed an order for a couch and chair on 7/31/24 and it I now 8/21/24 and we still have yet to see it....... When we placed the order online it said that all items were in stock and would be shipped very soon and got an estimated delivery date. Within an hour of placing the order, we were notified that the delivery was delayed because all of the items were not in stock. So, we waited and after a few days got a new delivery date. We received a conformation for the delivery the night before. So, the next day comes and we are not hearing from the delivery company RXO. Out of the blue I received an email saying that my order was not able to be delivered. The delivery company RXO NEVER contacted us and they were delivering to an unoccupied home as we were not moved in and living there yet. So now we reached out to the delivery company RXO to see I they could come back later in the day, and they said they would. We they DID NOT show up and again did not contact us. So, we called back again to reschedule the delivery ASAP. Ikea told us we had to contact the delivery company, so this is what we did. After much back and forth, they said they could deliver the items in a few days. So, we took time out of work and busy schedules and waited for the delivery at our new home. Finally, around noon time, we decided to call because again we were not hearing anything from anyone. After well over an hour on the phone, we were told they were not coming that day. Again, no contact what so ever from anyone. At this point we were getting extremely upset with the situation. Every day we would call Ikea and Ikea would tell us to call the delivery company. Then the delivery company said we had to call Ikea. There is not even any communication between Ikea and the delivery company. After several days and hours wasted on the phone, we were given another delivery date. Well, that date came and went and guess what....... NOTHING WAS DELIVERED. So again, we call, and voiced how appalled we were with this entire process. All we got was, "I'm sorry" At this point sorry does not help. I WANT ANSWERS and we were not getting them. Ikea absolutely downright refused to do anything to help us. Again, they told us to talk to the delivery company. So, we reached out to them again and guess what....... we were told there was nothing they could do and we had to talk to Ikea. We were then told that it would be another week until we would get the delivery. We that did not work for us and we told them this. Out of the blue on day they changed the delivery date on us without even reaching out to see if that day would even work for us. We are absolutely disgusted with the way we were treated and nothing was done to help us AT ALL. Every person we spoke with at Ikea and the shipping company RXO did absolutely nothing to fix what they messed up and nothing at all to help us in any way. It's a crazy time here at the beginning of September. I wish I could give more stars since the products are easy to assemble, fairly priced, and there's a wide variety, but the service (at least at this hectic time) is extremely frustrating. Main problem: INCONSISTENCY around every corner! So many things are out of stock and it's unclear when they will be in stock again. There's no way to put an item on hold for when it's in stock; you have to just keep checking the website. That would be fine if the website were reliable, but the website is often slow, missing things (or at least hard to search for specific things), and links to broken pages. Sometimes buttons lead to unclear error messages. You don't know that something can't be bought online until very late into the process (shouldn't you be able to know as soon as you choose your location whether something can be delivered to your location?). For some items, it says out of stock but the prognosis says many are in stock. Inconsistency #1! I tried to call customer service to get my online woes resolved. However, my call was often dropped due to too many people calling at the same time (and there's no system for holding or getting a call back when there's an available agent). When I finally got on the line, I seemed to get some helpful information, but I forgot to ask about a specific detail. When I called back again to inquire about the same issue, I got a completely different answer. Inconsistency #2! In store, there are a lot of information kiosks where you can check the location of the pieces to pick up for different furniture. Those kiosks are also unreliable; some of them perform searches and load pages super slowly or not at all. As a result, there was a huge line forming for the few kiosks that did work. The last straw for me was when I was trying to get delivery after checking out. The computer used for processing delivery was apparently "very slow because it hasn't been used yet today" (it was already around 2:30pm when I was there). It took around 5 whole minutes just to look up when the next available delivery slot would be. Edit: The real last straw was when I chose 5-9pm as my delivery time but the delivery man knocked on my door at 10am. His paper did say that my delivery should be in the 10am-2pm window, but I had paper proof that 5-9pm was entered into the system when I was ordering delivery! Obviously somewhere the IKEA system went wrong and changed the time... Inconsistency #3! In general, the staff do seem to try their best but they are definitely overwhelmed. My cashier was helping someone get an IKEA family account while simultaneously scanning my items while simultaneously helping someone else with something else. I didn't feel valued as an individual at all, but it seemed like she really needed to do all these things at the same time since the store was so busy. Some pros: The food court is amazing. The line moves pretty quickly, the prices are cheap, and the food tastes quite good (I love the meatballs, mac and cheese, garlic bread, and chicken tenders). They do a good job of building up your anticipation while you're going through the showroom and then having the food court at the end of the showroom; it feels like a reward after the hard work of looking through all the furniture options, and a refueling before having to pick up pieces before checking out. The showroom itself is also nicely organized and set up to give a lot of ideas. If you need delivery, I still suggest going in store (if you have the time and patience). You'll get delivery sooner for cheaper. I live in Cambridge; online delivery would be $79 and not available till ~10 days from the date of ordering, but in store I was able to get next-day delivery for $59. IKEA needs to improve their technology system and streamline their operations to lighten the load on their human employees and offer a more bearable, consistent experience for their customers. I've decided to get much of my furniture second-hand or from Costco or Amazon because of my frustrating experiences with IKEA. read more

I will never buy anything from IKEA online again. When an item comes damaged they will not take it back easily. They want the customer to dispose of the item - their trash. It has taken me almost a month and many, many long phone calls to get a resolution. Today is Oct 11. I have been trying to return a damaged shoe bench since Sept 16. They have told me numerous times that they would send me a label to return the item, via email and then by mail. I have not received a label. They were going to give me a refund, but I would have to dispose of it myself. It does not fit in my trash can. They said they could have it picked up, but it would take over a week. I do not have the confidence that they will pick it up. There is no way to escalate the case to a supervisor so the customer service people have tried to help, but do not have the tools to do a good job. I will now wait 10 days for a refund and then donate it to Habitat for Humanity. I will write damaged corner, needs to be put together. I will never again order anything online at IKEA and I will tell my friends to never,never order anything online from IKEA. read more

As adorable and likeable as Swedes are, it's reassuring to know that the ability to birth horrible monoliths of willful exploitation is not confined to Americans. I get where Ikea fits into the disposable lifestyle economy, and that's probably why it's going to be kind of tough to never go there again. This company gave me the worst customer service experience I've ever had and I've shopped at Target. First, we were double-charged for some $100 plywood box, the OMATHORPE or whatever it was called. Fine, so we call up to explain and get the refund. Two weeks later we get a call back that they reviewed the video footage and concluded that we actually did buy two OMATHORPES and thus they were closing our ticket goodbye. Mull on that for a minute. They reviewed video footage. Someone, paid probably $15/hr spend a couple hours seeking the footage, reviewing it, ruling against us and calling us to tell us we're wrong. Over $100. I called back, explained the situation and they told me that we'd have to drive to the store to do anything. But they couldn't give us the number. Nor could they schedule a call. We had to go, in person, to retrieve our $100. I've never experienced that level of obnoxious. I'm done with IKEA. I'll get my placeholder furniture somewhere else. read more

Come for furniture, leave with meatballs. At least that was what I did when I first visited IKEA. If you are moving and are in need of any furnishing related, IKEA got your back. From tupperware and utensils to mattresses and sofas. The store is set up like any other store with the main display on the top floor where you are guided through various rooms of your house with sample displays. The bottom floor is the warehouse floor where you can pick up all your items. The food court is also located on the top floor to the left as you get off the escalator. IKEA really does it well in balancing price with quality of the items that they well. I recently purchased an extra warm down comforter with at least 75% down for under $100 as well as guest slippers that were on sale for under $2. Whatever it is that you need, you are bound to find here in store. read more

This is about as real as a 3 star can be... it's extremely hit or miss. When you get someone who cares about their job and helping it's a 5 star experience. Unfortunately there are a number of people who just don't care and don't actually want to help you. There is no sign telling you to sign in the tablet so I sat here for 10 minutes while numerous employees have come and gone including some just hanging out in the back while there is one employee actually taking returns... from someone who has returned about 20 items on multiple orders and payment methods... not once did anyone offer or did he call for help. Having someone come out so it just wasn't the one employee working in the one customer would have helped the now significantly longer line that has people with one or two items. read more

IKEA outdoor furniture states that it will withstand all weather. We purchased the BONDHOLMEN outdoor dining set in August 2022. When we opened up our patio in April 2023, we realized that the entire set was pealing paint. IKEA would not give a credit or replacement as it had been longer than 6 months. The set did not even make it through one winter, 8 months later the set is unusable and IKEA refused to do anything. I would think the return policy would be flexible for items that basically fall apart in 8 months, especially since we obviously were not out on our patio in Feb (the 6 month mark) in Massachusetts. We've waited about 3 months for the color we wanted to be in stock, we messaged with chat online, set up alerts, everything. Finally we get the heads up it's back and we place a pickup order (it was too small for delivery). I drive an hour out to pick it up during my pickup window, wait 20 minutes for them to go back and get it, and they come back to tell me it's out of stock and the best they can do is store credit. I asked if there was anyway for me to get the product I paid for and the answer was no. What a terrible way to do business. Would give zero star if that was an option. The delivery company used by Ikea XPO is super horrible. The delivery people don't call ahead. They are mean and hostile on the phone. On one shipment, they left while we were waiting at the loading dock of our building. They just keeping us standing there without explaining why they just left. They got into a fight with our building's maintenance crew, who were directing them from front door street parking to the loading dock. On another shipment, they just never showed up but recorded that we rejected delivery. Ikea needs to take accountability for selecting such a bad delivery vendor and for not monitoring the vendor. I watched a short youtube video explaining the phenomenon why people tend to overshop at Ikea- 1. they design their store intentionally like a maze so you're more likely to buy something once you're interested knowing that's it's inconvenient to walk back and 2. they always start off with show rooms to build anticipation-- once you're released to the sea of products, you're more likely to buy post anticipation. Sign up for the family membership card for free at an electronic kiosk located at the entrance. Nice discounts at the cafeteria. The cafeteria: Amazeballs. Now I understand why my friends rave about it. My recs: ++15 Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes, lingonberry jam, and cream sauce for $5.99. Add $2.00 for soup and a soda for free with the family card. ++Barbecue ribs with fries for $7.99. The fries were delightfully crunchy. ++Free coffee or tea with your family membership card at checkout at every Ikea visit. Awesome! The shopping: The show rooms are stunning and a great place to get inspiration in terms of decorating and a subtle reminder- dang, you can't afford this lifestyle until you got a big bank. Instructions for building furniture are straightforward as long as you're paying attention to the fine details. For the most part, quality matches quantity in that items will start to breakdown after some wear and tear. But great buys for just starting out. read more

Came here with my boyfriends mother a few times and best part of that was the food in their cafeteria haha! I'm not really a fan of shopping myself unlike most girl so I just go there because she asks me to go and I don't think she want to drive in the highway either! For the products in there, you get all the designs and ideas of rooms and details from chairs to whatever you name, I think it's there. I can't think of anything that you can't find in ikea when it comes to homes and designs. Even kitchen wares and shoe racks are there as well. Even indoor plants can also be found there. The only thing is that I don't like is the place is like a maze. If you're not up to spending your whole afternoon walking around I don't suggest going there cause looking for the exit would take forever and lines are pretty long too. Been to the store many times and daunting experience beginning with parking lot. I see why people prefer on line ordering, Amazon delivery. Stressful parking, then long walk to store. Same items usually with never new innovations? Even if I wanted to order a kitchen? Looks confusing creating a design? Should modernize and have phone APO to scan items wanting to buy and order picked ... pushing cart around warehouse trying to pile 3 tons of furniture on to cart, push through register, then Load pile of sh$t into auto if it fits? Not a business model people want any longer... so I buy only small stuff there and carry my blue bag around that I have to pay 99 cents for but good for groceries or shopping elsewhere as strong and holds rocks if needed too. Maybe a dessert and coffee looks good. Then a horror show at home getting labels off items... one item had 5 different labels on it? Wtf that needed for? Long lines for food, waiting lists of 1 hr approximately, out of stock in sheet color I came for, 50 minute drive for nothing, still waiting on line for food. Total waste, not first time they were out of stock, or what I came for was discontinued. Additionally, why would management let these long lines happen at the food concession without putting on additional help to make the line move. Sure seemed like the tables in the dining area were spaced out a lot and more seating could be made available. Yesterday I look online for the sheets I wanted, now it shows that you can't get a replacement of turquoise without buying a set which I don't need. Annoying. Yes it's commitment for sure to take the trip but using the IKEA apps you can easily make lists and find locations of items before you get there! Came here on a Thursday morning! I had the best experience, store was quiet and I had help finding my items. There was even staff waiting in car loading area to assist you with lifting purchases into you car. I have been here on a weekend and it was a zoo!
