This place is very family friendly. I've been here a handful of times already within the past few years and never got a chance to write anything. They have great food and great staff here. I would recommend making reservations. They accept large or private parties as they have space upstairs for everyone. They also have backyard space too. I've only gone for dinner, but they're open for lunch and happy hour as well. I must say that their pasta is done well here, I've tried the orecchiette al broccoli rape e sausage, the linguine alla vongole, the cacio e pepe, scampi alla porcini, pollo francese, and I can go on and on. I really wanted to thoroughly enjoy this restaurant but then again I did order from the Restaurant Week Menu which does provide limited items to order. I personally love Italian food, but there was not a lot of pasta options available for the entrees. For restaurant week, the dinner menu was $45/person and offered an appetizer, entree and dessert option. The cocktails we offered were from the regular menu but it was definitely strong and worth it. the appetizer was small and my entree was spicy which I was not expecting. it was relatively average tasting but it was worth it for the price. Came for valentines dinner fiancé had a 8:30. We didn't get seated until 9:42. Server did what he could but he wasn't the best because of all of the demand. Nice guy otherwise. Wouldn't go as far to say he was a bad server bc it was a high stress night and I get it. The food was ok my parm was lukewarm (generous). But taste was there. Can't talk about the food other than mine coming out borderline room temp. But didn't want to complain because we were already late for our show and need to order and leave ASAP. We ordered delivery and the food was awful. The carbonara was over cooked and the pancetta was grey and slimy. The dressing for the Caesar salad was like a yellow mustard dressing. One of my baked (cold) clams was bad and they were sitting in a greasy pool of sad wet, flavorless breadcrumbs. The cheese container they gave us contained what can only be described as combination of sawdust and dandruff. The cheese on the eggplant rollantini was like rubber. Very disappointing. The reviews on Seamless are clearly bot generated and the food that was delivered was clearly made by someone who has never actually tasted or seen what these dishes look like. Reservations was 8pm, didn't get seating until 1 hour later, tight space, even more wait to order ( close to 45 mins) i wanted to feel bad but couldn't because it was extremely unorganized none the less the lack of an apology for wait time due to overbooking was beyond unprofessional!! As we ate, i bit into a huge piece of plastic mixed in from a salad that was not suppose to come with my entree, it almost cut my mouth, told the waiter i don't remember if he even apologized for the issue are not but i had to wait another 10 mins for my re-order but I was very upset! we asked for the check twice and nothing! Il Falco is a bit understated as you walk by it on the street so you wouldn't know that such an authentic and flavorful Italian place awaits within. We got there on the early side so the place was empty when we walked in, but that wouldn't be the case later. The atmosphere is cozy, dimly lit (not dark), with a nice little courtyard area that provides nice ambient outdoor light. The host greeted us immediately when we walked in and the waitstaff were very attentive. We were given some great dining suggestions along with a description of wines that would pair nicely with our dishes. I elected to go with the Pollo Martini and was surprised by how flavorful it was for a rather simple looking dish. I also had a burratta salad which was both, much more tasty and elegantly played than I would have expected. I probably would have given that fifth star if I'd tried one of the pasta dishes. The Pollo Martini was good, but I got food envy as I looked at the dishes being delivered around me. I'll be back to try some of those. read more

On top of that, a ONE hour wait to receive our entrees--again, NO apology. Then the check comes, all the food is wrong, nothing we ordered. They bring the check again--STILL wrong and STILL no apology. Finally the third time the check is correct, still no apology and not one item removed from the bill How you can run a business like this without any apology or even common courtesy is absurd. Tried this spot for restaurant week and boy did we pick a good one. They have a cute outdoor seating area which got a little hot (to be expected mid August nowadays I guess) but it was so nice out there. The restaurant was pretty packed so it's obviously well known. Our staff took care of us got us all the bread we wanted and parm for my pasta. And the food just all around hit! The Caccio e Pepe was decadent so delicious I will be going back to get more. Came here for a date night on a whim after seeing Il Falco listed for restaurant week and we were not disappointed! We made a reservation easily online and were seated immediately when we arrived early. The food was delicious, we did not actually do the restaurant week offer but the appetizer and entrees were very good. Special shout out to the special of the day which was the swordfish with spinach, just wow! All of the staff were attentive and friendly. Our waters and drinks were always refilled. We started off with a delicious burrata dish followed by the specials of the day consisting of veal pasta and grilled tuna steak. Although the tuna wasn't our favorite, overall it was a delightful experience. The service was superb and our server overheard we were sharing the mains and brought us the pasta split in two plates The atmosphere created by the restaurant was warm and inviting. I've been to Il Falco a number of times. The restaurant is a small neighborhood joint with a very unassuming front entrance. It's a very narrow restaurant with a backyard, which is nice when the weather is good. The service here is always excellent. I have tried the following dishes: Burrata (4/5): I love burrata, and this one is good. The cheese is fresh, with a good amount of cream, and is served over arugula. Really nice to share. Calamari Fritti (3.5/5): Standard calamari, but good. Stracciatella Soup (4/5): A nice stracciatella soup, with egg and spinach. It's a nice warm starter when the weather is chilly. Capellini Arabiatta (4.5/5): Huge portion of pasta. Red sauce-based. It's not that spicy, but it's very tasty; Capellini Frutti di Mare (4/5): A very nice pasta, wine-based sauce, with an ample amount of seafood that is varied. It's definitely a favorite of mine here. I love these old school Italian places, especially when the chefs comes from the famed NYC restaurant Il Mulino. If you're looking for a fancy decor, this is not the place. Located in Queens, this is a warm Italian restaurant. Don't think it's a red sauce, chicken cutlet joint (Remember I mentioned the chefs came from Il Mulino?) but a tried and true Italian trattoria. I'm with my in laws and the four of us are seated. There has to be 12 tables in the main dining room, with more seating upstairs. My brother in law can get kinda crazy, he's been known to order the entire menu. This is not Olive Garden so I don't want to eat a mound of pasta. I'd like a small taste of the Bolognese pasta. The waiter mentioned a special pasta with truffle. My brother in law said both! Send both to the table to start. What the chef did was take 4 plates and put on both pastas! The fresh pasta with truffle had me swooning! Sooooooo so good. We also had a small Burrata with truffle oil tasting. Freshly made Burrata is one of my favorites, topped on arugula made it a nice side. My main course, the centrepiece of tonight's meal is a Sicilian classic, Branzino fish baked in salt. This is such a treat to cook fish and doesn't taste salty. What happens is, the fish is baked in the salt casing. When finished, the salt is cracked and the end result is fish that is moist and flavorful. The de-boned branzino isn't a thick filet so encasing the entire fish in salt makes it succulent. I was in heaven eating this dish. The dish came with roasted potatoes, I thought roasted potatoes was more of an afterthought. It would have been nice to have served this dish with asparagus or another vegetable. The service? I had multiple waiters visit us throughout our meal. total professionals and very sharply dressed. The bread basket they brought was fresh and tasty with the olive oil on the table. I'm packed at this point. My wife comes from the school, if chocolate isn't on my plate then it's not dessert. My brother in law ordered a flourless chocolate cake and a coconut sorbet that was served in a coconut shell. The flourless cake was dense and very decedent. The homemade whipped cream addition was a winner. The coconut sorbet was good, it's not something I'd typically have an a Italian dinner table. Il Falco has pictures of various movie and sport stars on the wall. Seeing the Sopranos cast dining and enjoying themselves makes me smile. Came here last night for a Restaurant Week dinner with my mom. It was both our first time dining here and I have to say that we were blown away! Nestled in the heart of Long Island City, this restaurant is accessible by either train or bus. The Court Square stop is down the block and gives you access to the E, M. G and 7 trains. The Q67 and other buses are directly across the street. I've passed this restaurant MANY times over the years, gazing at the black canopy awning, but never gave any thought to stopping by. I regret that I've been missing out for so long. It's so cute on the outside. They have a lfew tables in a covered booth off of the sidewalk. It was a little too warm to eat outside so we chose inside. The place is small and cozy, but it does well with the space they have. You have a decently sized dining area and it seems like they have a yard that they turned into the cutest, covered outdoor dining space. Equipped with fans for the summer months. I regret not asking to sit out there! I will the next time we cone. Had dinner reservations for 7:30. It wasn't overly crowded but it was pretty busy. Tons of attentive, friendly staff everywhere so there's never really a wait for anything. The ambiance is warm and cozy with a traditional feel. The lighting is VERY dim and the battery operated candle on the table didn't help much when it came to reading the menus. Had to whip out my phone to use the flashlight. Started off browsing the cocktail menu. They have a few delicious looking specialty cocktails and a HUGE wine menu. I felt like a cocktail so I had what I believe was called the Cucumber Cooler. Lime, cucumber, gin....oh my gosh! This cocktail was PERFECTLY crafted. Freaking amazing. Came in a mule-style copper mug. So cute and satisfying. Absolutely loved that drink. Cocktails are $14. They bring a bread basket out before you order. Slices of Italian bread and these crostini-like breadsticks that were seasoned with garlic and other spices. We downed that first basket. They took the empty basket away and brought us out another full one. How embarrassing, but wonderful! They have an olive oil jar at every table. Really liked that. We put some on our plates and dipped the Italian bread in it. You could tell that was high quality olive oil. Tasted great. For the restaurant week menu, we got to choose one dish from 3 courses. For appetizers I had the Burrata and my mother had the Pasta Fagioli. She raved about how creamy the beans were. My Burrata was also deliciously creamy and came with tomato, basil and roasted red peppers. The waiter came over and asked if I would like a balsamic drizzle over it. Yes, please!! That really made it. The sweetness of thr balsamic and peppers with the salty, creamy cheese. So good! For the entrées we both picked the Shrimp Scampi. Came served on a bed of risotto. Ugh, it was so good. The risotto was a tad al dente, which I appreciate because soggy, mushy risotto is a no go for me. Wasn't hard but wasn't overcooked. The shrimp were jumbo and fileted. Flawlessly seasoned and prepared. Perfect portions for everything as well. For our last course I chose the Tiramisu and my mom had the flourless chocolate cake. I'm pretty sure she liked it because it was gone quickly! Both desserts came with dollops of fresh whipped cream on the side. Not everyone can make a good Tiramisu. They accomplished that. It came fresh and piping hot it came earlier then the expected delivery time & they even called to confirm with me exactly what i wanted. Simply put, I cannot wait until my next order. I want to make my way through their menu...but (most) of what I ordered was so good, I don't think I can try other dishes until I have my original order at least one if not two more times. The sauce for the Capellini is a perfect arrabbiata: just enough heat, and consistent build throughout, but never overpowering any other flavor. Every bite was perfect!. And that salmon! Perfect on its own. Paired BEAUTIFULLY with the Capellini. Great ricotta cheesecake! I really liked the fresh whipped cream & blueberry garnish. The tiramisu was clearly handmade. And it was fine. For my taste, it was too heavily soaked in espresso and Grand Marnier. I feel the best tiramisu allows you to taste everything: the espresso, the liquor, the lady finger, the cream, the cocoa. This was two-note, at best. Also, I received a Metro Card-sized piece for $10. A bit steep. But hey. I'm still dreaming of the next time I can enjoy 3-out-of-4 of the items I've tried. There are many Italian restaurants in LIC and each unique in its own way. Not sure why I haven't gone to IL Falco sooner because the food is really, really good. Already had the black squid ink pasta with seafood and the spicy garlic angel hair pasta and I have to say it's one of the best pastas I've had in recent memory. The meatballs doesn't contain fillers so they are really meaty. The sauce is fantastic too. Why people don't talk about IL Falco more, I don't know but they should. To start, the house salad was fresh and crisp with a variety of different vegetables. The dressing was on par and made this a nice start. The spaghetti was Al Dante! The sauce was perfect. Not too sweet, and not plain. The eggplant was very good and very plentiful. (Check with me in a week from now and I may still have some left over...). For my main, I had the Shrimp Oreganata but I think they just called it Shrimp Scampi. I was a little disappointed with the risotto, it did not taste or feel like risotto. It tasted/felt more like farro. The flavor was a little lacking too, I ended up adding red pepper flakes. For dessert, I had the tiramisu. It was pretty much just a standard piece of cake. Had a fabulous dinner last evening at IL Falco, a below the radar restaurant in Long Island City. We sat in their rear European feel outdoor courtyard setting. Food was spectacular highlighted but appetizers of prawns along side a fabulous risotto, and a rich & creamy Burrata accompanied by a mix of tomatoes & peppers. For main courses, all of which were nightly specials, we had a full rack of incredibly well prepared lamb chops, Bronzino top with assorted vegetables covered in a sublime lobster sauce, finally a perfectly prepared T- bone steak. For dessert, all of which are prepared in house, we had a crepe with vanilla ice cream topped with strawberry flambé (mmmmm). They have a reasonably priced very broad based wine list, and all the restaurant workers were masked, and the restaurant adhered to the Covid protocols.
