We appreciated that she provided us someone, even though we felt we didn't actually need someone for the short time she was out of town--we were wrong. We ended up finding our dream home and called Julie as we wanted to make an offer the first day it came on the market. It was a Sunday and Julie worked diligently to write up an offer letter and gave us the best advice in order to win the sale. It is regretful that I feel it necessary to give Erin a poor rating, because things started off…read morewell. She visited our home and met with us in person to go over our loan options with us. She gave as the impression that she'd make herself available for us to answer questions, and told us she liked to give a high level of personal service. She was friendly, personable and we looked forward to working with her. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill as time went on and when we actually called on her to utilize her services. Each time we had a question and tried to call Erin, she never answered the phone whether it was morning, afternoon or evening. When we'd leave a message and ask her to call us, she never did, instead she chose to send us one-line e-mails. The personal service that we thought we'd be getting from her was completely not there. When it came time to fill out our loan application, we discovered that Erin had left town for two weeks without mentioning it to us. But since the application had to be filled out immediately, it could not wait for her to return. We asked to work with another representative from the company, but Erin refused to comply with that request. She insisted that she call from Alaska to go over the application with us over the phone. What happened was she was over 30 minutes late for our scheduled phone appointment, and due to the poor reception where she was we were barely able to hear the entire conversation with her. What proceeded to happen over the next few weeks was we'd receive more cryptic one-line e-mails stating that we needed various items to complete the process. Never were they explained either in what they were or how to get them. This lack of communication seemed to be the case with Erin's coworkers as well, because when one of them called to ask for more documentation for a particular matter he seemed to not have any idea what she wanted. We went though an entire series of confused e-mails until our Realtor stepped in, called us and ironed things out. By that point we were ready to give up and go with ANY other lending agent, but unfortunately we were too far along in the process to start over. On at least one occasion after we'd gone about the process to deliver a particular item, she told us it wasn't necessary after all. The one good thing about the process was at our closing, all the documents and funds were ready to go and everything was in order. The closing representative was impressed by the completeness with which Erin had prepared things. I feel this earns her the single star for this review. Unfortunately, I would not recommend Erin and feel her lack of personal attention made the entire process very difficult on my wife and me during our recent move. When I brought up some of these issues and our frustration to Erin she became defensive, trying to spin things in her favor, which ultimately just made things worse. Good customer service means taking ownership for your mistakes, not deflection and denial. Had we known what we were in for, we would have gone with a different company and I would recommend you do the same.
