I can't believe I'm going to say this....but I really liked this dental office. You would never catch me saying I liked a dentist's office before but this place was absolutely terrific. Great over the phone, at the front desk, with the tech, and the dentist was super nice as well. I am from out of town and had a filling come out. A friend from work recommended this place and said his whole family goes here. They got me in within just a few days and they took care of the exam, x-rays and the filling procedure all in 1 visit which I very much appreciated. I payed for this visit out of pocket and was very relieved to see the charges were perfectly fair for what I had done and the amount of time involved. This brought me to tears. The staff at Image Dental has been amazing especially Lisa. Lisa got us an appointment on a short term notice, had help get my daughter the care she needs , she was in the phone with me with insurance to help verify payment for surgery. Every time that I have walked into this dental office, they all greet me and they're so kind. Great Staff! They're all prompt and thorough with their appointments. Ive never had to wait more than 5mins for them to call me back. They were able to provide me with a treatment plan that worked out for me. I definitely appreciate the guidance and help. Specifically on this trip, my first and definitely not last trip,Stephanie my dental hygienist was sweet, took her time and made me feel welcome and like I had been going there for years. I felt so comfortable. This was just a basic cleaning but Stephanie offered me laser treatment for my gums at an amazing price of $40 to kill bacteria and promote healthier gums. After being turned down by 4 other orthodontists and implant specialist for 2 years (this was a very difficult implant replacement case) we finally found the right Dentist to resolve dads problems and get him smiling again. My family of four have been visiting Image dental for the past 5 years. They have been providing excellent dental services for us. They are also so flexible to reschedule our appointments even short notices, which is a huge relief when things happen like kids' school schedule changes or job schedule changes. Recently, we encountered the denial of the expense in the flexible account. Navia requested us to reimburse the denied amount. Lisa helped us prepare the proof and sent messages to Navia to explain the situation. The correspondences had gone back and forth for a number of times and dragged on for weeks. So, I was prepared to just give up and pay them back. With Lisa's professionalism, she had successfully 'taught' Navia how to deal with this claim. The denial has now been resolved. Originally I loved going to Image Dental but my last two experiences have not been the best. I had to cancel my appointment due to Covid exposure which was last minute of course. I called the office to inform them but they were not in at the time so I left a message. Later that morning I get this very RUDE message from a staff member practically yelling at me saying that my appointment could've went to someone else. I do understand short notice cancellations can cause problems but the way I was treated it was not necessary. They continue to yell and inform me that I must pay a late fee before any other appointments would be scheduled. I called the office to explain why again I had to cancel at such short notice. They continue to inform me about the late fee which is no problem to pay it. Just didn't like the way they made me feel about canceling the appointment. Second appointment. I receive a call the day before my appointment around 2:25 to remind me of my appointment the next day. They informed me that I had until 3:00 o'clock to confirm my appointment or it would be canceled, Keep in mind I'm at work and I can't check my phone while working. I called them around 3:30 hoping my appointment had not been canceled yet. The young lady who was very nice informed me she was following office protocol. Which is fine but they need to give us patients more time to respond. Once I get to my appointment I check in. I waited 20 minutes and asked the girls at the front desk was the dentist running behind? She checked and informed me that they forgot to tell them I was ready. Not good! Once my treatment started let's just say I didn't have the best experience with my hygienist it was awful. There are many YouTube videos regarding dentist who gouge their patients for services not needed. This was our experience with Dr Ashton. During the exam he said teeth and gums looked good. However, on the hospital release form he stated there was gum disease and insisted on deep root cleaning and scaling which would amount to extra charges. We were furious with his 'switch and bait' tactic. We obtained a second opinion from a different doctor who said the gums were in good health and couldn't look much better; deep root cleaning and scaling were not necessary. Our new dentist signed the release form and even made a note that the gums exhibited no gum disease. Checking around, we found other people who were displeased with Ashton as well...described as arrogant, pretentious and pompous...and would only go to Dr Nozaki at Image Dental. This is fair warning to all against gouging and misinformation merely to make additional charges. read more

I've been going to Image Dental for almost 5 years. Shortly after I moved to Stockton I started searching for a good dentist. I went online and read reviews and picked them because of the many good reviews I found. And they never disappointed! I had different dental issues over those years and they were always excellent in every aspect. Every one in this office is amazing. Lisa the office manager is always eager to help answering my unending questions, Megan who worked on my orthodontic issues so brilliantly, Robin who always cleans my teeth to perfection, all the super sweet and helpful front desk ladies. And of course the very knowledgeable and professional Dr. Nozaki! He did 2 crowns for me and supervised my orthodontic treatment. He's extremely nice and patient, he explains what needs to be done clearly and answers all the questions. I recently got married and my husband had another dentist and I convinced him to switch to see Dr. Nozaki. He's been very pleased with all his dental work including the really hard to fix broken tooth. Would definitely recommend Image Dental to everyone.. read more

The hygienist did a great job cleaning my teeth but their sales strategy needs some serious work. We discussed possible "deep cleaning" to prevent periodontal disease if I couldn't tolerate the teeth cleaning. Only one quadrant of my teeth was sensitive to the cleaning. The hygienist jumped on it and said that they'd just take me back to numb the area and deep clean. I had to ask explicitly if it was covered by my insurance and it turned out that it was not, nor did she know the price. I said I wasn't interested today. She said she'd make the appt then and I responded that I would be happy to talk about it at the end, no need to make an appt. The dentist reviewed my x-rays and wanted to redo many of my existing fillings. Ok. Everyone needs business and I have insurance, why not? He did a good job explaining the x-rays, despite not introducing himself when he came into the room. Then the front desk tells me that I've been scheduled to have all 4 quadrants of my teeth deep cleaned (that means lidocaine in all 4 quadrants of the mouth just for cleaning!) and when I stated that the hygienist had no trouble cleaning 3 of 4 quadrants and I only needed 1 quadrant "deep" cleaned, they insisted that I needed them all. After going in the back and allegedly discussing with the doctor and hygienist, I was told that they wouldn't redo my fillings (they talleyed up around $4k of work that *we* would do over 2 years ) if I didn't do the deep cleaning because "there would be too much bleeding." Periodontal disease is real but your logic is not, Image Dental. Listen, you don't need to be a doctor to understand that an injection of numbing medicine with a tiny gauge needle to fix a filling in the least sensitive part of the tooth (furthest from the site of bleeding aka the gums) isn't going to start gushing blood and risking blood supply to the rest of the body -- even less of a risk if a patient isn't on blood thinners. In fact, dentists and doctors often use lidocaine with epinephrine specifically to prevent bleeding because epinephrine causes your blood vessels to temporarily tighten up, allowing people to work on your body with less blood in the way. But it turns out that I am a physician, so hearing the false knowledge that my fillings can't be worked on due to risk of bleeding unless I get a cleaning from an individual who is not a health professional was just offensive and revealed poor business practice and lack of medical ethics. Scare tactics and blatant lies don't belong in the health field. I get that dentistry is about the money and this experience only made that fact more apparent, but I expected a modicum of ethical healthcare and was left disappointed. I made sure to cancel the appointment I didn't ask for and clarified that any and all appointments they made for me should be canceled. I also took a bill for what they sent to my insurance because after that experience, I don't trust them. read more

Went in for a cleaning and Steph made it feel like a walk through the park it was nice and relaxing how she walked me through each stage as she was cleaning I felt very comfortable and she did a great job. I see that they are busy as other people are walking in and out of their appointments but I didn't feel rush or neglected each staff answered any concerns and questions I had like I was the only patient there. Their appointment confirmation system puts puts them at an advantage over their customers. They will cancel your appointment for no reason. I've been a longtime customer of theirs. I was waiting for my appointment for months and then they texted me one day and just cancelled my appointment because I did'nt reply within 48 hours. Could you imagine if hotels ran reservations that way? So terrible! I had taken time off my work months in advanced to attend this appointment. If a customer commits to an appointment, dentists should honor the appointment, unless the customer says otherwise. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. They have been my family dentist for a couple of years now. They are always friendly and take their time to explain everything.

My 6 year old son is autistic and nonverbal so finding a dentist has been a huge challenge. I paid out of pocket to come here hoping for a better experience. $79 for the dentist to barely look at his teeth. We didn't know the dentist name and he didn't ask me or my mother's name. He only read my sons name from the chart. Didn't even give him a new toothbrush or toothpaste! After quoting me $4000 to fill his cavities with sedation I asked if they offered payment plans and was told no and told about care credit. That's the same as a credit card. I can afford it, I just asked to make it a little easier to break it down into payments. The office manager came over butting in saying she thinks someone else wanted the next appointment but couldn't remember who. The receptionist told her that was for an adult and my appointment was for a child. The office manager seems snobby and rude! The receptionist took time to tell me more about the anesthesia and acknowledged that I was scared because a child died recently at another facility. I will next try Kids Care dental on Pacific Ave because my child's safety is top priority and Image Dental just seems interested in taking peoples money without taking the proper time,concern and giving adequate respect. read more
