So I have never written a review in my LIFE, but am so bothered by my experience that I have to write about it. If you don't want to read my paragraph, just know that their customer service needs some serious improvement and I felt like they didn't care at all about what I wanted. I am $150 out for a hair color that I never asked for, and they refuse to fix it without charging me more.
I went to Imaj about a week ago for a dye job. I wanted to dye my hair 'chocolate/auburn' all over with no hair cut, no highlights, no ombre. I had pictures on my phone for what I was trying to go for. I tried to show my stylist but he kind of just blew me off and didn't look at the pictures and just said "yeah yeah chocolate/auburn I got it." So after said and done, my hair turned out fine right at the roots, but the rest of my hair was black. Seriously black. I didn't like it, but just paid and left (mind you it was $150 for all over color- kind of expensive to me). After two days, I still didn't like it and it wasn't at all what I asked for. So I called and was nervous to call back since I have never hated my hair so much to go back. I asked to speak with the manager, but the receptionist replied saying that if I wasn't happy with my hair they would love for me to come back in to fix it to the color I requested. I made another appointment for this week. I once again showed pictures on my phone for the color I was aiming for, and once again I got blown off and he didn't even look at the pictures. So it turned out too light and not chocolate/auburn at all. The stylist said to come back next week and he would add toner to make it darker. So I went to the receptionist to find out when I could come back to have the toner put in. She replied that I was $100 for the day. I was shocked, and I'm kind of a push over in public settings because I don't want to cause a scene. I paid, and then as I was putting my card back in my wallet, I finally spoke up for myself. I asked why I was told to come back in for y'all to fix it "because it's not fair for any client to leave unhappy" if I was going to get charged. My stylist who is also the manager (because I asked the receptionist if I could talk to the manager) came and told me that "it wasn't his fault that it turned out black." My mind was blown, because I never said it was his fault, but I just wanted what I asked for for $150. He was very rude, not understanding, and kind of laughing at me when I was trying to explain that I shouldn't be charged again especially since my hair color is STILL not what I asked for. I already paid $150 to receive chocolate/auburn hair that is still not what I have. Long story short, I seriously had to use a steak example for him to understand my point of view. I don't even think he understood because he refunded me the $100 and said "Okay I'll just charge you next week when you come in for the toner." I said "Don't worry I wont be back." So after two weeks and way too much time wasted, I would not recommend this salon to anyone. read more
