We ordered the melon with prosciutto, grilled lamb, and pasta carbonara with truffle. The melon and lamb were quite good, but the carbonara with truffle tasted a bit off. To be fair, we live in San Francisco so we are used to a very high quality of restaurants and we also had the most amazing carbonara the night before, but irrespective of this it just wasn't that great. Given how incredible other places in Rome are, I would keep looking. read more

Food here was pretty good! I really just couldn't get over how dirty their menus and utensils were(had to ask for another set). Whenever we had a chance to talk to the waitstaff they were extremely nice, it was just a bit difficult to get their attention. Had lunch - Delicious, but the pastas were almost too rich (had Cacio and carbonara). The Brunello by the glass was fantastic. Maybe more like 4/4.5 stars compared to other places in Rome, but it feels wrong to not give this 5. This is the worst restaurant we have been to in our week in Rome. We trusted the Yelp reviews because they have never let us down, and led us to some gems in Rome like Sapori e Delizie, Betta Nonna, and Frigidarium, but this was the exception. The only edible thing we had here was pizza - the veal was rock hard, the carbonara was dry and undercooked with a sad sprinkling of parmesan on top, and the pasta with vegetables was inedible. I was actually pretty decent. Nothing to go out of your way for. But the pizza & pasta was good, prices fair, and the service was ok.

Had fried artichokes and octopus salad and tonnaarelli pasta with clams and basil. Service was extremely friendly, they were even open around 5pm (when most other restaurants are closed until 7p because of siesta). One of the staff members even offered to take a photo of us. They were kind enough to seat us and even spoke English to us. We tried our best and spoke Italian to them which probably helped us against the stereotype of annoying American tourists. The fried artichokes are unique, never had them in the states, the vegetable is heavily fried in olive oil and you can eat it like chips once you peel it off the stem. The octopus salad tasted a little like tuna salad. Had lots of big pieces of octopus and the carrots and celery were fresh. As of now, I prefer this type of octopus salad because when we order it in the states, it's usually grilled and majority of the time you can taste the burnt taste. They do use a lot of olive oil in the dish, but it didn't feel fattening at all. The main course, the pasta, it was very al dente. In my mind, I thought that the pasta was a little on the raw side. BUT, I will be trying more pasta dishes to make sure this is the norm. If it is, I have a different standard to hold pasta too then. The clams were fresh and despite the dish not being a red sauce dish, it had tons of flavors in it. We did ask for some powder/grated cheese and the guy was like, cheese with mussels? In any case, don't ask for cheese with mussels and pasta, it doesn't go with clams. The cheese they gave us was different from the parmesan cheese we get in the states. My wife and I dined here during our trip to Rome. The food was great and the service was good. My wife had pasta which she thoroughly enjoyed. Love this place! Stumbled upon it while leading around my family on a tour of Rome. Despite the touristy area of Piazza Navona and the streets to the west of it, I had a good feeling about Corallo and decided to eat here. We had fried zucchine flowers, pizza, tomato pasta, pasta carbonara, and tagliata. Everything was amazing and came out hot and fresh! My little brother loved my carbonara so much that he took more than half of my plate. Definitely come here if you're in the area and go to Bar del Fico afterward for a drink! read more

We arrived without a reservation and had to wait probably 30 minutes to get in. It was well worth it. Though this is the pizza shop, we did not have any pizza. We started with the corallo antipasto which was very large and delicious. It included some chicken which had been fried in the salty batter and a mix of vegetables. We also had the roast mussels and clams antipasto. As well as the flore de zucca anti-pasta. We each had pasta as our main dish. one was cream and bacon with truffle oil and the other was a simple tomato and bacon spaghetti both were excellent. The staff were very friendly and attentive. There seem to be quite a number of staff per guest. Many locals came to pick up pizza to-go. It looked great. The following day we did the same. read more

This is a fun place with a great atmosphere. Servers are very on the ball and attentive. Outside seating is where it's at because you can people watch and enjoy good. It's pretty crowded but a very good scene. I had pizza and it was very good. Not the best I have had in Rome but definitely not bad. Wow. Was really hoping for a great dinner for our last night in Italy but was left with utter disappointment. Started off with prosciutto which was supposed to have come with melon and they did not have any. Worst prosciutto we had in Italy. Just giant slabs of meat, not bite sized like we were used too. Next came the caprese. Green unripe tomatoes. I regret not taking a picture of them. I couldn't believe my eyes when they were put on the table. Oh and the bottle of Chardonnay we ordered was actually Sauvignon blanc. Guess there was a misunderstanding there. Not to mention our pasta orders got mixed up. Really could not wait to get out of this place. Ahhhh and they lost our credit card for a brief while when our receipt was brought out to be signed! Glad that experience is over!! read more

Service in Italy as a whole is bad if you're used to the fast pace American style. This place was probably average by Italy standards. Food came out relatively quickly from our waiter, whom was the only 1 of 4 working hard. Most of the other staff were hanging out on their phone or chatting up randoms who would walk by. After three days of eating pasta we took a break from it. I ordered a costela di manzo (rib eye) medium rare. The meat itself was superb; excellent marbling and dry aged yielding a moist, tender steak. The technique was not that good - the steak was overcooked of the outside and completely raw inside (what they call blue, definitely not medium rare). It also lacked salt. My companion had a tomato, mozzarella and anchovy pizza that was just good, not extraordinary. The place is nice, fairly priced, and the service is average. On a positive note. The tiramisu was very good! I was debating myself over 3 vs 4 stars but for me the one extraordinary thing was the quality of the meat, and that is hats off to the butcher, nor the restaurant.
