I have taken my daughter to iKids (Mansfield) since her first scheduled dental checkup. Initial experience was good so we continued getting services every six months, with reasonable quality. Most recent appointment was yesterday. Due to a slight delay picking up my daughter from daycare, I informed (via response text) that I might be about 15 minutes late. Normally, this should not be an issue since every visit has us wait a lot longer than that past the scheduled time. I made sure to make it to the clinic as soon as I could, and was at the reception at 4:08. There was no one at the front desk, and I waited around 9-10 minutes before the person showed up. She told me that they had responded to my text telling me that I will to reschedule. I wasn't going to check my text while driving. She then told me, "we ask to reschedule if you are more than 10 minutes late". I told her, I wasn't, its just that there was no one at the front desk and had to wait a while (she was away during that time). She looked around and told me: "I can reschedule you to tomorrow morning", as if parents have all the free time in the world. Normally, if they didn't make us wait 15+ minutes in the lobby after check-in, this would be at least reasonable. And her attitude came across as unwelcoming and disrespectful. I told her, if it can't be done today, I will simply cancel, and I walked out. I will be taking my daughter to another, better rated, dentist, and I am done with iKids. read more

This worst! I hate this place. The kids don't care but they make us wait forever. They skip us and the front staff is so fake and smiley and they make sure you pay the price in time. Our first visit was exceptional!! It was better than I expected. The waiting areas look amazing with TV, iPad, and game rooms for the kids. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was a little bit nervous at first because my son has Autism and I wasn't so sure how it'll go until I met Dr. Blaine Hamilton. He was very sweet, patient, and kind towards my son. Let me start from the beginning. My daughter had an appointment at 8 am for a routine check-up. As always, they took an x-ray and came up with a treatment plan. However, the doctor didn't have time to go over the treatment plan with me and had his medical assistant do it instead. I specifically told the doctor, Dr. Leavitt, that my daughter had a white spot on the front of her tooth that I wanted treated. He acknowledged this and said they could schedule it, instructing me to check with the front desk for availability before walking away. I then asked the medical assistant if she could check if there was a spot available to treat the front tooth while we were already there, as I had taken time off for the appointment. She agreed and left to check. However, it was taking a long time, so I asked another assistant the same thing. While checking out, I reiterated to the front desk about treating the white spot on my daughter's front tooth and asked if there was availability that day. After consulting with the doctor, she said it wouldn't take long and they could do it that day, so I agreed. They took my daughter to the back for the treatment. She seemed very uncomfortable and was crying, which concerned me. I asked the doctor why she had to go through this discomfort just to treat the front tooth spot, and the doctor responded that they were starting from the back. I was confused but trusted the process. When they finished, my daughter was still crying, and I noticed they hadn't done anything to the front tooth. I asked why they hadn't treated the front spot, and the doctor nonchalantly replied that they had done a filling in the back instead. This was not what I had asked for. Despite me explaining several times to different staff members, including the doctors, the medical assistants, and the receptionist, they proceeded with a treatment I did not authorize. The doctor dismissed my concerns, saying it wasn't a big deal and was something all kids need. However, I felt completely unheard and disrespected. After being a patient for nine years, I am extremely disappointed. It seems like this place is more interested in making money than listening to the patients' needs and concerns. I visited the dentist for an emergency appointment today, January 31, 2025, due to my child's severe tooth pain. Following an x-ray and cleaning, the dentist suggested rescheduling another appointment for the extraction. We expressed our concerns and discussed them with the doctor, who responded by saying, 'Why don't you pull it yourself at home?' What kind of dental professional behaves in this manner? I strongly advise against bringing your child to this dentist. read more

Brought my kids up there and they "couldn't input their new insurance" for whatever reason so they tried to reschedule us. They said they called and left a voicemail but they lied and by the looks of the reviews, lying seems to be a trend here. He came into the room never sat down nor attempted to make my child feel comfortable. DON'T EVEN BOTHER!!! Extremely dissapointed. Busy place, no personal attention. They refused to bill our secondary insurance for the copay, stating that the $25 copay was "a requirement" to use our insurance & it goes "directly to the insurance company". They get you in & out from room to room like a herd of cattle. We clearly stated no XRAY for our 4 year old boy & they went behind my back, getting the XRAY anyway, then charged the insurance company, even after Dr. Hamilton himself stated that it was a mistake & they wouldn't bill. First they changed my 3 kids appointment 10:40 instead of 11 without notifying me and we arrived at 10:53 and they wouldn't see my kids. We are new patients to this Dentist and were sent via email the paperwork to fill out prior to the appointments. We did this and sent it back via the instructions. Low and behold when we got there they could not find the paperwork. When asked if we filled this out online or via the email, we answered and she said oh "we are new and still are not sure where the emails are going". WTH and if that really is the truth then state that the forms need to be filled out online. Not too complicated. Anyways l, we filled the paperwork out again and went to hang out in the game room area where very few of the gaming systems work. Long story short, I am not a fan of this place. I was going to give this office one more chance since I don't like moving my boys around. Today I called the Mansfield office three times. The first message said I was third in line and within minutes first, however no one ever picked up. The second call said I was first in line, several minutes later still no one ever picked up. The third call again said I was third in line, within minutes first and no one ever picked up. I've never had a doctor's office that NEVER answer their phone. This place has gone SO DOWNHILL. We have been bringing my special needs sister here for 10 years now and all of a sudden they "have had a change in management and are not accepting special needs clients (adults) anymore." Not sure about special needs kids but it sounds like a pain for them to have to deal with anyone with special circumstances anymore so be warned. We loved seeing Dr. Randy for the first few years, but the past few times we saw him he was distant and cold, not nice at all anymore. Super distracted and acted like he was over it. Blaine was nicer and had better bedside manner but since he's still there and they aren't allowing special needs people anymore then he's probably part of the problem as well. Also, we wouldn't have even known my sister couldn't be a patient anymore because we had to call them to reschedule an appointment we made before the snow storm last week. No one answers the phone. No one cares. It's gross. I guess they were just hoping we'd fall through the cracks and find somewhere else to go. Granted we used to love this place, they were so kind for so many years. But everyone on the phone (when you can actually get someone on the phone) is so rude and dismissive. It's so sad that people who have been loyal patients and have helped these people build this practice just get tossed like garbage when "new management" takes over, if that's even the case. Have been going to Ikids for 6 years. The service has had a serious decline in the past visit. My daughter had her 6 mo check up and it was fine. We retuned for a filling weeks later. Waiting for 45 min to be taken back, then being told it would not take long I figured that would make up for the wait. 35 min later I went to the front desk to ask if she was almost done, they asked me if she had gone back, when I asked if she was almost done I did state her original appointment time. She did happen to be done. She was in the back. I never saw the dentist, just the tech. Got the instructions from the tech. Thought seeing the dentist would be nice. But, guess that isn't protocol. I never take the time to write reviews but after receiving the RED CARPET treatment I wanted to share. I have three kids and was forced to change my dental office due to our insurance. I started to call around and found out that there are some places that will not allow you to go back with your children, RED FLAG! I decided try IKids Pediatric even though it was further away than the other places. From the beginning we received the red carpet. I have never experienced customer service like I received there from EVERYONE! Dr. Hamilton was very nice and took his time explaining everything. My children were calm and at ease and even got to pick out a prize after their procedure aside from the goodie dental bag that was already given to them. I have nothing, but great things to say about iKids. My daughter's previous dentist was not informative and left us with tons of unanswered questions. They didn't engage with my daughter, and they were just missing that "warmth" that is required to work in pediatrics. The staff at IKids, however, were absolutely fantastic with my two-year old. They talked to her and played with her. She used to get very anxious when we would visit her previous dentist, but her anxiety went away immediately after her cleaning and examination at iKids. They answered all of our questions thoroughly, and even did it in a consultation room away from the lap room in which they conducted her exam. My fears and worries have subsided so much after visiting this facility. I would recommend it to anyone! read more

This is a nice dental office for kids. However the billing staff are horrible and need additional training. My son had a dental procedure done in Feb 2016. IKIDS had me pay a copy as they advised this procedure wouldn't be covered. I received the explanation of benefits and that procedure was not included in the claim. To add, my insurance said they DID cover that particular procedure. I called IKIDS and they indicated they did not submit the full claim to my insurance. They finally submitted it and got reimbursed thru my insurance, but I did NOT get my money back. I talked to at least 4 different people and explained this situation and to no avail, it is June and I still haven't received my money back for the covered procedure. In addition, a similar situation happened again to me in June 2016. Fed up and upset! read more

Everyone is super friendly and professional. The dentists always remember the kids and are so kind and informative. I will never take my kids to any other dentist. My kids were fearful of the dentist prior to switching to ikids in Mansfield. Me and my kids are comfortable and trusting of this amazing office. We've been patients there for several years now. Absolutely amazing and have never had a bad experience. Highly recommend!!! Wait time is always less than 20 minutes to be called.
