Came here for dinner after having carryout a few months earlier. My friend and I came for dinner we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table as it was really crowded. We were seated at a small table in a large room and our server came quickly to get us water and give us a little time to decide on our dinner. A few minutes after we put our order in and got some garlic and regular bread and waited for our meals to arrive. She got the lasagna which looked really good and I had the veal with shrimp over penne pasta. Since I only get veal when I go out to restaurants this was a treat. The veal was tender, the shrimp were big and delicious and the sauce over the pasta was outstanding. Our server check with us regularly to make sure everything was okay and we were both too full for dessert. After getting carryout and now eating in I can't say enough about how good this restaurant is and I hope to come back in the near future. Highly recommend a visit here but note that it will likely be crowded especially on a weekend evening. read more

My husband and I ate here on July 3rd for an early dinner. We thought they would be crowded, however, we were pleasantly surprised only 1/2 of the tables were occupied. We waited several minutes before we were greeted by our server and the beers that followed were lukewarm. The waitress told us they were having issues with their beer due to the heat. We then waited quite some time for our appetizer with an additional 45 minutes for our Eggplant Parm and Spinach Lasagna. Not impressed at all with the service or wait time. The food was okay but we definately will not return when in the area. These issues along with the noise level is just not okay considering other options in the area. read more

I must show you guys the difference between golf, shrimp and black tiger, shrimp, black tiger, shrimp or not gulf shrimp when you cook gulf shrimp they turn white when you cook black tiger, shrimp or farm raised shrimp they are translucent. I've been supporting you guys for years and years and love your dishes but you are not serving Golf shrimp on the bigger dinner dishes you use those for your shrimp salad but not for your large jumbo shrimp. I specifically asked for golf shrimp and I was assured that you guys carry those so here are some pictures of yours versus what golf shrimp are supposed to look like after cooking. Waited over hour for the food, but my main gripe is that, they are including a 20% tip on your bill at the discretion of your server ! I complained on my way out, was told that's the policy now ! I have never encountered this at any restaurant ever where the tip amount is forced on your bill, especially when there is no notice or disclaimer on the menu that all items are subject to a 20% tip . I always tip, but at my discretion, and think it should be optional. read more

AMBIANCE: Pleasant/charming. The dining area was split into several sections which was very nice as it kept the noise of the patrons from being too loud. SERVICE: Prompt, friendly, & attentive without interrupting us too often. FOOD: Great! This time she had the Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken, my hubby had the diner with those potato thingies in a spicy sauce and I had the chicken salad sandwich with seasoned fries. Disappointed on service. My wife and I went here for her birthday. Had changed my pasta selection to angle-hair, but came out fettuccine. Said something to the waitress. Her first mistake was to say it taste the same and should try it to see if I like it , like we were three years old in a smart ass tone. Didn't offer to fix or replace her mistake, she didn't write anything down when taking the order. Never returned for any refills of drinks only brought the bill and said she deducted 1% from bill because I didn't like the dish. She knew that when it was served. Any communication was in a smart ass tone to us. She should not work with the public! Was going to see the manager, but my wife was upset and I decided it wasn't worth it. It's a shame a poor, smart ass waitress could ruin a special meal. If I owned this restaurant she would be fired, not for the mistake in the food order, but her demeanor and smart ass comments. The Marinara Sauce Taste like it came out of a can There were no seasonings and it certainly didn't taste like an Italian homemade sauce. On a day excursion, we decided to head toward the Hempstead area to explore and discover after a long period of time. We stopped at Illiano's for lunch. Our selections of the Philly Chicken sub and the Hot Roast Beef sandwich were excellent. The restaurant was busy even after 1 PM, however, our service was prompt and attentive. Our selections were excellent and the service was spot on. We will return to try other selections for sure. read more

I will preface this review based on that my husband and I are NJ/NY transplants and we have been to Italy. The menu of this location looked very good so we decided to give it a try. The food was about average for Maryland Italian. We had the fettuccini Alfredo, mozzarella sticks, strawberry salad and a side Italian salad. It all came with a piece of plain bread and garlic bread. First the side sala strawberry spinach salad was good. Although it's hard to mess up a salad. The mozzarella sticks were average sticks with average marinara sauce. But the fettuccini Alfredo was not up to par. It was overly oily and didn't really have any flavor. The plain bread was just pizza dough shaped I to a triangle and was lackluster. The garlic bread was by far the worst thing we received. The bread was cardboard like and it was just not good. I gave this place three stars because the portion to prices were good but the actual food was not worth the calories. read more

Really enjoyed our dinner here this evening. Restaurant had a nice, cozy atmosphere. My husband had the minestrone soup for an appetizer and I had a taste. Yummy! We both ended up ordering the shrimp and crab Caprese dinner which was absolutely delicious. Our server, Matt, was friendly and attentive. We moved to Hampstead 4 yrs ago, and everyone local kept recommending Illiano's J&P. I was hesitant because I've been to the J&P in Eldersburg and it's strictly OK. We decided to try Illiano's J&P and I asked what is the difference between this one and the other J&P, and they said it's the management. I thought OK, and I'm glad I gave them a chance because the food and service has always been consistently very good. Mind you, this is Carroll County, rural Maryland, so don't expect fancy ambiance, but do expect good tasty food and nice, friendly service. The best food on the menu, is the pizza, in my humble opinion. Case in point, this past Christmas of 2019, my sister, nephew and niece were visiting and we ordered 2 pizzas take-out from Illiano's . I asked for an XL pepperoni and I wanted an "everything" pizza. They suggested the "New York Special" because it's "all the meats and all the veggies". I said that sound perfect. My wife and my visiting family members devoured both pizzas and especially LOVED the New York Special, which has onions, and my wife never eats onions but she ate the onions on this pizza--amazing! Illiano's is my Hampstead Go-To, for good-tasting all-around food without a hefty price! read more

Had the Pizza and it was fantastic! Great family atmosphere and great service.! The pizza was thin and my husband enjoyed his wings. We were very pleased to get the thin crust we usually have to ask for, and the sauce and cheese evenly over that crust was delicious the pepperoni and Italian sausage was delicious too. WOW is all I can say about this place. We were in the area yesterday and decided to give it a try. I got the grilled chicken pita wrap and my husband got the shrimp and crab pasta. Both of us absolutely loved the food. The toppings were on point and the sizes were generous. We also got complimentary garlic bread with our order. Alright so I figured I'd give J & P another try. I mean thousands of Hampstead-ites can't be wrong right? Well either Hampstead-ites have lower standards or I just missed the boat on J & P. My wife and I stopped in on a Friday night and the line was out the door. The wait was about 15-20 mins which is not unreasonable. We sat down and my wife wanted some sangria. 1 glass is $6, a pitcher is $11. Interesting pricing structure...alright J & P, I'll bite. I wasn't in the mood for sangria but since its cheaper to get a pitcher than 2 glasses, why not? The sangria comes out in a beer or soda pitcher and we are handed 2 pint glasses. The sangria is probably some cheap bottled sangria with a few slices of oranges thrown in...classy. Hey it was $11 for essentially 60 oz of "wine" so what can you expect. As my last review mentioned, I've already discovered their subs were sub-par (get it, SUB-par) and their pizza was meh, so let's go for what everybody says is good about the place - pasta. I got the chicken piccata this time, which looked delicious when it was brought out. The chicken was cooked perfectly - tender with a bit of browning around the edges. The linguine pasta was cooked well but was drowning in wine sauce. The wine sauce didn't not have much flavor and neither did the capers that came with it. Not bad, not great...definitely nothing to write home about. Sadly I would say it was about Olive Garden quality...maybe. So conclusion: Hampstead-ites have low standards or they are riding off of the nostalgia of when J & P was good a long time ago. I reiterate that for pizza and subs, go to Tony's down the street. For pasta, I don't know...go over to Westminster to Libertore's or microwave some Stouffer's or something. read more
