Great Salon! Excellent customer service, right down to answering the phone! Caitlin is superb with my color and foils! She is a true professional! I go blonde, and she has cleaned up another Salon's mistakes. She is patient with me, and always understanding. I can be a difficult customer at times, (picky about my hair) and Caitlin is always attentive. I have been there three times. My hair looks and feels great! I would give TEN stars if I could. My younger sister rarely treats herself to salon appointments, so this was supposed to be a special experience while getting ready for a military ball. Before the appointment, my mom even sent inspiration photos and explained that my sister has very thick hair. The goal was simply to avoid a heavy, blunt cut that would puff out at the bottom...common concern for thick hair. As the haircut progressed, it started looking like exactly what she had hoped to avoid. My sister politely asked if the finished cut was going to be very blunt at the bottom because she was getting a little nervous. Instead of reassuring her or talking through the plan, the stylist responded rudely and then walked away to speak with her manager. When she returned, she said, "Here's the thing. I'm going to finish what I'm doing and then you're leaving. We're not going to charge you." Imagine hearing that while you're sitting in the chair with a partially completed haircut. My sister was completely caught off guard. She isn't confrontational in the slightest and she immediately began crying. Through tears, she simply asked if someone else could at least finish drying or styling her hair for the event she was preparing for. The answer was no. She was told to leave. She walked out with wet, unfinished hair, got into her car and called my mom, sobbing. No one should leave a salon feeling embarrassed, rejected, or humiliated, especially after asking a reasonable question about their haircut! Waiving the charge does not erase the way someone is treated. Kindness, communication, and professionalism cost nothing. I sincerely hope management reflects on how this situation was handled so no one else has to experience what my sister just did. I'm writing this on behalf of my sister because she's understandably upset and is busy trying to salvage her hair before the event. To make matters worse, she's now left with a haircut that looks nothing like what she requested and exactly what she had expressed concern about during the appointment. read more

This place is pricey but you DON'T get what you pay for. I don't know what kind of color they use to cover gray hair the first time I went I was seen by the manager Erica who I thought did a good job but the call didn't last more than three weeks. I went back a second time this time I saw Jackie in within 10 days all around my hairline is gray she didn't cover gray and the roots underneath and left several messages for the manager with no callbacks. Both times I've spent over $150 which is ridiculous for such a horrible horrible job. Because of this they lost a good customer. Don't waste your money going here for any kind of hair coloring also the second time I went and had Jackie she butchered my hair so bad I can't do anything with with it. So angry! read more

I had an awful experience at two salons (one overtoned my hair and left it blue, the second tried to color correct my hair but turned it orange/pinkish) I went to this salon and my stylist was Stephanie. She was so nice made me feel welcomed. She listened to me and gave me exactly what I wanted. My hair looks and feels so healthy! I feel beautiful and confident with my hair again! Fabulous salon that is fully staffed with competent, skilled and caring stylists. I was in desperate need of a color correction (do not get your hair colored at Studio 137 in Falmouth) done the prior day. Illusions squeezed me into a fully booked schedule because they empathized with my situation. I arrived with a color that resembled Ronald McDonald, Carrot Top and a banana and my hair felt like sticky straw - I looked so ridiculous that I had to wear a hat in public. I want to specifically thank and recommend Julianne who was my appointed stylist. Julianne (and other stylists) took the time to do a color consultation with me - she showed me color swatches, set my expectations and gave me hope that I would leave there in a much better place. Julianne spent 3 hours working on my hair to get it back to a flattering color that has dimension, depth and a better, healthier texture. I would normally say Julianne worked magic but it's not magic. Julianne is exceptionally skilled at coloring and knows how to fix disaster hair that could have easily broken off if any other new process was done incorrectly. I would say she's more of a chemist than anything. Even though I'm only here in the summertime, I plan on making Illusions and Julianne my "go-to" salon during the season. New to the area and asked around what places are good for highlights for my hair. I took a chance to see if they had an appointment last min for a partial foil and toner. Jackie had a cancellation and I lucked out! I went in for the first time and was greeted with a friendly smile and offered something to drink. Jackie was very understanding about how I wanted it my hair to come out. She did an awesome job! My hair came out beautiful! I felt refreshed and relaxed. This Hair salon is amazing! I was greeted with such enthusiasm from the receptionist and a big smile! She offered a beverage of nice warm coffee! Came over consistently to make sure I was fine. Extremely clean and spotless with many clients in the chairs. Let me just tell you that Erica my hair and color expert was incredible!! My hair and color with a blow out ( I have thick course long hair ) was finished in an hour! Erica was spot on with the color and root touch up and consulted in future care and protective treatment for breakage. Just absolutely amazing experience! I have been traveling to this salon for many years as it has excellent, qualified stylists as well as reasonable prices. It is located in the Mashpee Commons so both my sister and I travel from off-Cape to come down every 6 weeks for haircuts, color, relaxers, and styling advice. We have dinner or lunch in one of the nearby restaurants and do a bit of shopping! This salon offers discounted gift certificates at various times of the year as well as other wonderful services.
