I can't believe I've lived in College Park for three years and I just learned about Ikhlas. I was craving fried fish and my sis told me about this spot. So far, I've had food here twice in the month of June and will definitely be back. My first visit I had the 2-piece red snapper dinner with mac n cheese and fried okra $21.87. My second visit I had the 2-piece whiting dinner with mac n cheese and fried okra $17.87. I have also tried their bean pie $4.39. My last visit I added on a side of flounder $4.99 and it came with two small pieces. I didn't really like the red snapper, but it's a personal preference, it's a little too thick for me and I didn't like that they kept the skin at the bottom when they fried, I don't want any skin on my fish when I eat it. The whiting was very good and fried just how I like it. So, make sure you select the correct cooking options when you place your harder, I selected hard and crispy. The flounder was my favorite; it was perfectly fried and seasoned. I'm going to get the flounder dinner next time with coleslaw. Mac n cheese is okay, not great just okay, I add a little jerk seasoning to it when I get home. The okra is very good! I also enjoy their bean pie; it has a nice spice flavor and the perfect serving. I do not like their tartar sauce, it's not thick, it's too watery and doesn't have a taste that I personally care for. The hot sauce is all I need or I add a little siracha to their tartar sauce and it's perfect. I place my order online and it's always ready when I arrive. There is free parking and it's never a problem entering or exiting the lot. When you enter go to the pick up area to the left if you placed your order online. Service was friendly both times. We recently placed a catering order from Ikhlas Seafood & Pastries for a coworker's birthday celebration, and it worked out really well. We ordered the 100-wing special along with a tray of fries. The wings were $79.99, which I thought was a great value, especially since you're able to choose up to four different flavors. We went with Sweet Sassy, Mild, Teriyaki, and Lemon Pepper Dry, so everyone had a little something to choose from. The fries deserve their own shout-out because the tray is huge. I'd easily say it feeds about 8-10 people, making it a great addition to a group order. The woman at the counter was very kind and also gave me a helpful heads-up that the fries don't come pre-seasoned. She pointed me to the seasoning station so I could add seasoning before taking the order back to work, which I really appreciated. As for the wings, everyone enjoyed them. Even though I'm usually a Lemon Pepper person, the Teriyaki ended up being my favorite of the bunch. It was packed with flavor and definitely stood out to me. Since this visit was strictly for a catering order, I'd love to come back and try a meal from the regular menu. This is a great little go-to when you want to grab food for a group or a party. Definitely a to-go spot for me, but seating is there so enjoying your order on-site is an option. There's something about the batter for the fish that is SO good. Crunchy and flavorful. It's unmatched in its lane. And there's a special little place in my heart for the fried scallops, too. Little did I know this place was so close to me ! I patiently waited until my day off to stop by.., around 3pm the place was quiet.. clean and comfortable as I walked in. Beautiful plants. Great service and my food was made to order. I tried the fish and wing combo.. $10. The breading was tasty on both. I love that I was given tartar sauce and hot sauce upon request.. and plenty. I finally found my fried chicken and fish spot. Gone are the days of the other mediocre well know spot In the area. This is way better for that price, experience and quality of food. I ordered the fish sandwich, which I was told comes on their house-baked hoagie roll--sounds great in theory. Unfortunately, the fish itself was a letdown. It was fried too hard and had a taste that made it seem like it wasn't fresh. Definitely not to my liking, and now I remember why I hadn't returned for fish before. On a brighter note, they do have a wide variety of cakes and pastries, which looked pretty good--those might actually be worth coming back for. Do better, Ikhlas. If you live on the southside, any place that is not fast food is appreciated. That location is the best thing I can say about my experience here. I got a large order of shrimp plus hushpuppies, slaw, and a cake slice. The shrimp has a tasty peppery kinda thick breading but the shrimp itself is absolutely tasteless, certainly not "fresh." Hushpuppies are not southern kind but an over fried cakey dough. Cake was mediocre at best. Everything shared an underlying smell and taste - apparently they use the same low quality oil for everything. Weird twist - Staff member was very nice, all the customers were grumpy. read more

I am very disappointed with my experience, I was promised that my order would be ready by 3:02 PM, when I arrived at 3:05 I was not greeted until 3:15PM. After that, I sat in line for over 20 minutes with no update or communication regarding my order. A simple update or acknowledgment would have made a difference, but the lack of customer service and communication was frustrating. Customers should not be left waiting without any information, especially when a pickup time was already provided. I hope management works on improving communication and timeliness moving forward. I was feeling my Catholic roots and decided on fish for Friday. Ordered the two piece fish (flounder) and 5 shrimp for delivery. Also got some teriyaki wings. I would absolutely order fish again. They cook it to be crispy but not all dried out and I ordered a couple homemade sauces... loved them all. Honorary mention to the Cole slaw which was top notch. They obviously make it scratch and grind the cabbage like I grew up with. Mac and cheese was fine, flavorful but not memorable. The food is amazing! I normally don't like tartar sauce but this was the only place that actually changed my mind. The shrimps are delicious, big and juicy. The service was nothing amazing but there was no bad energy. It does take a minute to get your food but that's because it's made fresh to order. However, the wait is definitely worth it. I love when I find good places to eat not far from home. My friend recommended this place to me and I am so glad. I did not go there to pick it up but I will make my way over there because the food is great. I had the Whiting and it was great!!! Nice crisp to it and the seasoning was amazing. I am not a fan of coleslaw but it is very uniquely delicious. It was crisp and fresh with a bite to it. If you don't like spicy then order something else but I recommend you at least try it. What they are known for: chicken wings, chicken tenders, white fish etc. I so wanted to get the chicken wings but I knew I would be struggling to finish the wings. Instead I ordered chicken tenders and fries. The different sauce options with the hot chicken was delicious. Sam M ordered a chicken sandwich, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The employee at the counter was detailed in describing the menu since we had never been. While waiting for our food, many people ordered the box option of 20 wings for $20 or 10 piece white fish for $20. A lot of patrons did this as a pick up order. We had some time before going to the airport, so we sat in one of the booths. Not much sitting area inside, but outside has some more sitting availability. They have several fried seafood options and baked goods available. I decided on the whiting combo with shrimp. It comes with fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. When my order came up, it was piping hot and smelled awesome. I couldn't wait to dig in! The batter was light, crispy and seasoned to perfection. The portion was very generous. We Ubered to Ikhlas because there is a UHaul truck pick-up in the back parking lot. The truck didn't have any keys, so we went inside Ikhlas to wait. The food looked amazing. We had a long wait for UHaul to figure out how to fix their mistake so we ordered lunch. The fried catfish was amazing. They made it fresh to order and I also really liked the hush puppies and coleslaw. Besides the food, the people that work at Ikhlas are awesome, sweet people. They let us hang out there for a couple of hours because we were from out of town, had our baggage, and had nowhere to go until we heard from UHaul. It takes a while to get your food here because they make everything to order, which is a good thing. That allowed us the time to visit with locals who were waiting on their food.
