My family and I had a delicious lunch here on a weekday. It was not very busy. The food came out pretty quickly. Everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered appetizers, including the mussels, which were incredibly plump with a delicious white wine broth. The calamari had the perfect level of breading and was well seasoned. I ordered the mushroom risotto special which came with asparagus and scallops. It was delicious and again very well seasoned. The scallops were exactly the right texture, not overcooked. The risotto was more toothsome than I'm used to but still very good and went well with the accompanying arugula salad. Other things we ordered were the generously portion salmon, the bolognese and the penne à la vodka. It is spacious but cozy at the same time and everyone was so nice and helpful. We did not get any dessert but looking forward to trying it next time because there will be a next time. read more

Our server recommended the flatbread special so we ordered it and despite finding it on the bland side we did finish it - adding extra cheese, salt and pepper to it. In passing we mentioned it only when asked by our server if we liked it that it had lacked flavor. To our surprise she took it off our bill. This is the kind of service you really don't find anymore and one of the reasons I like coming back to tutti toscani. I ordered the veal which is always good, large lump crab on top. My husband got the trio of pasta but only enjoyed two of the three. The rest of the table raved about the mushroom special almost licking the plate clean - I am not a fans of mushrooms so I'll trust them. Overall I always enjoy coming here, I don't feel like I've been ripped off when the bill hits the table and service is usually good. Went there for the first time this evening. Ambience was nice. We sat outside. Service was barely good. I could nit pick so I will say adequate not exceptional or above and beyond, just adequate. My wife had the gnocchi special which we both thought was very good. Here is where things are bad. I had the veal parmigiana and it was the absolute worst veal parm I've ever tasted. I took 4 bites and couldn't eat another bite. It didn't even taste like veal. It tasted old, lacking tenderness that a good cut a veal should have. The breading had zero seasoning. The bus girl cleared my plate while My wife still ate but wasn't educated enough in service to realize or ask if everything was ok. She didn't know to say something to the waiter like "hey the guest didn't eat his meal and didn't want to take it home". So the server never saw the uneaten portion. That's training that falls on ownership and management. So will we return? No. With tip we spent $82 for what was really a $25 - $30 experience. read more

This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem in a strip mall. We stopped in for a late lunch. The restaurant is small yet cozy with a beautiful patio. The menu has many of our favorite Italian offerings. I opted for the traditional pizza and my husband the chicken with roasted broccoli rabe and red peppers. Both were extremely good. Our server was accommodating and kept our glasses filled. He also checked with us several times to make sure we were enjoying our experience. The prices were reasonable and food great. Puzzled by the high rating of this restaurant. We came on a busy Friday night and got a table for two. We were greeted by an interior that seemed worse for wear, seated at a wooden table with lots of chips and scratches and teetered at the slightest provocation. We were impressed by the service which seemed to be on top of things. All of the servers in the restaurant seem to help each other make sure each table is attended to, which was nice. We didn't wait long to get drinks or bread. As someone who is Italian and knows good Italian, I can say that this is not good Italian. It feels like a caricature of an Italian place, sort of like how On The Border is a caricature of authentic Mexican food. I would be surprised to learn that this place is owned by Italian people. Every item we got we had to send back for temperature issues. Made worse that when they would bring the food back from the kitchen, it seemed they "solved" it by pouring more marinara sauce on top in an attempt to warm it up. (It never worked.) We started with meatballs for an appetizer that lacked flavor. As did the marinara sauce, or "gravy" as some call it, which tasted like a bland Prego sauce that was clearly watered down. For dinner, my guest got the gnocchi and I got the chicken parm. Both seemed to be previously frozen, evidenced both by the uneven temperature and also the soggy texture to the breading of the parm, and odd consistency of the gnocchi. We sent both dishes back to be reheated - even offering that we would be willing to have them put it into a microwave as a quick fix during a busy dinner service. Instead, they solved it by dumping more sauce on. One of the managers, a woman, did come to our table when she heard we sent back food due to the temperature. In apology, she offered us any dessert on the menu. We took her recommendation but were disappointed that the cake was a bit stale and also tasted like it was store bought, not homemade as their entrance with a fridge of Italian cookies to buy suggested. We ended up packing up our entire meals, not interested in forcing ourselves through lukewarm food. As I write this about a half hour after leaving, my stomach is a bit upset, perhaps from the cold chicken I ate. We weren't surprised to see on Yelp that they had food violations in the past, one being from unsafe food temperature practices. Despite the good service and the attempt at reconciliation, me and my current nausea can't recommend this place in good faith. I am leaving an extra star for the attempts at making things better that were unfortunately unsuccessful. read more

Had a wonderful dinner here tonight with 27 of us taking up the front room. We have a monthly dinner get together and this was a first for us as a large group on the recommendation from one of our members. Being such a large group we set up an arranged dinner. Four meal started with some delicious homemade regular and pizza bread. We then had a cold/hot antipasto platter which included mussels, calamari, roasted peppers. Mozzarella and assorted meats. We next had a nice little salad. For dinner our choice was of salmon, chicken Marsala with capellini or sausage and peppers with rigatoni. I went with the chicken Marsala and it was very good. We finished with some cannoli and coffee. The wait staff were super accommodating to us and on top of our every need. Also we're amenable for one guy who asked for a substitute of chicken parm. BYOB The place had a nice crowd outside our large group for a Thursday night. Food came out timely, hot and fresh. Looks like this will be incorporated into our rotation of restaurants for our dinner meetings going forward. read more

Date night at Lamberti's Tutti Toscani! Not going to lie, we wanted to go to one of the other Lamberti restaurants but this one did not disappoint. It's the original Lamberti restaurant and it's honestly so cute. The staff welcomed and sat us immediately. There's a large outdoor area (covered and heated for the winter) but we were sat inside. The service was impeccable as we were helped right away and checked on frequently. It is a BYO restaurant but they do offer a small wine (bottle) list. We didn't do our research beforehand so we purchased one of the half bottle options which was enjoyable. As our starter, we got the (special) burrata with tomato, arugula, prosciutto, and drizzled with pesto and balsamic glaze. It was quite tasty, especially if you eat it with the fresh bread served when you are seated. I felt like I had to try the chicken parm (because why not), and J got the wood fired ricotta and sweet Italian sausage pizza. I'd rate the chicken parm a 4/5...maybe I was just expecting greatness but the soggy chicken cutlet was a let down. Flavors of the chicken and pasta were as expected, though. J's pizza was solid, though he would have preferred it be a little crispier. For dessert we went with the homemade tiramisu...no complaints there! It was superb. This place does NOT miss!! If you're looking to dine in, they have cute indoor and outdoor dining. If you're looking to order out, the food is JUST AS GOOD. We ordered the calamari. I LOVEDDDD the texture, so soft and not overcooked - tasted fresh. I wish the outside coating could have been a bit crunchier, but delicious nonetheless. It's definitely better than most of the calamari dishes in the area. We ordered a penne ala vodka which was also VERY SOLID. No complains here and definitely would recommend all the pastas in general. I can't remember the other one I ordered a few years back but I remember liking it a lot. Meatballs were delicious too! Menu said it came with 3 but we somehow ended up with 4 - which is even better !! My FAVORITE was definitely the pizza. The crust on these pizzas are PERFECT and the dough just tastes RIGHT. I can't explain it but when a pizza is good you know it's good. Nothing too salty or oily, literally just a perfect pie. The best Italian restaurant in the area! We started with the mussels in a garlic white wine sauce (8/10), and the calamari, 6.5/10. I had the shrimp and scallops fra diavlo, 8.5/10. This restaurant has the best marinara sauce!! I'm more of a cream sauce gal, but this place knows what they're doing with red sauce. You can taste the freshness in the tomatoes they use. If you're looking for a cream sauce pasta- roasted garlic chicken (9/10) takes the cake. You cannot go wrong with this one- so savory, garlicky (in the best way), and creamy, but not overbearing. Just perfect! The chicken monterosa (8.5/10) is also a solid option! Great ambiance. Amazing service. The staff is warm and friendly. I think we spoke to one of the owners as well- she was so nice, and hospitable. We recently had a funeral luncheon for 40 here. We met with Michelle to make the arrangements. She was very helpful and told us that they would adjust the menu for anyone who was gluten free. On the day of our luncheon, the tables were ready when we arrived. They had soft drinks set up in the middle of the room. Our waitress and helper ensured we received our salads, rolls, and entrees timely. Everything was delicious. We opted for a sheet cake instead of the mini cannoli for dessert. read more

Given the good reviews, I was excited to try Tutti Toscani. And the service was excellent! We came in on Easter, and despite my server being overloaded with tables, he was very hospitable! We had an allergy to a certain seafood, and he made sure to check with administration and the chefs. What I was not impressed with was the food. We ordered a couple dishes. The first was the spicy calamari and coconut shrimp. It was platter with fried seafood, garlic and spicy peppers. The fried food lacked a good crunch, and the flavor of the overall dish was lacking. I think a marinara or tartar sauce would have been a nice supplement. For entrees, we ordered the penne vodka, lobster ravioli and the night's special, the soft shell crab. The penne vodka was great! Great flavor, great sauce! I could not say the same for the other two dishes. The lobster ravioli came with four 2.5x2.5in pieces of ravioli with a handful of shrimp. To be honest, I barely could taste the lobster in the ravioli, and the sauce was nothing special. Not worth the premium of $30+ dollars (up-charged price for the holidays). The soft shell crab dish... don't get it. Floppy soft shell crab on top of angel hair in red sauce. The crab unfortunately did not taste the most fresh, and the flavors of the crab did not mesh well with the dish. Perhaps breading the crab, deep frying it and serving it on the side with vegetables in a garlic sauce would be a lot better. Scrap the pasta! Overall, I had a pleasant experience due to the service. I know I'm wasting my time even bothering with a review here, but if I can save anyone from wasting their money here, then it was worth it. I know they have been open forever, and I'm glad they're are people that enjoy this place. This is just evidence that if you're consistent people will come back for dog food. SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. Hell of a staff. Clean and attentive is your TWO STARS. The middle dining room is awful. Like being under a spotlight and the noise is akin to a high school cafeteria. Pure madness. Plaster and brick... Dinner should have been over as soon as we had the meatball appetizer. These were large versions of those terrible supermarket mini frozen meatballs. Absolutely GAME OVER before it even began. Coconut Shrimp...more frozen garbage. Risotto and Ribeye. Not awful flavor on either side. Texture and consistency of the risotto was like something Kraft would put in a box. Ribeye was one of the saddest cuts of meat I have ever come across, but kudos to the grill for making it edible. I will never understand how these places charge 4 star restaurant prices when they serve the same food the diners are serving, but they do it. Such a lovely experience during THE PANDEMIC. One of the nice things about social distancing is ... social distancing. And since the current rule of thumb now is letting NJ restaurants allow a 25% capacity to dine indoors, we enjoyed a fun, quiet meal at a leisure pace. We were a group of four, we were hungry, we were gifted a chance to order anything we wanted. While some of us dove into the tomatoey bread, I dug into the lovely calamari. Others enjoyed a cesar salad, but it was pretty soggy from what I could see - perhaps the only glitch. For my main dish, I had the Feast of the 7 fishes served over capellini with medium spice as requested by me - I remember mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops, some pieces of white fish... So filling that I could only manage half. For dessert, when our server noticed that my boo boo kitty face that my cheesecake was the only dessert that didn't come with whipped cream, he came to pile some on. BONUS! read more

I ordered chicken cacciatore, anticipating a delicious meal since my friends just raved about the food. After two bites I was done. I've eaten this dish so many times all around the country and Italy. The chicken itself was tender but covered in a very sour sauce. When the waiter came by to ask how everything was I said I didn't like mine at all. My mistake was not telling him immediately. He took the dishes away and we waited for the bill. When I saw that I was charged for the meal I didn't eat I called the waiter over. When I told him there was an error on the bill he became very agitated. He said, "I asked you if you wanted something else but you said no!" That was a lie. My friends agreed. They commented that he never said a word. At that point he got obviously angry, muttering, No one ever has a problem with the bill!" I'm from New Jersey but live in Las Vegas currently. It was so good. I got the calamari and the gorgonzola salad as appetizers and I enjoyed the salad the most out of the two. The calamari was good but it's comparable to other places I've been to. For entrees, I got the special red pizza and the zuppa di pesce. The entrees were good but I had better in other places. I would order it again sometimes. I would say the service was top-notch! It blends in with the shopping center Italian restaurants, but has the food that propels it above the rest. It's been a special place for my family, with many special occasions being spent there. Its a favorite for even the toughest of critics. I recently also discovered they have delivery via certain apps; that's almost dangerous for me. Start by saving room for their pizza bread. It's like a tomato pie sliced into small pieces. That could be a meal alone. Their pasta fagioli is another must-have. From their pastas to veal dishes, there are so many great options. I can't wait to dine-in person again to order some of their specials. I'm glad places like this exist. There aren't good places in the middle of the road from pizza shop to fancy.
