During my consultation, Dr. Bedi told me that he was confident he would correct my contour imbalances and give me a "modest four-pack". It would be a very costly procedure, but I assumed I was in good hands. Over two years and $20,000 later, my results were far from this. I am left with one of the fakest looking abdominal etch surgeries I've ever seen in my life and I am devastated. Within days after surgery, I noticed thick, boxy lines developing from chest to lower abdomen area, which began to get progressively darker and more noticeable over time. Even though I was still in the early process of healing, I could tell that my results were not at all what we discussed during the consultation. And all of the original problem areas and imbalances that I had were not fully corrected and still very much an issue. During my sixth week postop visit, the lines that had darkened were so obvious that it baffled me how the doctor didn't address it immediately. only until I brought it up. Only after I brought it up, he told me that the dark lines could be treated with a $500 steroid cream, that "may or may not work". Due to his lack of basic knowledge and care, I chose not to fill the script and hope for the best. Over a year later and fully healed, the terrible abdominal etch and problem areas were still there. And now causing me a great deal of mental and emotional anguish. I didn't feel comfortable taking off my shirt in public, because people would stare and ask questions about my obvious surgical procedures. I did not want that kind of attention. It was getting to be very embarrassing to have to explain what happened to me and why I hadn't considered a medical malpractice lawsuit yet. In a calm manner, I brought my concerns to Dr. Bedi and his team during and after each post-op appointment. He recommended a laser treatment that ultimately would not work and could have potentially caused more problems. He also stated the imbalances were due to my "anatomy" and were now all of a sudden impossible to correct. And his team even tried to sell me more surgical procedures. At this point, I lost all trust and faith in this practice as a whole. I was not going to come back. So I requested my surgical notes and decided to seek out other options to fix the poor work that has been done. Once I received and reviewed the documents, I realize that the notes did not align with the alleged procedures I had paid for. I attempted to get into communication with the office for some kind of explanation and have yet to receive correspondence up until now. Throughout this journey, I had hoped to maintain a level of discretion and privacy, but feeling ignored and disregarded, I have no choice but to go public with my experience, as it seems to hold no concern to Dr. Bedi and his team at Tampa Surgical Arts this point. It has been over 2 years, I've had to spend thousands more to attempt to fix botched surgery and undo the new insecurities caused because of it. I would not recommend this doctor, especially for people of color who risk development of hyperpigmentation or darkening to the skin, because they simply are not educated enough to handle it.

I was referred to Jolie Smiles by a local dentist that was a family friend who knew a dentist that went to dental school with Dr. Truong. Upon my initial visit/consult, I was advised to get a whole new upper and lower denture to go with the implants that I had received from another practice that left me with bruises, pain and an uneven bite. Dr. Truong required full payment upfront before any work was done. No 24 hour smile here, it was one full year of waiting for a proper fitting prosthetic to come in from an offsite lab, all while living with a temporary prosthetic. I lost weight and had difficulty chewing. With every visit, I felt like I was rushed. Most visits I brought a family member who also witnessed no accountability, always blaming the offsite labs for not creating a proper fit. I was even told at one point to bite food and chew with my front side teeth not my back, and to give each adjustment a couple of months of practice. Ridiculous! Again, no accountability. My last visit I was told to find another doctor, so I went to the dentist that referred me to her and he suggested going back to try to resolve and that I must've been a misunderstanding. In one final attempt, I decided to try once more with a family member to witness, to see if there was anything else she might be able to do to help me get the right fit to help me chew right. Would you believe I was told that her practice only allows three fittings for a prosthetic and that I would now have to pay an additional $150 a visit. I left discouraged and feeling defeated. It has been 2 years and I am still seeking ongoing care to get a proper fit.

So far, I can say that the front-end staff is awesome. All of them and the Doctor as well!!!! The one star is not reflective of the care I have received thus far.... I have a long way to go before the implants are completed! Well, it has been nearly a year and a half since I stepped into Jolie Smiles. First, I felt like it was going to be an awesome experience. Well, I will fast forward on my experience. I have had several operations by (whom I later learned) was the Dr.'s husband. He was (my) the dental surgeon. He and his team removed several of the previous implants. No problems with the surgeon or his staff. In the ensuing year and one half, I ended up with an upper and lower (full mouth) implants. On each step of the process, I felt rushed to accept what became a full mouth of implants. Suffice it to say that in the end, like right now, I am very unhappy with the implants. I can barely eat a slice of toast. The teeth on the inside are uneven and chewing ability is horrible. In addition, my speech in impaired! I made mention to the Dr. about this! So, you may say, why haven't you contacted Dr. Troung? Well, first, I refused to sign a letter stating I was satisfied with my implants! Also, I did receive letter indicating that I could not go back to this happy office!!! I was told to find another dentist. Plain and simply. This is not the end of my experience with this situation. Oh, and I had what was called some run ins with two or three of her staff members. One of her assistants I requested that she not call me by my first name. I am a senior and elect not to be called by my first name. This I made clear to the Dr. and her staff. I was still called by my first name. The next situation was where the Dr.'s assistant could not get the temporaries out, (why?) she said she was using the wrong instruments. There is more to that encounter. These are the only two situations that I can remember. I did refuse to leave the office without speaking to the Dr. about a situation. Ultimately, she came into a room to listen to my comments. So, do I recommend this facility? A Doctor that refuses to fix a problem that is still haunting me? What do you think? I would love to end my life (having spent thousands and thousands of cash dollars on my teeth,) a happy SENIOR citizen. The end...! (January 23, 2025)

The only reason why I gave 4 and not 5 stars is that when my treatment plan was presented to me, I declined the fluoride along with all of my kids declining it as well. With each interaction the hygienist still attempted to apply the fluoride and with 2 of my kids was successful applying it even after it was declined. I was with my son during check out and caught that the extra charge was applied, the front desk was very accommodating and reversed it, but I didn't realize until later that my daughter was charged and paid for something that was declined. I will say the front desk did handle it very well, but it did bother me that even after instructions to decline that you still have to be on guard to ensure that your request is not ignored so that was a little annoying. Also, my daughter was referred to Mosaic to remove her wisdom teeth. If you happen to get a referral for them find another oral surgeon, I am already having an issue with the way they are billing and the person I dealt with in billing has zero desire to do the right thing for the patient.

What a great addition it is - brand new office in a brand new building, beautifully furnished and decked-out with amazing high-tech dental equipment. Something I've never seen before - a camera they move around inside your mouth and it takes thousands of photos which somehow get automatically edited together to create very detailed pictures of your teeth. I guess it replaces those old plaster molds they used to have to make to do your dental work. Amazing. Oh, and if there's any wait, they've got free cold and hot drinks to keep you comfortable.This expansion of Tampa Smile Co. now provides locations on Tampa's south and north sides. I waited for two hours while they supposedly obtained this pre-approval. After paying the copay, I received the procedure. However, I was later sent an invoice stating that my insurance had rejected the claim. When I contacted my insurance company, I learned that the dental office had never actually obtained pre-approval. When I confronted the office about this, they claimed it was a "pre-determination," not a pre-approval. I have all of this documented in emails from them. Please be cautious--my experience suggests they may provide misleading information and engage in questionable billing practices.
