Just ate here about a week ago for my mom's birthday and have already been back! Took my in-laws here last night and they loved it too - said it's their new favorite restaurant. The ambiance is very nice - dark, but not too dark. Nicely decorated. Have a wonderful fireplace in the main room which keeps it nice and warm and has a nice (but not too strong) smell. Service is great - the waitstaff is very helpful and attentive. Our spent dishes did not wait long before being taken away and our water glasses were never more than half empty before they were filled. And of course, the most important part - THE FOOD. Everything we have ever gotten there was great. I loved the scallops and risotto, and the filet with brandy peppercorn sauce was AMAZING! If left to my own devices, I'd put that sauce on everything! Last night we got the tiramisu and a special chocolate mousse cake for dessert - both were top notch. And, to top everything off - it's BYOB! New Years Eve was our second time at Il Villaggio, and we are looking forward to coming back. Soon! The service is excellent - well matched to the food and atmosphere. My husband and I were seated promptly. Not easy at such a busy restaurant - let alone New Years Eve. Our server was knowledgeable with the menu and very helpful. Our water glasses were never empty, and the only thing we had to ask for several times was an ice bucket for our wine. We finally asked our server, who got it for us right away. We began our dinner with the grilled calamari. Wow - has to be the best we've ever had. Tubes only - done perfectly. Tender and delicious. For entrees, I had the shrimp scallops bianco - described as jumbo shrimp, scallops, grape tomatoes, white wine sauce over tagliatelle. Spectacular! Not to mention a sizable serving. My husband had one of the specials - braised short rib ravioli. He loved it, although he would like to have had a side. Keep in mind, unless it's stated otherwise, your entree will not include a side. You'll need to order sides separately if you want one. For dessert, we shared the creme brulee cheesecake. Light, creamy and perfect. We almost ordered a second! We love the beautiful atmosphere here, although it's quite noisy. My recommendation for tables of two is to ask not to be seated in one of the small rooms off the main dining area. These rooms mainly hold larger parties, so the volume gets pretty elevated. Four of us went out on NYE and maybe that was our mistake. The place was beautiful, the service was great, but the food was just average and for the high prices, I expected much more. Two of us ordered the grilled calamari.....it was more like calamari gum...so chewy! 3 of us ordered the seafood risotto......it came out very soupy, little flavor and canned shrimp in it! The atmosphere, service, and food are always impecable here. For our most recent visit we sat near the wood burning fire place, which provided a cozy warmth while my boyfriend and I enjoyed our wine. Grilled calamari and crab cakes for appetizer, and chicken capri and veal chop for entree. Both dishes were simply amazing. We enjoyed a canoli for dessert. Perfect ending. I'm not sure if I should give these guys a three or a four. I think I've settled on the lower side considering all factors. The experience was overall pleasing, but after reading the rave reviews I had much higher expectations. I have to mention that the wait staff were a huge delight. Very nice people who checked on you frequently and were more than willing to help out in any way they could. The problem however, is that I feel they have too many people on staff and there is a complete lack of inter communication between them. We would frequently be approached or interrupted by a server for something that we had just been asked. We were asked about our drinks four times (all we wanted was water) before someone finally walked over with a pitcher. We were also asked about dessert twice, among a few other minor things. Overall, I'm glad they were asking. Though I found it a bit bizarre that only one or two waiters couldn't handle the five groups that I saw. The food was also not as delectable as my party and I had expected. The specials that we ordered as appetizers were all absolutely spectacular. Though for dinner we each ordered something off of the regular menu and just weren't impressed. Don't get me wrong, the food was good. I just wouldn't necessarily say five stars worthy. I explicitly ordered a pasta dish because I expected to be blown away. Needless to say, I was simply pleased. Perhaps I'm not giving these guys enough credit, as this was a good experience. First time here tonight and our filet mignons were amazing, cooked to perfection medium rare. The sides were so delicious as well. We had dinner here last night, It was my wife's birthday. I told the waiter, (Andy) that I planed to make dinner special for my wife by recreating our dinner experiences that we had when we vacationed in Rome last May. I asked him if he could serve us Italian style meaning several "shared" course, Appetizers, Salad, Pasta, Fish. He responded with a huge smile and said it would be his pleasure. Not only did he fulfil my request, as I knew he would but I believe he enjoyed doing it as much as we enjoyed the experience. He told use how the restaurant embraces the Italian style of eating and explained all the health benefits and relaxed enjoyment you receive from eating that way. Andy did an outstanding job of helping me impress my wife for her birthday, not only making some great recommendations but arranging for the food delivery in an absolutely prefect relaxed manor. As far as the food goes we found it to be extremely authentic, wonderfully creative and prepared to excellence both in taste and in presentation. Recommendations; Beet Salad with goat cheese and lemon olive oil dressing, Pasta, home made say no more, Best was a special appetizer Fig wrapped with prosciutto and stuffed with goat cheese with a smear of dark chocolate on the plate. Had the best dinner experience even though as soon as we ordered from a wonderful restaurant week menu there was a blackout. The staff handled The situation beautifully, almost as if nothing had happened. Of course things went a slight bit slower but we actually enjoyed our delicious meal that much more. Just had my daughter's Bridal Shower at Il Villaggio. The good news, the food was plentiful and delicious. On the negative side, when we first arrived the tables were arranged in a way that was awkward for conversation. When I asked the manager/owner if he could move one of the tables he was so nasty and condescending that my friends who were listening and I were stunned. At a time when you are nervous and excited, he could not have been less accommodating. I will never return to this restaurant despite the wonderful food. Where do I start with this restaurant? We were a party of 6 that made reservations 6 weeks ago for Valentine's Day weekend dinner & requested table by fireplace. Were seated in a completely different room when we arrived at 8 pm. Ordered both our appetizers & our dinner selections at 8:25 pm. Waited 45 minutes just for our appetizers to come to the table after asking twice as to what was taking so long. Our dinners were not brought out to us until after 10 pm - after asking again several times as to when we could expect our food. We asked to speak to a manager at that point but were told he was in the kitchen & was too busy to come out. What???!! Eventually after asking again a manager came out to us but we were basically told nothing he can do & told us to "take it or leave it" & berated us. I've never in my life experienced a manager at a restaurant speak to customers like he did. Never apologized or offered us coffee. I will never return to this restaurant- rude... plenty of other Italian restaurants that will get my business instead of them. read more

The only thing that tops the amazing food is the incredible hospitality to which you are treated from the moment you walk through the door. My husband and I have had the pleasure of dining here since it opened. We are made to feel like family, and is the only place that we will go on a holiday, other than home. There is amazing dish with figs, and chocolate, and Gorgonzola which defies logic, but is incredible. Veal Monte Mare, shrimp bisque, their molten chocolate cake.....we have never had a bad meal! Not only, are they excellent for the romantic dinner, but also for functions as well. We have had the occasion to need a room for about 75 people, the owners were all hands on deck, and every guest was smoothly accommodated. It was the first visit to this restaurant for each of us in our party of 6 with a 6:30 reservation. The restaurant has several rooms and a fireplace added to the nice ambiance.The positives stop there. The table we were given was was too small for our party of 6. I ordered frutti de mare which had a tasty tomato sauce but it was loaded with bland tiny shrimp that looked like the ones that come out of a can. The waiter told us that they were out of the ravioli special ordered by one of our party but he was not told until the other 5 dinners were served. One of the dinners had pink, under cooked, chicken that had to be returned. The manager came out to apologize and offered no comp until we called him out again and point blank told him we wanted the two dinners removed from the bill. He agreed, but we should not have had to ask him. They also comped us with 4 to go desserts for our party of 6. We have many other great BYOB options in our area. I went with my wife Wednesday before Valentines and had a wonderful time. They gave us a table by the fire place and to our surprise they had live music which was a plus. Food was outstanding, I had the Frutti Di Mare, one of the best I've ever eaten and my wife had a special requested Angel hair pasta with Crab Meat, spinach, tomatoes and white wine sauce. The chef did with no problem making it and it had an outstanding flavor. I had an anniversary party for my parents at Il Villaggio. I wanted a private room for 20 people. I was offered the Chef's Table. We were allowed to bring our own decorations and cake. We fit 20 people comfortably in the room. From the banquet menu I ordered the hot appetizer. It was calamari, fried zucchini, portobella mushroom and sausage with broccoli rabe. All were delicious and there was more than enough for everyone. Everyone got a salad and the choice between four entrees. The food was great and the lunch size portions were large. The servers were very attentive and friendly. Management checked in on us more than once to be sure everything was going ok. When it was time for the cake the server had the cake cut up and the topped it with a scoop of ice cream, which was very nice.
