I cannot believe we just discovered Ilusión--what a gem. The atmosphere is stylish and relaxed with a cool speakeasy vibe that makes it feel like a hidden find. The food was outstanding. I had the huevos divorciados, which were absolutely delicious--the sauces were rich and flavorful and everything was perfectly balanced. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito, which was huge and packed with flavor. And the truffle fries...wow. My daughter ordered them, but they were so good we all ended up sharing. Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and easily some of the best fries we've had anywhere. The drinks were just as impressive. I ordered the Icaro spicy margarita, which had the perfect balance of heat, citrus, and sweetness. Definitely a standout cocktail. But the highlight of the experience was our waitress, Nataliya. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming--her service made the whole meal feel special. Great food, great drinks, great service, and a really cool atmosphere. Visited Illusion in Mansfield to catch up with friends. There was no wait, and the service was good. The restaurant is small with dim lighting, and parking is very limited. The queso was the only thing we really enjoyed--everything else, including the drinks, was disappointing. They do appear to offer a Saturday happy hour, and there's also a small outdoor seating area on the side. read more

It's a tucked in restaurant off the street. I came here for an early dinner with a friend. The aura of the restaurant is very nice. Nice decor. Wasn't packed at all especially for a Sunday around 4p. Our host was very nice and explained the popular items to us. I want to say his name was Trey. I stepped out of my box and explored the Birria sandwich which I did. It was HUGE. I couldn't even finish it all. It wasn't my favorite, but I did like the side sauces that accompanied the meal. It will still be a fur filling meal for anyone. My friend ate his entire meal, he really enjoyed it. He had the enchiladas. I had the Hercules drink which was refreshing. I would come back and try this restaurant again. read more

I stopped by this restaurant because I was hungry and in the area and it looked cute so when I went inside, but I'm honest was really nice. There wasn't a lot of people there so it wasn't super busy however the staff never acknowledged me or greeted me. I stood there for 10 to 15 minutes waiting. We went because it was highly recommended. We were not impressed, we will not return. Even with the place being mostly empty, service was slow and our server Adu did not bring us our full order. We had omelets, I asked for Pico de gallo to go with my omelet and by the time he came back my food was lukewarm. They don't have jelly or ham to go with thr toast. The hash browns were under cooked. The Arnold Palmer drink was awful. Adu didn't come back to check on us, we had to ask another server to refill our water glasses. We will not return that's for sure. Nice Mexican style restaurant in downtown Mansfield. Serving small plates in the Mexico City style. Food was tasty and well presented. Small dining room but a large covered patio with lots of tables and chairs. Cannot wait until it is cooler to sit out there for a meal. It has only been opened since October 2024 I believe, so still trying to get some of the service kinks and staff totally trained. Good selection of Tequilas..AguaSol Blanco and Reposado are my go to tequilas and they have them. Have not tried any of the desserts yet. read more

The place is pretty small but really cute and stylish. My waiter, Lalo, was a doll and catered to all my requests. My 3 olive martini was def up to my high standards. My food was way better than anticipated! I got the Ilo de Alo w salmon. Super buttery and flavorful! Then I hit the bar to hang w the bartenders. They were friendly and up for a challenge! I enjoyed my visit here. Although, I am slightly concerned that it was pretty dead for a Saturday. They have a huge patio and no one was on it! Love this place! Chill vibes, cute, trendy decor. The happy hour food is really good. My fav are the fries - huge portion and cooked to perfect. You have to try the old fashioned - made with mezcal and gives a top notch smoky flavor. Even the house margs are delicious. Service can be a bit slow at times but not horrible. A Hidden Gem in Mansfield- Ilusion is the Real Deal! Stopped in and sat at the bar and was immediately impressed by how clean and stylish the space is. The lighting sets the perfect vibe: modern, warm, and inviting. Ilusion has only been open for about six months, but it already feels like a staple in Mansfield's dining scene. Trey was holding it down behind the bar and made the whole experience feel welcoming and easygoing. I kicked things off with their Spicy Mule, normally served with tequila, but I opted for vodka. Great move. Their cocktail menu is seriously impressive, and the beer, wine, and liquor selection is just as solid. Now let's talk food: the Baja Shrimp Tacos and Birria Tacos were absolutely fantastic. Flavor-packed, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. I even ordered a pound of the Birria to go and my wife and I devoured it the next day. Just as good reheated! If you're looking for a fresh spot with great energy, elevated drinks, and food that hits, Ilusion is it. Definitely a new go-to in town. Great place in downtown Mansfield for drinks and dinner. They have been open for about 4 months. They offer happy hour menu prices 5pm-7pm. Great spot for a date night. I enjoyed sitting at the bar, drinking speciality mixed cocktails and eating their delicious Baja shrimp tacos. Wonderful customer service and atmosphere. I will definitely return. read more

There was nothing good at the restaurant. Starting with service. Our waitress was so slow with serving us. We ordered queso as an appetizer but it was straight water!! We asked to get guacamole instead. It wasn't the best-just not very flavorful. My husband had the Birria sandwich. His sandwich was burnt and the consome was clear and tasteless. I got the tinga tacos that everyone raved about on here. They weren't the best and had more cabbage on them than chicken and cheese. We will never come back read more

Really wanted to love this place. It was ok...hubby said he would give it another chance, but kinda hit me like Mehan's. Lots of hype, but service sub par. Took a good minute to get greeted...we were sitting at a high top by the bar, 2 bar tenders at least 4 servers and a food runner that I truely hope staff doesn't have to share tip with. Took another 15 min to get a cocktail and a glass of wine and food took another 20 min. When we got there there was only 2 other tables, so a bit confused why service seemed to drag. While we waited on food (hubby got cerviche I got a quesedilla-came out barely luke warm) pretty much all wait staff were hanging at the bar/service area and they were ALL ON THEIR PHONES. That just sets the tone for me. Not sure if there was a manager around, but I wouldn't put up with that. Ate what we got and left. Went to the wine bar down the street and got flights of wine and a pizza and had a lovely conversation with the owners there. Good luck. Hope it improves. The service was rude, and they initially refused to acknowledge us upon walking in the door. Eventually, they sat us down. About 10 minutes after being seated everyone that was being seated after us was served first, and the waiters kept walking past us without taking action. We then got up and went and got a manager, we were told they thought we left. After speaking with a manager, the issue was supposedly resolved, we we're going to stay to get drinks. Immediately after, a waiter who was going to service us later came and yelled at us very rudely ," You went and complained to the manager? Do you still want the drinks!" about 3 times and so we just got up and left. We never experienced anything like this & I won't ever come back. read more

This place is underrated in my opinion. I had no idea it was even where it is. My friend invited me out to this place and I had no idea what she was talking about. Its off of Main Street but kind of tucked away, behind a building that sits in the middle of a parking lot. You come in and it feels like a private restaurant or a speak easy. It had low light and has a secretive feel. The staff was a little slow to come and take our order, but the waitress was very nice.. Beer selection was limited to Mexican beer which "made" me explore their mixed drinks. I can't complain about my drink, I cant remember the name, but it was very appealing to the eyes and it hit the spot. Chips and queso were good too. The chip bowls were smaller but who really cares when they refill them. I cant remember what I ordered that night because I tried my husband enchiladas ( I normally dont eat enchiladas but I tried theirs) and thats all I can think about! They were so good! The portions are smaller but honestly I normally fill up on chips and salsa at other restaurants, then take my leftovers home. I do have to say I DID NOT LEAVE THERE HUNGRY.
