You need not be an avid cyclist to shop here, though, as the staff makes up for it. Every member of the shop's staff that I have met throughout the years has the utmost care and concern for you and your bike, even if you bought your Huffy at Meijer's. Not many shops in Michigan can say that. I unfortunately worked for some. If by some astronomical chance you are not Karen and something goes wrong, the staff will happily work with you to make it right. There are not many good cycling shops in East Michigan, but this shop is one of the best, if not the best. They say you get what you pay for, but here you get more.

They have some of the best service I have ever received when it comes to bicycles. I have personally bought my own bike here 3 years ago, and it's still going strong. They really took the time to assess what was important to me in a bike and made suggestions around that. They seriously have about 60+ bikes for adults in the showroom along with another 20+ for kids as well as one of the most complete parts/accessories selection around. You're a skater you say? No worries. They have you covered as well. Boards, wheels, bearings, tattoos, meth...Hey you kids! Stay of my grass! Damn kids, with their hip and their hop! Okay, so I have no clue what boarders like or need, but they have a nice selection of things that one could ask for....I tried to be like Tony Hawk and do a 920 McTwist, but wouldn't you know McDonald's doesn't serve anything like that. I think Avril Lavigne was there last time but that's unconfirmed :) I have twice been here in the past 3 months getting tires fixed (flats) that cost me less than $12 (including labor) each to fix. - That's fantastic! They are quick to greet you, take your bike, and get it fixed all while you are waiting. The owner, Al, has been there every time I have been in there which says a lot to me as far as being hands on. I have found him extremely kind, funny and genuine. The bad? Really nothing. I can say that the other employees are young (late teens - early 20's) and aren't very polished with customer service skills/interactions so it seems that they are very awkward speaking to people. The prices for the bikes (not accessories) are higher than your average Target or Trash-mart (Walmart) but the lifetime tuneups and service well make up for it. Plus, I'm a huge small business supporter. Do yourself a favor, next time you are in the market for a new bike or board, need service or just have questions, take a trip to Al's Quick Release - it's well worth the trip. Now, if you don't mind, I need to squeeze into these bicycle shorts (illegal in 35 countries), and go meet Lance Armstrong...

By the time i came back to pick it up Tom had tuned it up beautifully, also telling me he replaced a wire. He not only made the bike perfect, but he didn't charge me an arm and a leg for it. I learned a valuable lesson by taking my e-bike to another shop to get my brakes bled only to discover they broke a delicate connector on my bike making it no longer functional. Called Matt and he came over and picked it up along with another bike that needed a tune up and better kickstand. He promised the bike back back in less than 2 days and had them done earlier. When he came to drop it off he showed my Mom how it worked and even worked with her to get used to it. We also noticed one of the other bikes had a flat tire due to a hole, he brought out his bike stand and fixed the tire.
