Very clean house, very comfortable lodging with so many amenities to list. Very gracious hosts and convenient location as we were passing through from Crater Lake to Portland. We have traveled around the world and utilize lots of different types of lodging. One of the reasons we enjoy staying at B&Bs versus hotels is the interactions with the owners. It's a great way to learn more about the area and people and creates a more memorable experience. And our stay at Terraluna Inn was exactly that and one of our favorites. We stayed for one night on our Oregon road trip after a day at Crater Lake. From before our stay even began, we had good communication with our hosts. Generous house tour and beautiful garden. The owners have thought of every little touch and the attention to detail from a service and hospitality perspective was superb. Welcomed with blueberry sangria, a treat after we returned from dinner and ice cold water at bed were just some examples. We would absolutely stay here again. read more

We stayed last year over the Labor Day weekend and it was a very pleasant stay. The Innkeepers were very welcoming and wonderful in that they truly cared about their guests. We were pampered with the hospitality, wonderful handcrafted, homemade breakfasts. The Inn was beautifully appointed and superbly clean while having a home like feeling as you walked in the door. This inn is a hidden gem. It was a two day stay that was so relaxing. We spent one night at this inn. The grounds are beautiful, as is the residence. The innkeepers, Gail and James, are very, very nice and attentive. The historic home is filled with lovely decorations and furnishings, with great attention to detail in all rooms. Gail's homemade blueberry sangria was wonderful and her gourmet breakfast was amazing. One thing to note is that lodging consists of a bedroom within the home and only one guest room is available each day. Essentially, you are a guest in somebody's home. The guest room is located upstairs and just a few feet from the innkeepers' master bedroom. The guest bathroom is not within the guest suite. It is down the hall, adjacent to the master bedroom. For those persons wanting a more private, romantic type of lodging experience, they should understand the nature of this property versus other inns. As said before, wonderful attentive hosts and a beautiful property, great breakfast and sitting on the porch was a joy for weary travelers. read more

Preamble-It's so hard to write a review like this one because ultimately, I think it's important people are aware of what to expect before they book here, because we were not prepared. That said, I also really want these folks to be successful in their business here, I just don't know that we were the population they were hoping for when they built their business model. We have stayed at B&B's all across the country, and have had great experiences and not great experiences, just like hotels, resorts and other stay options. I chose this one because of its beautiful setting and convenient location on our trip up to WA from CA. Initially, we had some confusion due to the owners texting us a week early and I was worried this may have impacted our stay, but we checked back with them closer to our reservation and everything was ok. When we arrived, we marveled that the location was gorgeous, easy to find, and conveniently located in walking distance to downtown. We made our way to the door and were greeted by James and Gail, who gave us a brief tour to our room and gave us a moment to put our things down. Once I made my way back downstairs, that's when it started to unravel. I had just sustained a concussion just a few days before we arrived so I was pretty sound-sensitive. James insisted he give us an excruciatingly detailed tour of the house to include a lengthy stay in the music room where he turned the music up so high, I almost vomited. I made my way out to excuse myself, and this left him visibly upset. I tried to loop Gail in on my condition, trying to smooth things over and not to step on my host's toes. This caused some issues. James apparently had a "set program" that he was used to doing with all the guests and not following his steps was frustrating him. James and Gail had a terse conversation about how I physically could not participate and it just didn't matter, he was visibly upset/mad. Gail did try her best to pick up and gently guide the tour outside and look at the house, but it was clear things were weird. We found a reason to excuse ourselves for dinner and James tried to invite himself to go with us, but Gail reminded him we had our own plans. We walked to dinner downtown, and it was refreshing to stretch our legs after an 8-9 hour drive, and to get some time away from the B&B. It was interesting that we were used to B&B's having more than one guest at a time but here, it was just us and them which was more intensity than either of us were wanting or had the bandwidth to really manage. When we got back, we retired early. The room itself was nicely appointed but I was not aware ahead of time that the bathroom was not attached. In order to get to the bathroom, you had to walk past Gail and James's room, and all the floors creaked like a massively loud horror film and made me really uncomfortable as a person who has a tiny bladder. We also felt like the room was uncomfortable in its temperature and we couldn't get it to change so we were sweltering and humid all night. Additionally, the bathroom was on a timer for the light which was OUTSIDE of the bathroom. I forgot about this and while washing my hair in the super tiny shower, suddenly all the lights went out and I was showering in the pitch black. Not great, and really not great with a concussion. In the morning, Gail made us Dutch baby pancakes and it seemed they were in much higher spirits than the day before. We ducked out early to avoid any other potential chaos, and to get back on the road. While processing our stay, we remarked we both felt like awkwardly unwelcome surprise guests at a distant senior relative's house, and that we were under surveillance during our stay. We were uncomfortable the whole time and couldn't wait to get out of there. If we had been informed about the whole "process" expected by James, and were staying there with intent to hang out with the owners, our trip would have been very different. It felt more like a rented room than a B&B, other than the breakfast which was the highlight of the stay. That said, we did not enjoy almost every other part of this stay, outside the delightful Gail who truly did her best and we liked her immensely. Absolutely charming BnB that we would not hesitate to visit again. James and Gail are fabulous hosts who love to share their lovingly-restored turn of the century home and exceptional gardens. Gail is a great chef who will WOW you with a generous breakfast using her home-grown ingredients, lovely cocktail/mocktails, and even a two-bite sweet to tuck you in at night! Their king guest room is well-appointed with a cute balcony, perfect for sharing a nightcap or bottle of wine overlooking a quiet street. James was kind enough to give us a perfect dinner recommendation and even made our reservations. This is the perfect stop for weary travelers who need a quiet break on their journey, or even for those touring area wineries. For those who prefer being off the interstate, this house is only about 5 minutes away from the exit in the historic district downtown Roseburg, also quaint and well worth a visit. read more

Beautiful restored 1925 historic home. Delightful hosts. Great breakfast and relaxed atmosphere.

This was our second visit to Terraluna, which we did as an Adults night out. As before, we had a superb time. The Inn itself is a large, warm Victorian with the details that make such a place so fascinating. Wood floors, tons of windows and long patios allow for either private time or socializing with James and Gail (which they love). They have poured obvious effort into making it confortable, with detail after detail looked after, even down to towel warmers and a lighted nighttime potty for the wee hours use. Gail uses her Ninja cooking skills to make each meal something special, accomodating dietary restrictions as well. James has spent considerable effort in creating a theater-caliber large screen movie area which contains not only movie viewing but a fireplace and cushy couches. The bed was great and huge, with extra pillows, comforters and robes. The Inn itself lies just far enough up on the hill that there are very few noise distractions. Both fruit and shade trees dot a well-maniucured landscape. We've been to B&Bs throughout the UK, Europe and Canada, and this rates as one of the finest. read more
