While some of the items are seasonal, they have inventory for a few holidays in advance of the current one. There are also some local sports team-related items. Some of the more interesting items were the large, life-size cardboard cutouts of movie and cartoon characters. Those might make for an interesting conversation starter for a party, if that's your thing. What a headache! 3 of the 5 dresses ordered were a little…read moretight. We were told after, the floor dresses are stretched a little due to them being tried on so often. Would be nice if this was mentioned before or if they would correctly measured so people were ordering the correct size. 2 dresses were ordered under the wrong party name (2 dresses under 1 person and another bridesmaid wasn't listed), wasn't a big deal just frustrating! One of the dresses has 2 small holes in it, also not pleased because its past the 7 day return policy and nothing will be done.

The girls choose their dresses (at a whopping $1600.00 each) with essentially NO help from employees. upon ordering they were told to order a size bigger. We listened to the professionals!! Made another 300 mile trip to arrange for alterations. The dresses were both way to big(I believe that they do this on purpose) and both dresses needed $400 to $700 worth of alterations. They girls were so very discouraged. But, it had to be done. 3rd appointment- was supposed to try the dress on and it be the final fitting like the seamstress said- NOPE-neither dress was correct-the adjustments that were agreed upon were not completed. We are down to 3 weeks for one of the weddings so she had to just take it. However, they made her sign off on the dress or they would not let her take it. $2200 in and still needs fixed. My other daughter had to leave hers again for the fourth trip, as it still was NOT right. They actually ruined her dress by cutting tooling off with scissors. You can see the scissor marks. The seamstress told her that she could not fix it!!!!!DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. We have since heard many stories such as ours . And not only the one in Billings.

I was a little disappointed that Step 'n Out didn't have as big of an array of inclusive sizing options as I was hoping- at least not in the styles I looked at. I'm a fairly average street size 14- around Bridal 20 and found this shop less options that were size inclusive. Especially for Billings MT- which caters to a variety of sizes of Brides. I understand that bridal offers different sizes, but the experience of being well & tightly fitted into potential dress with clamps vs. falling out of a dress with straps that are barely hanging onto me because it's too small did affect my comfort, experience and desire to make a purchase at this shop. I had a particular dress in mind, I mentioned in my email re: wanting to sample it and included my street size and they insisted it was available, but upon arrival it was a much smaller and I didn't get the best opportunity to see how it would fit had it been closer to my size or even larger than my size. My try on experience was affected by the lack of disclosing the small sample sizing, as well as the smaller selection available.
