The food is so good! I appreciate the staff for all their help and attention for detail. We were dining with young children and they help us out a lot. The decor is cute they had Halloween themed decorations up at the time of our visit. Our family enjoyed it very much.

Very cute Italian Villa look inside with draping leaves. Big outdoor seating as well. Wait staff is attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the food was mediocre. It seems awful to say this, but honestly I like the Italian food at Olive Garden better, and I'm not a big fan of Olive Garden. The food was under seasoned and small portions for big priced. I got the lobster ravioli and wasn't impressed. My friend didn't care for her lasagna either. Not worth it.

My friends and I met here to celebrate our friend's birthday after a candle light concert near by. This is very nice and cozy restaurant with great service. My pistachio martini was something new that I tried and it was pretty good. I enjoyed my cheese ravioli very much. I felt tiramisu was decent - I tried much better at other places.

We decided to randomly walk in and dine at Vicolo and we weren't disappointed. We decided to sit outside since their outdoor patio is pretty and it was a relatively warm fall day. We ordered some sauv blanc and were served some complimentary warm bread and olive oil. We orders the Spinaci Ravioli Con Pesto with a side of veggies. We asked the server to replace the broccoli with spinach but he thought we were asking for both. We sorted the confusion out and started to dine. The server was sweet enough to separate out portions for us since we were sharing the ravioli. The pesto was delicious and the toasted almonds added the right crunch on top. Overall, a great semi casual Italian restaurant to try authentic Italian food in Oak Park.

We came by for dinner after attending a show nearby. Parking is street parking or there is a paid garage around the corner. We came by around 7ish for dinner, and the show has just broke out. Upon arrival we were seated pretty quickly. We were seated towards the back of the restaurant. And were brought water, bread, cheese and oil. We ordered drinks, I ordered a spritzer and my husband ordered a Negroni. The drinks were okay, a bit watered down but overall good. We started with calamari, to my surprise this was my favorite dish of the night. It was crispy and tender all at the same time. For our entrees I got the lasagna and he got the rigatoni pasta. We ordered a side of meatballs to share. The lasagna was supposed to have a bolognese and ricotta. While I did have some ricotta the lasagna was oddly sweet as if they used canned tomato sauce, like raos. On to the meatballs, for them being $10 for 2 meatballs I was expecting for it to be something super unique and flavorful, but unfortunately it missed the mark for us. It was pretty hard and dry and was set on top of the same rather sweet tomato sauce. However we did really enjoy the rigatoni because the flavors and noodles were cooked great,. All in all we had a decent experience, and am glad we tried it!

I enjoyed Vicolo Trattoria, the service was good, the ambiance was your basic Italian restaurant. They have a bar seating area and more tables in the back. They also have a large patio for seating outside in the summer that I can't wait to come back for. The food was great overall: we had the grilled calamari to start. It was just okay for me - I have had more flavorful grilled calamari before, but others may think the grilled calamari is great so it's really just personally preference. Entree: we had the lobster ravioli which was really tasty served in red sauce. Also tried the wrapped beef that my husband really liked. He asked for medium but it was probably prepared medium well - there wasn't much pink in it. Drinks: I am a margarita fan - tried the spicy pineapple margarita and it did not disappoint. It didn't taste too sweet and had the right amount of spice. Also tried the Mandarin dreamsicle - on the sweeter side and filling.

This was a very nice authentic Italian restaurant. It's a quaint little spot by lake st and at first there wasn't too many people in there eating so we didn't know what to think of it but after receiving a fresh, hot order of calamari, we were able to relax. It was a great first starter for our meals to come. Our waitress was very kind and patient with us when it came to ordering our entrees. I'm always indecisive so my meal was an adjusted take on one of their other items but she rung my order up as a created pasta since it was cheaper that way (very considerate). The pasta's were great. My husband really loved his and he can be picky so I was surprised about that. But we enjoyed our little experience so much that we ended up getting their raspberry dessert. (Can't remember the actual name) but it was a nice treat after our meal.

The bread service was fantastic. The tomato focaccia and the baguette were both excellent and I had to remind myself not to fill up on it before the main meal! LOL! We started with the calamari which was very well seasoned and clearly not the typical frozen version you often see from foodservice distributors. It tasted fresh, was crispy, and well prepared. For dinner I ordered the margherita pizza which was simple and delicious. I ended up ordering a second one to-go for my partner who couldn't make it to dinner. He also loved it - even after it sat for ~30 min or so while we chatted more, then drove home to the Maywood area. I would imagine their delivery is pretty good based on that! My mom had the rigatoni vodka with added crumbled Italian sausage which she loved, and my dad ordered the Marcelino. He loved the generous amount of seafood and how well seasoned it was. My parents are big wine drinkers and my dad was especially impressed with the wine list and the selection available. Oscar was an incredible server!! He struck the perfect balance of being attentive while still letting us enjoy a relaxed, unhurried evening. The support staff and food runners were also fantastic and very friendly, making the entire service experience feel polished! I also loved the kitchen was more open which gives you confidence in the quality and care that goes into the food. The dining space is inviting with a nice bar area and an additional room that looks perfect for busy nights or private gatherings. Overall a great restaurant that we would absolutely return to!!

Calamari was perfectly breaded and tender, not chewy like most, and came with 3 dipping sauces. The meatballs were moist and covered in cheese and meat sauce. Entrees: the rigatoni bolognese was the fan favorite of the table! Also had the beet salad and pork tenderloin and all of them were 10/10. Dessert: Tiramisu, salted caramel gelato, and fried donuts. All of the them were great, especially the fried donuts that come complimentary for buying a dessert. I was somewhat surprised by how good they were with the gelato. The restaurant is teeny, tiny. The are 2 booths, one on each side of the wine cooler. 2 adults cannot sit comfortably on one side ~ 1 adult and 1 child is the max. Also, at the booths, the table is very far away from the bench. You have to move forward to the front edge of the bench to eat over the table. They are a BIG miss ~ so I recommend avoiding them. However, the rest of the tables are on top of one another, so do not expect to have a private, quiet conversation, while not being bumped by a server or someone trying to leave their table. Saturday night was packed with people waiting, standing right over the tables closest to the door. I know nothing can be done to accommodate as many diners as possible. Do not expect the usual Italian meal. Do not go hungry because no one leaves with a doggie bag. A side of asparagus consisted of 4 small spears for $10. A lot of fish on the menu. New to me, balsamic drizzled on top of your vanilla gelato as dessert. The "special" guava cheesecake was special because it consisted of pastry shells with whipped cream not a forkful of cheesecake to be found. Food was good, service was excellent, most interesting interpretation of Italian fusion.

I live in Buena Park, and I have driven down Irving Park Road, passing this restaurant one hundred times, but never gave it much thought. The space was originally a pizza restaurant called Hearth & Crust and owned by the same people. From what I understand, they closed their original Bueno Terra restaurant in Logan Square and reopened it in this Hearth & Crust space. In fact, the Hearth & Crust logo is still etched into the glass at the inner front of the restaurant. The restaurant was packed, especially with families, but they sat us in a semi-private, glass-enclosed room at the front of the restaurant. The sliding windows were open to the sidewalk and Irving Park Road. That kept the room pleasantly cool, but it was noisy. I could not hear anyone talk except the people sitting right next to me. We had one waiter assigned to our table--someone who knew the people in our group who frequent Bueno Terra--and he was personable and attentive. For the table, we ordered the arancini and fried calamari. Both were excellent. For my entrée, I ordered the Melanzana alla Emilia Romagna--eggplant medallions with a crunchy almond crust served with tomato basil sauce and topped with caramelized onions and goat cheese. Kind of a play on eggplant parmesan, but richer and better. My friends said that they often order it as an appetizer. It was unusual and delicious--I loved it. I do not drink alcohol, but I ordered a Berry Lemonade--strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry muddled with lemon soda. It was tart but refreshing. Platters were served with mixed of desserts--tiramisu, cheesecake and profiteroles. All excellent. The service and food were both great and we all had a wonderful time. Although it doesn't look like much driving past Irving Park Road, Bueno Terra is a gem that I highly recommend.
