Unfortunately, one of my gel nails chipped and fell off before the 24-hour mark. FYI, gel manicures usually last about two weeks for me. I was on vacation so I reached out to the manicurist on social media to give her the feedback and all I got was a "That should NOT have happened." I called the salon hoping they would be a little more apologetic and the person that answered was extremely cold and unhelpful. I told her that I basically didn't have a manicure anymore and she responded, "Umm, you definitely still have a manicure." She said I could get a 50% refund or could come in when I was back to have them fixed. I knew they would have been grown out by that time - little did I know, they would all peel off before the end of my trip. I guess I was looking for either a full refund or a free manicure since I had spent $70 and left a very generous tip but apparently they don't really care about customer retention. Requested I give it a few more washes and another week and she would then tone it. (Toning would darken--not lighten). She said she looked over my photos and said when I left the salon she thought she did what I wanted--she did however it washed out. I messaged her to let her know that I went some place else. Where I was informed that she did not leave it on my hair long enough and it was not blended well at all. I had paid $360 (with tip, to Mallory). She not only didn't offer to refund ANY of my money, she also didn't even apologize that I had went someplace else. I would never go back to her based on the lack of response and refund. Terrible.

I was in the area for my cousin's high school graduation. My cousin wanted to get her hair done for Prom, and found this place on her own through internet searches. She made a reservation based on good reviews she read. We got there a bit early and they got her in right away. She showed her stylist a photo of the kind of hairstyle she wanted, which was braids in the front connecting to a bun in the back (I'm doing a poor job of describing it, but it's a fairly simple style). The stylist started doing something, then undid it because it didn't look right, then tried something else again, and was clearly struggling a bit with my cousin's Asian hair (very straight and sleek). I don't blame her for this, since our hair texture can be tricky to work with if you don't have a lot of experience with it. After about half an hour of this she asked a senior stylist for help, which I thought was very appropriate. But then the senior stylist said to my cousin, "You need to make up your mind about what you want to do, because we can't be trying a million different styles. We're wasting a lot of time." I had been watching the whole time from the waiting area, and her attitude and tone of voice with my cousin made me really angry because she was trying to blame the problem on my 17yo cousin. I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't want to make the situation worse by making them mad, thereby risking them messing up my cousin's hair. The senior stylist did end up making it work out and the final hairstyle looked good (hence the 4 stars), but her attitude the whole time trying to make my cousin feel like she had done something wrong left a bitter taste in both our mouths.

She had cut and highlighted my hair a couple times in the past and did a good job. My only complaint would be that she was easily distracted by other staff while she was doing my hair. She is an experienced stylist who charges $100 for a haircut. After about a month or so, I decided to have the extensions removed. I washed and dried my hair like I usually do but the extensions tangled and I could not get a brush through them and I needed a highlight. When I sat down she looked at my hair and started to scold me Like I was a child. She said the hair around the extensions had matted and continued to condescend to me and mock me as she started literally ripping them from my scalp with a rat tail comb, pulling my hair out by the roots in clumps. I watched the clumps fall on the black cover. This was so incredibly painful and she was well aware. I endured it because I knew they had to come out. The whole time she worked on my hair, she took phone calls and returned texts. She finally got them out and proceeded with my highlight continuing to text with her son about some event they were planning. My hair was processing and she left me in the chair so long (much longer than necessary) I had to ask the receptionist to ask Lisa if she had forgotten about me. During the cut, I asked her not to cut into the sides but she did it anyway. I couldn't wait to get out of there. This just went from bad to worse but I wanted it to be done. It's not as if I could have stopped the process halfway. I certainly won't go back. I've never experienced anything like this.

Dani cut my hair and she was super sweet but in the middle of my cut someone else had come in and she called out that she would get to them when she was dine with my hair, but it must have been at that point they started to rush the progress on my cut and was getting sort of careless. I got layers and the longer I look the more apparent it is that they are just blunt cut straight across. I'm not exaggerating it looks like I got hime bangs but all around my head lol. I think this stylist is very talented and has done some great work before but I'm not a regular of hers and the other people who came in were obviously a personal prior so I don't think my hair was really taken as seriously especially since I had prepaid. I did try to communicate gently that I was unsatisfied with my hair but she wasn't really open to exploring options to help me be happy with it, they just told me my hair was unhealthy and there wasn't a lot we could do. I also don like to argue with people about their professions because it feels unfair to tell them how to do what they are trained for, but at the end of the day I really don't like my hair and it's affected my self esteem pretty heavily.
