Been to Mashpee Commons for years but never knew Sea Salt was there until yesterday. Stopped by yesterday and booked Danny for a haircut; I was looking for a stylist that cut hair with scissors and razor. Danny gave me the best haircut I've had in years and will book him again. read more

Chris is the best stylist I have ever had. She is honest and will Take the time to listen to what you want and will tell you if it will work for your hair. She is a perfectionist! I have had her cut - highlight and color my hair - and I have always been happy with the results. read more

I tried the spa today with Kim the stylist. The experience was everything I had hoped for! Professional, caring knowledgeable and FUN!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO SEA SALT EVER. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE BLONDE. I got a gift card from this salon for Christmas to get a massage, you google "Massage Mashpee" and Sea Salt comes up as a luxury salon in Mashpee that does massages. Their website even says they do massages! Only to find out that was false. I decide since I have the gift card I will go get my hair done, since they don't do massages which is why I was bought the gift card in the first place. I call and make an appointment and explain in depth what I want done: my roots which are at least a few inches long and light brown bleached and toned to an ashy blonde a haircut. All set the appointment is booked! I go into the salon and sit down in Danny's chair and he starts looking at my hair and explains that he thinks we should do back to back foils and that he does not have time to do what I want. I settle and my hair is simply hight lighted and a haircut was not even given after the appointment was made. I left very upset but knowing I still had money left on my gift card I kept my mouth shut and hoped for a better experience next time. I book an appointment again for my roots to be bleached, toned to an ashy blonde, and a hair cut. I talk to the salon after I book the appointment explaining what happened at my last appointment and was assured I would have plenty of time to get everything done that I wanted with no problems. I show up to my appointment I sit down in the chair and again I was told there was not enough time to do what I wanted and back to back foils would be a better option. I was very clearly upset when this happened as Danny spent almost a half hour testing a strand of my hair and walking back and forth between their check-out counter and my chair explaining to me that he did not have enough time. Finally when I said "this is just really frustrating" it seemed like he somehow figured out that he would have enough time to do what I wanted and got to work. I showed him a picture of my hair from before that was an ashy blonde color and a picture of beach waves and a length I would like my hair to be cut at. I specifically said I wanted NO ORANGE, NO GOLD, NO YELLOW in my hair. He said he understood. The first picture I have attached is the picture of what I wanted my hair color to match, the second is the style and cut, and the rest is how my hair turned out. Nothing like what I asked for. There were other clients in the 2 chair salon so I decided to be the bigger person pay, tip 20% and run to my car attempting to not cry while looking at myself in the salon. Sea Salt is a small business so I wanted to be as respectful as possible. I left the salon and instantly started crying. I left with George Washington Curls and orange roots. It was the most embarrassing thing to even walk out of the salon into public for 30 seconds to my car. I immediately took pictures and sent them to the salon owner with an explanation. She read my messages and over a 24 hour period did not respond to my messages after I explained everything above. She finally answered me and attempted to say that I told the salon staff that I really liked my hair (which I did not, I could not even see my hair color until Danny passed me off to someone else to cut my hair because he "didn't have time"). I actually hated my hair so much that I cried, how could I tell them I liked it. She finally told me she reimbursed me my cash. I continuously asked her about the $75 I spent on a gift card and she continued to ignore my question. I messaged her one last time asking about the gift card hoping she would do the right thing and simply answer my question simply saying "its lost money" or "we can figure something out" instead of ignoring me. She then threatened to get a lawyer stating I was being aggressive and it was starting to feel like harassment. Well I guess thats the last time I try to do the right thing and not simply just post a review or make a scene at the salon! Never once was I "aggressive" or even "threatening". She never once apologized for her salon ruining my hair. read more

when I asked for a clean cut. No point cutting. I got uneven point cut , when I showed a picture of brown / blond for color. He showed me color swatches of dark dark hair. ( I didn't color it there ) When I called to have the hacked point cut fixed ? The owner wanted me to have his co worker fix it , while he was cutting others hair right next to me. No thanks. Couldn't have someone fix it on his day off.... not going there ever again. read more

Spent $240 for a cut, color and highlights . Stylist dyed my eyebrows and let me leave the salon with dye all over my face. I ran errands for an hour in Mashpee Commons like that . When I went back and complained no apology was given , I was told to use the eyebrow stylist next time. read more

I've followed stylist Danny Burke from other salons, he's very good with both cut and color. I can't wait to try their skin treatments too. They also do lashes BTW, my friends who had them done here look amazing! Danny touched up my roots and perfectly matched and complemented the complex color that I had gotten done elsewhere a month earlier. Danny's a pro and he's a lot of fun, too! Also thank you to owner Joy Pineo for taking COVID-19 precautions seriously, which I appreciated. Despite the gloves and masks and plastic, she provides a warm and human touch, and a needed refuge from the worry and stress of the outside world. The salon itself is light and bright, in a cute Mashpee Commons "cottage", beautifully and simply decorated for a nice balance of stylish and charming. read more

Sarah, is absolutely Meticulous when doing lashes. They look so natural and Sarah is creative. I wanted longer lashes on the outer part of my eyes with a more dramatic look, they came out perfect. Sarah has done my lashes short too. I wanted them short at one point and I have alternated styles throughout my visits. I am always 100% satisfied! read more

Sea Salt Spa Studio is a fabulous boutique salon in Mashpee Commons. Joy , the owner cares about her clients in and out of the salon. During this pandemic, she spent time making homemade hand sanitizer and leaving it outside for her clients. They offer hair, face, lashes, and unique twists on regular services. They really cater to the clients needs. I highly recommend this Spa Studio. read more

Very disappointed when I checked in for my 12pm appointment yesterday & they told me there must be a mistake and they couldn't take me. Never mind that I had received a day of appointment text confirmation at 11 am, an email confirmation the day before and on 8/12, the day I made my appointment. I called the owner and she found someone to come me in. She showed up 40 minutes later. She was about to begin and realized there was only one blow dryer in the salon that was in use by the other stylist. Then discovered there was only one curling iron also in use by the other stylist. So she decided to walk over to CVS & purchase both with money from the salon. 15 minutes later she returned and started my wash & blowout. For a 30 minute appointment that was made 3 weeks ago, I was in the salon for 2.5 hrs. I am giving a 2 star rating because I was appreciative that the owner sent someone in to do my hair- who by the way was not even an employee of the salon. I was charged $45 for the service. I will not return to this salon and am writing this review to warn others to confirm and reconfirm any appointment that they make. read more
