I took my niece to this place to get a haircut. Over the years, I've had A LOT of bad hair cuts to where I decided to cut my own hair. I figured someone always messes it up so if I mess it up then who cares. Most likely it will be another bad haircut that I would still have to pay for. Anyways, her and I salon hopped. I only go to certain people. I used to go to just anyone. Whoever was available to cut/highlight my hair. I didn't see anyone that I thought would be a "good fit". My niece said that a few months ago she had a consultation for a cut/highlights. I called and they were able to get her in today. When we arrived, a lady named Jessica came out and I felt like she was a "good fit". She recognized my niece because my niece got a consultation from her. Anyways, I made sure I watched Jessica like a hawk lol. I feel like I have PTSD from 98% of my haircuts. My niece didn't want ANY length cut and I made sure that wasn't going to happen. I've had that happen 2 too many times in the past. I specifically said "do not cut the ends" but in a nice way. One lady was cutting my hair one day and I saw about 3 inches of hair roll of the apron(cape?) that they put over you. I asked her where that came from and she said "your ends were dry so I cut them". I was in shock but when it really hit me was when I started driving home. Anyways, I felt so good after Jessica cut my nieces hair. It looked great!!! The layers were all blended nicely. They weren't choppy. Even though I don't live in that area anymore, I will be going to her. I just have to wait for the bad haircut that I gave myself to grow out. Later on, after we left, I realized that my niece didn't tip Jessica. I told my niece that I have to tip her so we went back. My niece paid so I didn't pay attention until it randomly dawned on me a bit later. I will go back someday lol and have her cut my hair. read more

I've been sticking to this salon since moving here about a year ago and I always make sure I go back to Kristin. This girl is AMAZING at cutting hair!!! If you're looking for someone that will actually listen to what you want (to include showing her pics of what you'd like which I've done in the past) then she's your girl! She's also great at making suggestions to make sure you look your absolute best. Love going to this place because of how sweet the girls and guys are that work there! Kristin is so smiley and a breath of fresh air compared to the dull or "full of drama" hairstylists. I've never had a disappointing hair cut or style at Image Salon! I've seen 3 different stylists there and I've loved what each of them has done for me. I usually see Nicole for my haircuts and she is awesome. I love that she really takes the time to listen to and decipher what I'm trying to tell her and apply it to my actual hair. I'm not very familiar with hair styling terms but she gets me. I recently decided to try something new with my hair and Nicole wasn't available so I was sent to Cecilia instead. I went into the salon having only a vague idea of what kind of color I wanted done to my hair and she listened to me, gave me awesome advice, and together we collaborated to make my hair so fabulous I can't stop staring at myself in the mirror. Not only did she just magically make my hair the perfect color, but when I told her I was trying to grow out my hair she actually suggested I wait a little longer to get a trim. I was very impressed that she suggested that, demonstrating that she was looking out for my best interests and not my pocketbook. Pricey but good. Aveda salons are always pricey but $45 for very simple trim is tooo much $$. My regular stylist Lindsey was great, but she left. I am now with another stylist, Haley, who is very friendly, does good color & highlights but just can't get my cut right. She's so sweet but I have to keep telling her how to cut this same hairstyle every month . It's a super simple short cut and she does try .... but every month it's the same thing .... I gotta keep telling her .... it's uneven or too long. I stay with her because she does good color & highlights. Never any problem with that. I dunno. I'm a loyal Aveda customer for over 15 years in 3 different California cities. I'll always be an Aveda customer. I just wish my former stylist was still there at Image Salon. read more

On Wednesday, November 3, 2021 I called this place asked if they could help me remove my lashes which were irritating my eyes and they were bloodshot red. When I called The owner, Jen, told me that it would be $25 to remove I told her OK and I would be on my way. When I had got there I felt the whole atmosphere changed they looked at me as if I didn't belong there. One of her employees asked me what I was doing there and I told her I came to get my lashes removed. She asked me if I had an appointment I told her no but I just called 20 minutes ago and I told one of you guys I was on my way . The manager, Jen, then butted in and said no there was never no appointment made. I told her my eyes have been irritating me was there anyway she can still help me she told me no she couldn't. after she seen me in person she no longer wanted to service me I felt that she was being racist . I then walked out and waited for my ride. I decided to walk back in the salon and ask if I can make an appointment. Jen came to the desk and said " oh now you want to make an appointment" I told her I had already called and one of your employees told me it wasn't a problem, I did not know Jen was the one on the phone . But I realize she was when I remembered when she had first Butted in . Saying no appointment was ever made. How do you know no appointment was ever made if you claim you never received a call from meI told her I didn't want any trouble I just wanted to make an appointment . She then told me we do not service people of your color . I had got upset and raised my voice at her because she was being racist she then called the police on me . I came in with a botched a-line long bob that I tried to cut myself because I have a hard time trusting anyone with my hair after several bad experiences, but I needed major help and she delivered more than I could have ever hoped for!!! I always thought this place was hit or miss depending on the stylist you get but now I think it just depends on the level of experience your stylist has and that it's definitely worth it to pay a bit more for a senior stylist. That way you can at least have a certain level of professionalism. I got a haircut and style early this year from Kirsten and it was just perfect. I just cut off a couple of inches and wanted my hair left in loose curls. But my hair can be difficult to work with, it's thick and curly. But that's why I'm going to a salon, to pay someone else to style it so I can avoid the hassle. And Kirsten handled my hair so well, that it looked great and just the way I wanted it to for the next couple of days. I was so impressed by the experience that I made an appointment the next time I wanted it styled before I went out. Kirsten wasn't available though so I got an appointment with Cecilia. I wasn't too concerned because I assumed any of them could put some loose curls in my hair easily enough. You just have to straighten it out and then curl the bottom. Cecilia was alright but she kept making comments about my hair and how thick it was and how I had so much. I know, I deal with it everyday. That's why I'm here, and that's why I'm paying you. She kept saying things though and I felt a little bit embarrassed and I couldn't see what she was doing because my chair was turned away from the mirror. So I was really relieved and happy when she showed me the mirror and was hair looked nice and styled just the way I wanted it. I paid her and even tipped her $10 because I felt like such a burden and left. As soon as I left though I noticed that my hair felt oddly heavy for being straightened. I checked the mirror in my car and moved some strands aside and realized she had only straightened and styled the very top layer of my hair and had left 70% of it untouched and frizzy. I was frustrated but didn't want to hear any more comments so I just went home and tried to fix it myself. The next time I made an appointment a couple of months later for a trim and style I got Amanda. She recommended that I try thinning my hair but didn't complain about my hair too much and was sweet enough. She didn't bother to style it all the way either though, either because it would have taken too much time or too much effort. Who knows. She blow-dried it, put some curls on the bottom and then proceeded to straighten the roots out a bit. It did not look like I had my hair professionally done at all, just like I did it myself really quickly. She was nice though and I didn't have time to make a fuss so I just paid and tipped and left. I called them recently and told them I wanted my hair cut and styled by Kirsten specifically and to give me any appointment she had available. But they told me she no longer works there and recommended that I try Hayley who is also a senior stylist. I wasn't sure if it was worth the risk but I thought I would give them one last chance. And Hayley is great, really professional and seems to know what she's doing. The curls didn't stay in my hair for more than a couple of hours which was disappointing. But she actually took the time to straighten out my hair. All of it, not just the top layer or the roots. And it's a little sad that my expectations have gotten so low but that was definitely appreciated. Even if I didn't have the curls I wanted at least it looked nice and sleek. I might keep an eye out for a new place to get my hair styled but the next time I need a haircut, I definitely think Hayley is a safe bet. read more

I received a package spa treatment as a gift which included 1 hour massage, 30-minute facial, a pedicure and manicure. The salon is located on a side street in an unlikely business park a block from the DMV and stands alone. From the exterior it appeared more like a triple wide mobile home. Lacking a distinct look both in and out. Inside the seating/waiting area faces the schedulers desk whom you cannot see because a floor to ceiling wall of product badly placed blocks any visual contact with receptionist. The decor is dated with an overkill of rag-rolling in the women's bathroom. A spa connotes, relaxation, rest and peacefulness, however the decor color and furniture placement is more akin to Dante's inferno with oranges and reds which tend to imbue stressed, energy, anxiety and anxiousness. With the odd and hazardous placement of the products rack smack in the middle of the path from hair stylist area to nail area, this adds to the stressful feeling given off by the salon. Something you'd think they'd want to avoid completely. As for the services, the massage therapist was great as she was trained in multiple types of massage techniques. The room was calming enough, though they do not have a sound system throughout the salon playing relaxing music. I think a small investment installing Sirius or some satellite radio would set a good vibe. The facial was nice as well. All the products used were Aveda products which I personally like. I would like to see the esthetician have much more latitude in other skin products that can get an even better result for skin which I have seen and used with other estheticians. Whitney the esthetician did a fine job on the facial. The pedicure & manicure were nice but very pricey. They offered water or wine which any high end salon would. To bump up the "class" a bit I would suggest offering a glass with ice water instead of the Walmart bottled water or a shop can actually have their own labels printed on their water bottles. It makes it all so much nicer and gives you the feeling you're receiving the best especially for the price charged. Again I would recommend they pipe in some soothing music to the whole salon instead of placing their own table top radio playing music that only the manicurist likes. The manicurists are by appointment only which I appreciate. However I've received 10X better pedicures from the ladies at the walk-in nail salons of the Asian influence for 25% less. The leg/foot massage was wanting and a lesson from our Asian friends is in order. Overall, the massage was the best and I would return for that alone. The facial was also very nice and would recommend every 4 weeks. But please shop around when it comes to nails. The price is terribly high and the polish selection is small & uninspiring so bring your own. They do not do designs on the nails. I've gotten some of the best pedicures elsewhere around Sacramento and Roseville and paid between $15 - $32 for much better work. I wil be staying with my own hair stylist in Sacramento because as any woman knows when you find someone who is real good and up to date with fashion & coloring and knows your hair, you follow them to the ends of the earth. read more

I would not recommend Image for waxing. I was severely and painfully bruised after a recent visit. I have been getting bikini waxes for 15 years and have never experienced anything this painful. The waxer told me "it was a little red" but would be okay. You can see from the pictures it was much worse. I couldn't wear a bathing suit without shorts for my entire vacation (which negates the point of a bikini wax in the first place). Several calls to the owners went unreturned so it is clear they are unconcerned with the quality of services provided and safety of their clients. read more

Hayley even showed me with her hand how far she would cut it... Well she went several inches overboard. My hair was down to my breasts and now I can barely put it in a pony-tail. My daughter's went there and were very happy with the massage, but the nail and foot pedicure part were no bueno that means not very good. The foot "spa"part was ridiculous my daughter said, they just seemed to rush through it like they had people waiting and were in a hurry or something, not nice.
