Took truck in for a service light. Told us we did something wrong- charged us for labor to look at it. Shortly after, light comes on again. Take it back in and told it "XYZ 'needed to be replaced". Cost was $2000+. Call around- take it to a reputable place that also specializes in Diesel. XYZ was not even broken or needing replaced. Actual cost for the service light issue was $451. Later find out, the item Gem State wanted to replace was just replaced BY THEM year and half ago! Something is fishy with this company. You'll be dumping thousands before you know it. Steer clear.

Brett was honest and said if it was his wife's car he would not replace yet. Brett showed great character as I would have never known unless he was honest. It's my first time at Little Man Auto and I have found a trustworthy shop to do repairs on our vehicles now. So glad I went there and when it's time he'll be the one to fix any repairs & keep our cars maintained. This kind of integrity is so rare these days!

They said they use NAPA oil filters but…read moreI inspected it afterwards and it didn't even have a brand; just a part number on a plain white canister. And it was cheap: $7.99 on the invoice. Napa filters are black and say "Napa Gold" and cost about $14. My biggest concern is whether the filter has a silicone anti-drainback valve for cold weather starts. I interviewed the service advisor about when to change my transmission fluid, transfer case fluid, and rear differential fluid since the Ram owner's manual says they are good for the life of the vehicle (huh??). He asked me if I towed with it and gave me transmission intervals of 60k miles for that or 75k miles; that seemed like an intelligent answer, and a reasonable interval. Other shops have tried to upsell me on premature service (30k mile intervals for those three) that I don't need and we all know why. Little Man went ahead and inspected the three fluids and we discovered an issue with the rear differential. I asked to look at the fluid and it showed cloudy fragments of suspected metal so I authorized a fluid change. They recommended I come back after 500 miles to take off the cover plate and inspect the gears, changing the fluid of course in the process. Could be simply initial wear-in from the factory but we will see. I'm looking for a partner shop to work with now that my truck is out of warranty and I am still evaluating LIttle Man Auto. Their shop looked clean and well organized. Pricing for the oil change was competitive with other shops. BTW if you go there, the shop is located BEHIND Bros Auto.

But thankfully, she waited to fall apart until we got to the Treasure Valley and into the right hands: Chris (SERIOUSLY knowledgable & a wizard with parts and pricing) and Jason (the Master Technician Magician with a sharp eye and zero B.S.). My sons car started to smoke and then eventually came to a complete halt by the Hilton Garden Inn in Eagle. Fortunately, my brother has AAA and through AAA they contacted Country Repair and 24 Hr Towing. Dispatch and the driver were always in contact with my brother and thr massive flat bed tow truck arrived. The driver was completely friendly and super helpful. The tow truck driver delivered my sons car to our home in meridian where my sons car stayed parked for three months. During this time, my son desperately tried to get it fixed but could not. He ended up getting a job and saving this money. We already contacted another repair place that did not absolutely nothing - that's another review for another time but we had such a good experience with the towing company that we least contact them again to another repair shop. The twist in all of this was remembering the name of the towing company several months back. After some high level detective work, we figured it out it was Country Repair and Towing. We called and spoke with very kind man, Rollen perhaps, he was so patient as I tried to explain the issue with my sons car with my caveman car intelligence. I spoke with dispatch to schedule the towing from our home to Country Repair and they provided a quote and a discount if the repair was done with Country Repair. Within the hour, a driver arrived and towed my sons car away. A day later, the team from Country Repair called and had some questions. Due to my lack of automotive knowledge, I was not able to answer the questions but the team was more than willing to call my son back and ask the same questions as he has an automotive encyclopedic mind. I received a call about five days later that my sons car was ready. My wife and I drove out to Country Repair where I met everyone on the team. The dispatch ladies were super funny and we shared a good laugh and then I met with the main tech who explained everything in detail. We settled the bill and I drove my sons car to his workplace. There was never a moment where I felt I was swindled or deceived. There was complete transparency during the whole time and best of all, my son' car works like it should. If you need a tow or a repair, I recommend Country Repair and Towing.
