Honestly, this dental clinic gave me mixed feelings. On the positive side, some of the younger female dentists are kind and professional, and the dental assistants are polite and respectful, which I really appreciated. However, some experiences made me uncomfortable. The Spanish-speaking staff member did not explain things clearly, and after scheduling an appointment they often called to change it, sometimes even to the very next day. This felt disorganized and inconvenient. What really concerned me was that before I even finished the treatments covered by insurance they were already pushing me to schedule major procedures that I would have to pay for myself. Without giving me enough time to consider they urged me to come back the next day for these costly treatments. This created a strong sense of pressure, almost like I was just money on the chopping board. These procedures involve significant amounts of money not covered by insurance, so I felt unprepared and overwhelmed. Not everyone has the funds readily available, and honestly, nobody likes being asked to visit a dentist twice in the same week as if time can always be rearranged so easily. From my perspective it seems like the owner of the clinic may be behind this push to generate more business. I have never experienced a situation where a dentist or any doctor schedules such large treatments for the very next day. It felt unusual and inconsiderate. Overall, while the staff are generally polite, the way treatments were rushed and pushed without proper consent felt unethical and lacking concern for the patient's needs. read more

The front desk Latina older lady was very rude she needs to get fired if she can't control her rude self. I went for the first time and my kids were fighting in the waiting area she then proceeds to say to my younger son boy you got a lot of energy, I let that go I didn't say anything but she went to the other front desk lady and started talking about mine and her conversation about oh she wants another girl that is ridiculous. She was an old lady so I didn't say anything but sitting at night she really started getting on my nerves which is why I'm writing this review. If she wants to stay a cranky old woman I'd suggest she stay at home and not come to work. Unfortunately she probably doesn't have any kids of her own because she was old as heck and she's out there judging other people and their children. Dr. Dong is my favorite and most trusted dentist. She is highly professional and cares for her patients as if we were family. I feel completely at ease knowing I'm in her hands -- I've had several implants and crowns done with her, and they are absolutely perfect. Even when she gave the anesthetic shots, it barely hurt! The front desk team, Vicky and Marlin, are as wonderful as they always are -- reliable, efficient, and welcoming. I couldn't ask for a better dental office. read more

Not professional at all. They claimed my insurance for a deep cleaning, but what I received was nowhere close to that. Great and awesome people at this dentist! Highly recommend this place they have awesome customer service. My first visit and the front desk lady Marlene was able to help me out with insurance and she helped me get seen by an endodontist very fast. I was struggling to find one that's covered by my insurance and she did everything for me and she got me an appointment the same day to be seen when I called them. I was ambivalent about going....because of some mediocre reviews and because Im using MediCal after having been laid off I was SO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by the quality and care. Really great dentist care. Kind caring staff...both receptionist who was efficient welcoming and kind...really put me at ease...as well as Dental Hygenist ...very kind as well. They seemed to have State if the Art equipment....got xrays done efficently Dr. Dong was great...explained about some work that will require follow up....i was not expecting it to be covered but Receptionist investigated and i was thrilled to hear it will be I have a follow up appt to take care of that Thanks Dr. Dong and Team. This is a place where early risers are well rewarded. With an authorized consent form, I will get copies of my dental x-rays and scheduled office pickup of those copies for my personal records for what-if emergency situations. Since I maintain my teeth very well with regular flossing after every meal & publically announcing it, my dental cleaning was less than 30 minutes. Please listen to the reviews. My first appointment here was at 10:30 and the receptionist called me the day before to come in at 9:40. I came in for a consultation and I ended up waiting until 10:50 to be seen. I'm not sure why the receptionist made me come earlier just to be seen an hour later, it was totally a waste of my time for a five minute consultation. As someone who worked at a dental office it was truly upsetting how ignorant the receptionist is of her duties.. She had tried lying to me stating my insurance isn't allowing them to send a pre-estimate for procedures during this month, and I had asked her how much it would be out of pocket she gave me a ridiculous number of $2000. I had to walk out after I asked her a certain question and she couldn't give me an answer. Please avoid this place, they might take advantage of you if you don't know anything about dental. read more

Not professional. First visit. Three different Dr told me 3 different solutions for my son's cavity. On the second visit, I called 2 times for one prescription. They gave the prescription without taking directions. After I called them, they just wrote down the take amount but still didn't write down how many day's should take so I needed to call the second time. My son has been going to this practice now for three years. The first meeting with exam, x-rays and cleaning only took 22 minutes. I was concerned; but this is my first experience with a Denti-Cal dentist (he's an adult and has special needs). I noticed the little differences. Not a good cleaning, they don't floss the teeth after. Or give tips on how your teeth are and how to take care of them better. No toothbrush or toothpaste gift bag. Not very caring. Then he had a root canal and crown the second year after he was told he had a bad tooth after a cleaning. Now the third cleaning and exam. The cleaning was 12 minutes. Minor cleaning and a little fluoride. No floss. He said the dentist told him he had decay under a cavity (his cavities aren't that old) but no real discussion so I don't know if he had to jump straight to root canal and crown. He said she showed him an x-ray. And again. Root canal and crown. Also noted that they have not completed Periodontal charting that he can remember. In addition; he is medically fragile and not once did they ask if his medical condition has changed, what his meds are... nothing. That's the first thing the hygienist asks me when I go to my dentist. I got a little complacent on this one. I won't let that happen again. Don't go here. I went to the front desk when he told me and they wanted to schedule the appointment. I'm like please explain what they will do and the cost. She said it will all be done in the same appt and his cost is over $700. I said I need to know for what. She said if I went to his insurance benefits I could see what's covered and what's not. Wow. Ok. I want to know what your costs are broken down and what work will be done. She said that the $700 something was for the better crown; that his insurance only covers the cheap one and it isn't good. And then another procedure he needs, his insurance doesn't cover. I just shook my head. He wasn't given options or costs so he and I could decide what crown he could afford. And we still don't know what the other procedure is. I'm shopping for a new dentist and he won't be going in alone anymore. The patient should be given the courtesy of a discussion when you ask questions when it comes to treatment and cost. I watched an old couple waiting for their appointment and the receptionist told them that her physician said she isn't healthy enough for the extraction so they couldn't see her. Why did they just find this out when they showed up for their appt ? The couple didn't speak English. They kept saying Spanish? And she said I don't have anyone here today that speaks Spanish. She kept repeating about the doctor but again not very kind; just to the point so she could move one like with us. She could even have used Google Translate. I almost got up and did. Not a very caring office and they don't have a through and complete process for cleaning and helping you care for your teeth. I've asked in two emails what is the over $700 for. I want a breakdown. I also sent them a screenshot of his benefits; which covers fillings, root canals and crowns. Just because someone has Denti-Cal they should still receive a proper level of care both physical and emotional. He's 30 now and I had always paid for his dental care because I was afraid of this. Shameful. Update: Zero responses to my two emails and a text requesting an explanation of the dental work and associated costs. I just called to cancel the appointment. No questions or discussion. I find them to be dismissive of questions and to be rude during any conversations. read more

I have been going to Dr. Dong for all sorts of Dental service for many years. Thereason is because she is VERY NICE and has excellent technical skills. My friends who introduced her to me told me that she graduated from Sichuan Medical University in Chengdu, China. I have heard a lot about that University. It is the best Medical University in SIchuan, and its Dental Department is THE best Dental Department of the whole country. Dr. Dong graduated from that university with honor - those ensureed that I have the warentee of the best dental treatment and I feel relaxed and have all the confidence that I am in very good hands. I got an implant from Dr. Dong this year - last Friday is the day I had last service for the implant. I did not feel any pain during the procedure. With the new tooth, I feel so nice and convenient. I am very saitsfied. After the procedure, Dr. Dong also explained to me as how to protect the newly implanted tooth, and how to take care of the whole tooth. because I have very bad teeth problems. She explained to me in detail as how to take care of my teeth. There was one thing that I never understood before in my past visits to other Dentists, but Dr. Dong explained so well that I full understood what she has explained this time. I will follow her instruction and take good care of my teeth. The front desk staff of Dr, Dong's office are all very nice too. The clinic is clean and quite. It felt so nice and cozy. I've been coming here for the past couple of years and I'm happy to say that Dr. Dong is no longer my dentist. I only came here in the first place because my mom was acquainted with Dr. Dong. I don't think she was as bad before the pandemic, but once the covid situation began she basically stopped seeing patients and some other dude does the teeth cleanings now. If you're like me and you just need your biannual teeth cleaning, you'd want the dentist to carry out your appointment assiduously since you only come twice a year. Dr. Dong's teeth cleaning appointments last no longer than 20 minutes. To be fair, I think when I was a busy high school and then later college student, I was so busy that I didn't mind that the appointments were short. But now that the pandemic has hit, their appointments are ridiculously short. My last teeth cleaning on December 4th lasted 9 minutes. I waited longer in their waiting room than in their exam chair. My teeth didn't feel as clean as cleanings I've received here before; they made some easy money off of my appointment that day. I've talked with other people about their dentists and I've learned that it's not normal for dentist appointments to be so short, so I happily switched to a dentist with high reviews and was closer to home. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I will say that if you're looking for a dentist that will get you in and out of there as quickly as possible, then this is the place! I can see why that would appeal to people in covid-era (shortening your time at the dentist would mean less of a risk of exposure to covid). But I'd rather go to a dentist that does their job properly. Also the extra star is for the front desk lady as all the other reviews refer to, she is nice and does her job nicely too. read more

My father had an appointment there to check on his tooth. He came back really disappointed from this place. Dr. Dong was really rude to him and treated him badly. My father's english is not the best, so when he was speaking, she tells him how am i going to communicate with you when you don't know how to speak english. This is by far the most unprofessional and disrespectful dentist I've seen. Also they are huge liars. They told my father that they don't do root canal, and was tryna convince him to take the tooth out. When my brother called them and asked them if they do root canal, they told him yes they do, when would you like to make an appointment. So when he confronted them about why they told my father that they don't do root canal, they said oh we do it only for specific customers. This is obviously a racist dentist office. read more

I felt like family as soon as I walked in and the staff made me feel like they already knew me and they knew what kind of pain I was in. My son has been coming here for 2-3yrs now and I decided to become a patient of theirs too. Last week I had an appointment and needed to return 2 days after for a procedure. The only reason I am rating this place this low is because of Marlene, the receptionist. First she told me my insurance would cover the procedure but if I wanted a Porcelain crown then I would have to pay out of pocket. I told her I would call her the next day on what I decided. I called the next day to tell her I'll just take what my insurance is covering because I didnt want to pay out of pocket. But she tells me they dont have the materials for the regular crown and that she's going to have to double check with the Doctor and she'll call me back. Well she NEVER called back and my appointment was the day after. So i called early morning to follow up and guess what she says, THEY DONT HAVE A DOCTOR WHO DOES CROWNS. What a joke right? I asked her which is it, you dont have the materials or theres no Doctor? Like get your stories right. She didnt even plan on calling me to let me know She was cancelling my appointment. I didnt bother arguing with her because she's just a very rude person and isnt helpful. For someone who works as a receptionist, you need training Marlene. Also, Im still waiting for the referral that youre suppose to send to my email. Overall the Doctors and Dental Assistants are professional and provides great service. I would give negative stars if I could. Went here with my child for wisdom removal. They said bone grafting was needed, which added 2k and wasn't covered by insurance. They wanted cash right then, and there were no payments, even though I had two different insurances, and we were already clients for 3 years. When we questioned it, the receptionist suggested we get a second opinion. Also, when we asked why didn't they couldn't catch it sooner. Her response was that a regular dentist won't see it. Um, hmm, who makes referrals for oral surgery to begin with. Straight lied to our faces. I said, " Let's go, We were out of there." So we did get a second opinion, and guess what, bone grafting wasn't needed. Saved 2k going to an honest practice. Stay away from this place. read more

Extremely rude, misinformed, unhelpful receptionist. She does not belong there. The assistants are nice. The doctors are nice. The Hispanic (and she told me she is on my first visit and I mention her ethnicity so as not to get her mixed up with someone else) lady at the desk is rude as it is and when I requested to speak with someone else she hung up on me. This is not the first time she gives me the wrong information and I excuse the first mistake as we all make mistakes but mistakes with an attitude are not acceptable. The proper way to handle such a situation is to request the patient to visit the clinic and meet with the dentist in this case, not throw general information in his face which does not even fully agree with what he was told over the phone. Whoever is in charge should either give her a warning or relieve her of her position. Completely unacceptable behavior. read more

Dr. Dong Rocks! I've avoided going to the dentist for years, mostly due to fear.... and I'm a big baby when it come to strangers putting things in my mouth. I was referred over by a friend who spoke highly of her, and he was right on the money! All the equipment she uses is brand spanking new, she has this high-tech camera thing that lets you watch the procedure on an overhead monitor, as it happens in real time... very cool I was there for some cleaning, a filling replacement and a crown, all very painless. Dr. Dong very patiently described what was going on each step of the way, and made me feel at ease with it all, which is no small feat because I am a such a crybaby when it comes to dentist.
