What is it with massage places and not being able to contact them? This is the second place I've found this week that doesn't even have the courtesy, professionalism, or common decency to contact customers back. Apparently it's a habit with this company. For three business days, I have called numerous times during business hours in order to discuss services. Not once did this company answer the phone. Not one phone message has been returned either (about 8 total over three days). In addition, contacting them via the email address listed on their web site gets my message bounced back with a MAILBOX FULL response. I wanted to discuss services based upon supposedly high reviews. However, I honestly wonder why it is I'm wasting my efforts when the company clearly doesn't want my business. read more

If you purchased a Groupon for a massage at Illumination Spa, good luck!! I'm not sure if the business is actually still open. I purchased the Body Bliss Massage through Groupon back in October, and made the appointment online for 1/29/19 at 11:00 am (the earliest was late Dec but I opted Jan due to holiday season). I got an automated email reminder the day before. The location is not the one that printed on Groupon voucher. It's the one from the email confirmation and reminder. It's inside a chiropractor office on Old Milton. I went there and knocked on the door, call, text and repeat. Waited in the car for 30 mins hoping someone will come. Nothing, no reply for my texts or calls. Not sure what's going on but I contacted Groupon and they're willing to refund my money at least... phew... read more

I bought a Groupon deal a few months ago because it's very close by. Part of me also feared that other people were also making their reservations that I might not be able to book an appointment before the deal's expiration date. That's the problem with these deals. I found that the best way to make a reservation was on the website. I've called the phone number twice before and nobody picked up. So I was a little hesitant about what my experience would be like. Honestly, I give this place 3 stars, but I really wanted to give it 4 if it weren't for the late start of my massage. The day of my appointment, they called and asked if I could come by 30 minutes after my scheduled time. I said I could and upon arriving, I came to an empty waiting area. Maybe it's a test of patience but I waited there for about 10 minutes before the masseuse showed up to tell me that she's wrapping up a session with another client. This took another 10-15 min before I was settled on the massage table. The good thing about this place is that even though the Bliss massage deal came with a body scrub, the masseuse was willing to customize it for me because my skin's been sensitive lately. Instead of the scrub, she said she could do hot stone, which got me even more excited because I've never had a hot stone massage before. The entire massage felt great and she applied the heavy amount of pressure I requested. Only downside was that I could feel she was right-handed because some parts of my back wanted more pressure. I like how clean the salon is - it actually feels cleaner than the massage franchises out there like MassageEnvy or Spa Sydell. I might come back if I really wanted another relaxing experience, but given how expensive the Bliss massage was without a Groupon, I might hold off. read more

I came to the spa via a Groupon special and must say that they exceeded my expectations! First off, the location was very clean and serene. Apparently they just went through a renovation as it was very modern. I thought the room was the perfect size. Very intimate but not small at all. They also had a heated massage table which was nice. Also, I think they took the previous users advice because the instrumental track was very relaxing which also included beach sounds. At some points I really felt like I was beachside :) I had a hot stone massage by Rin. I can only say wonderful things about it. She was so agile when switching between the different stones. She provided a medium to firm massage which was the perfect amount of pressure. She was also very attentive to working on my tight muscles. She really took her time and I felt like she was really invested in ensuring that I was satisfied. In summary, she now has a new client and I plan on using her services monthly! I look forward to the other services that I will be receiving and I highly recommend Illuminations Spa. read more

The spa worked hard to provide a pleasant experience. I requested firm/deep tissue While I enjoyed most parts of the massage, there were a few instances where she applied too much pressure to an area close to the bone, so it was uncomfortable and painful. I should speak up next time, but I also hope she will check in with her clients over the course of 75 minutes so she can adjust her approach to each person's comfort level. They are located inside Decleor Paris. I came in here for a massage that I purchased from Groupon. Very friendly staff and it looks like they share it with a hair and nail salon. It was clean, and i'm sure i'll be back again, but the decor was a little off. I guess I assumed some kind of European infuence but inside there were some Asian characters and other random designs. My massage was VERY firm. I requested deep/firm and she actually delivered, unlike other massage therapists that I've been too. The room was a little smaller than I'm used to, and I would have preferred soothing instrumental music instead of the weird bird chirping, windblowing, soundtrack they had going on. Maybe if they had beach sounds.... Overall - the experience was great and I'm sure i'll be returning. read more

The Massage Parlor is nice w/ me the only customer. The bed has heated blanket & relaxing music. However, I must say that the massage was DISAPPOINTING! Having learned the different types of Massaging as Reflexologist, The massage was a lot lighter than Swedish Massage that I cannot tell the type of Massage used. The Massage Therapist needs to learn the different techniques of Massage. The session is NOT even worth the Groupon price. It was a WASTE of my time! Sorry! I do NOT recommend it! read more

We're trying to schedule 2 at the same time (as it was a gift from my boyfriend) but this is not an option on their website. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Bought Groupon for Bliss package. In process of getting a refund. Wife called this place for3 days in a row trying to speak with someone. No one answered the phone. Message said to go on line to make appointment. We tried but next available appointment is in September and groupon expires Sept 6, 2018. We tried to physically go to the location on Douglas rd which is address listed on both groupon and Yelp. GPS led me to a different massage place where illumination should be. Circled the area another 30 minutes looking for the spa. Checked spa website found different location. Drove there and turns out this spa is located inside chiropractors office without any signage for the spa. I have never used this spa and will never use because the way they run their business is 2nd rate and Bush league. Good luck to anyone else who purchases a groupon for this place. read more

As the previous ladies stated, I used a Groupon and had the Swedish massage with Rin. She was excellent and one of the best massages I have had in this area. She did take her time and delivered a firm massage. I felt relaxed and destressed. I liked the decor as it was clean and contemporary and the room was a suitable size with excellent lighting - not too dark or bright. Sometimes when using a Groupon, the people can be a little abrupt or rushed but Rin was very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely return. read more
