3.1 stars is laughable. Was it The Masters? No lol But these reviews are so far off the mark. Service: Good. Everyone was friendly from the guy who grabbed our clubs in the AM, the guy working in the pro shop checking us in, and the starter (The bunker on hole 1 is not 280 so dont listen to him on that piece ) Only complaint is we didnt see the cart girl until hole 15, but we tee'd off at 7:50 so that happens quite often at alot of courses. Pace: Great. We had to wait a few times but nothing crazy. Finished our round at 4 hours exactly. NOW, 95% of the golfers were 65+... so if youre an outsider thinking you can squeeze a quick 9 or 18 in the mid afternoon, dont go there. Course Conditions/Layout: Conditions were extremely pure, especially around the greens. Bunkers were a little sandy at the top so had to battle some fried eggs but welcome to golf. The layout was actually much more attractive than i assumed it would be. Good variance of challenges and unique carries. Since there are almost zero options in this area for public golf, I would highly recommend this for any travelers. Only can book 3 days in advance so hope for some "bad" weather to scare the oldies away for the day. read more

The worst customer service I've ever experienced, which is a shame because IMG is too nice of a facility to have such awful people working for them.. I'm writing this after a few hours to cool off, so read this with a cool head in mind.. I came to play 18, and an emergency popped up halfway thru the front 9. So I decided at the turn that I couldn't play all 18. I stopped into the pro shop to ask for a rain check, as the course is nice and I wished to continue another time soon.. instead, I was met with a pompous front desk worker that scoffed at me for requesting the rain check, claiming that my emergency wasn't an emergency to them, and that a partial refund will not be issued to me because "that's not the way things work here".. the middle aged man talked to me like I was some kind of sub-human and was a bother to him for even existing. Truly an awful person.. I would never give this place my money until that man is dealt with accordingly and no longer has a spot at this establishment. read more

This is my first time visiting this golf course and I have to say it was a truly great experience. the golf course has a huge parking lot. Once I parked and walked to the proshop the cart guy greeted me and directed me inside to check in. The gentleman behind the desk was attentive and got me checked in and thoroughly briefed me on where to go and where the chipping and putting greens were located as well as the driving range. They did let me know that they didn't want golfers with a tee time of 30 minutes longer out to use the driving range until within 30 minutes or less of their appointed tee time. Their chipping green was awesome with several different spots so many golfers could be using it at the same time with golf balls at each station, really cool setup. I didn't use the driving range since I was able to go out early and start my round. The starter was a great guy, chatted with me for probably 8 minutes, explaining how to use the GPS on the cart worked and where all 3 of the bathrooms were located and that each of them had ice and water stations. The bathrooms were all clean which is nice to see. The course is in great shape, with the recent rains bringing out the green in the grass. The tee boxes are in good shape with some of them that need some attention but that's par for the course with tee boxes normally, they all can't be perfect. This course has really great track, since it was my first time playing here it was a challenge for me since I didn't know what to expect since it was all new. I will definitely be coming back to play it again since I know have an idea of what to expect. I played 18 holes in 3 hours 28 minutes so that was pretty good time considering other course that take me longer. Played from the whites at 6104 yards. Now if I could become a better player, that would be amazing! Some pros and cons. Pros: Convenient location, easy access with plenty of parking. The staff here in the proshop are excellent, Starter was a great guy to chat with! The golf carts are in great shape and have GPS, very nice ride! The practice areas here are phenomenal, nice putting green with lots of room to make those extremely long putts. Driving range is awesome. The chipping green is good size to work on your short game with sand traps to utilize as well. There is also a beverage cart and saw it several times throughout the round so there is no reason to go thirsty during the day. Ball cleaners were available throughout the course. Cons: I really don't recall any issues with this course. read more

I'll start by saying we gave IMG every opportunity to make things right today but were basically sent on our way with nothing. Our round exceeded 5 hours because we were unknowingly sent off behind the "President's Cup." The group in front of us failed to let us through the entire round despite holes open in front of them. When we spoke to the staff while they were on the course, we were told there was nothing they could be done since the group was full of members. We were repeatedly reminded by our golf cart monitor that we were behind the pace of play. At one point, the system told us we were 54 minutes slow and were at risk of being forced to move forward. At the end, we asked the shop for a complimentary round to make up for the day and were denied. Unless you're a member and don't mind paying $120 for a slow round, you may want to go to Greenfield Plantation. Half the price, great course, outstanding service. read more

The course is ok, but highly controlled by play time. Carts turn off 30 yards away from hole. Much walking time back and forth. Then the course police come out if you are 3 minutes behind in play. I picked up ball twice and we simply quit after 9 holes. read more

Unfortunately there isn't a zero star so one it is! Horrible customer service. AJ Schneller actually drove out on the golf course and harassed me?? Where does it end. Instead of harassing me why the starter moved me up a half hour, why don't you harass the slow play. 2.75 hours for 9 holes?? What a joke! I'll never be back and I let everyone else I know and see about the horrible customer service and attempts to overcharge me! I booked online for $45 for 18 holes and they tried to say it was only for 9 holes. Harassment about bringing a cooler full of water on hot day! The course needs to reconsider letting young punks run the proshop! Steve Strausbaugh who is the head pro emailed to set up a time to discuss what happened but never called at the agreed upon time. The golf course was mediocre and extremely crowded. But the guy I dealt with in the pro shop was one of the biggest jerks I have ever encountered, and hence my extremely negative review. He bitched at me for being an hour early for my tee time and told me how lucky I am because he would allow me to practice on their putting green (supposedly, you can't do that until 30 minutes before your tee time). The driving range was closed due to damage from the hurricane. This guy's arrogant behavior would have been more appropriate for a great golf course, but this was like an over-played crappy little golf course. The course is in great shape. Started out in the fall a little rough but the green keeper turned it around. Dinning needs a little work though. Like the course so much my wife and I got the new members there. Great staff when you come in and going out. read more

Just went to one of their wine tasting pairing dinners :(((( The event was okay but not sure they know much about wine or pairing they don't even have the proper glasses for tasting .. & no trained staff Think they are a bit out of their league ... too bad was a great idea but get some help from a professional in both wine & food YIKES!!!! read more

The GM is extremely rude, condescending and unhelpful. The place needs a renovation. There are plenty of other good gyms and golf courses in the area that top this place. Their dining room is sub par and the locker rooms dated. Would not recommend this golf course or the academy. Go to Lakewood Ranch for a better experience. read more

My son and I played this course yesterday New Years day. Got off with no hassle hardly anyone on the course early in the morning. I was skeptical about playing this course due to some of the reviews I saw on line. None of which I saw during our play. The course is in excellent condition, fairways very well groomed and the Greens - the BEST I have seen in a long time. Greens are spacious not to fast but rolling very true. A bit challenging, but that is what I like. Great layout! We were made to feel welcome the moment we checked in. Staff in Pro shop was courteous and gracious for our being there. We will definitely return to play this course in the very near future. First time playing this course - glad I didn't let the bad reviews keep me away. Course if laid out well for all types of players. They were doing a lot of maintenance when I play on 6/21/17 so the greens were pretty bad. Booked on Tee Time app and played 18 for $20 which was nice because at full price with the greens in that shape I wouldn't have been happy. GPS on the carts was great also. Also, they either need to let you bring your own cooler or have something better than a clear plastic bag if they are going to not have a beverage cart. read more

I really enjoyed my golfing experience at IMG golf course. The staff was kind and courteous. When I pulled up they brought a cart over to pick up my bags with ice water already in the cart. In the pro shop they helped me quickly and told me about the course. The chipping area and driving range were in great shape. This course is in great shape and has been for the last two years. Greens are challenging but fair. The course offers a range of tees to suit each golfers ability. Despite the one review about not leaving things in a cart, in the three years that I have played the course I have never had an issue and have always found the staff to be extremely courteous and helpful. This course also has nice practice facilities including a driving range to warm up on before playing. They also have a reasonably price grill room with excellent food. read more

Many people do not realize that the IMG Golf Club, formerly El Conquistador Country Club, is open to the public. Their lunches and dinners are the best anywhere and reasonable too. We just had my daughter's wedding there. It was perfect. A beautiful setting and the food and service were excellent. read more

oh my has this course deteriorated, the fairways are in serious need of attention along with the tee boxes, there is very little grass growing on them. Bare spots abound on this tract, I know rain has been an issue but other courses in the area are struggling with the same problem and they don't seem to be in such terrible shape. Another real sign of neglect is the sand traps, they are rock hard and need grooming, loaded with foot prints and lacking in sand. I'd say the traps are like concrete. If this is an academy course and a learning center for future pro golfers, how can they allow it to be in such rough shape. Maybe a new greens keeper is what they should be seriously considering. Save your money, and if your looking for an enjoyable golf experience, look elsewhere. read more

3.8 to be exact on my rating. Great day out on the course here with the buddies. Really nice / helpful staff. Overall recommended f. or anyone who isn't incredibly picky and would like to squeeze a round in. We played at peak time on Sunday and didn't run into a ton of issues with gameplay. The course is residential with houses lining most of fairways, and tucked behind the greens. The foliage is typical for FL, with the pines , oaks and moss with a few lakes and creeks here and there. The fairways could use some rain, and the greens were bumpy from a recent irrigation. Obviously golf courses are subject to condition when you play and honestly this place was fun, challenging and had some really long par 5's. Not extremely prestigous, nor a tip top shape place but that is just because if you travel around a bit you will find ridiculously manicured courses. It's a tough category to earn a 5 in. read more

She treated us like family and made us feel like our event was just as important to them as it was to us. Jeff Parsons, the manager of IMG Golf Club was extremely accommodating to our desires and helped us to achieve our visions within our budget. The entire Golf club staff helped to set up the day of our wedding and was available to shuttle our guests to and from the ceremony site.
