Words can't fully describe the despair I felt leaving that salon. They didn't listen to my requests--instead, they told me what I should want. When I said no and explained what I actually wanted, the stylist, Gary, eventually agreed but proceeded to do what *he* wanted anyway. Here's what happened: 1. Neglect: I was left alone with bleach in my hair for 1.5 hours, and Gary didn't check the foils even once during that time. 2. Unapproved haircut: I asked for a 2-inch trim, but he cut off 6 inches without asking. I was trying to grow my hair out, and now it's all gone. 3. Uneven haircut:The cut is uneven all around. 4. Uneven color: My hair has blotches of platinum, yellow, and my natural color where he didn't bleach at all. 5. Ignored requests: He ignored everything I asked for. He was juggling three clients at once, leaving each of us alone for 30+ minutes. Everyone left with yellow or uneven hair but was forced to pay full price. 6. Stylist consultations:I consulted with three different salons after my visit to Mirage. Every stylist was baffled by Gary's work. They explained that any professional should be able to lift virgin hair evenly, but he didn't. 7. Forced payment & pressure:I was forced to pay $245.66 for a disaster. Gary was incredibly mean and pressured me to say I liked it. 8. Unkind treatment: I begged not to have to pay. I've never encountered such unprofessional and unkind behavior in a salon. The relationship between a stylist and client is sacred. We trust you to with our hair and believe you want the best for us. He didn't care at all. I was so saddened by his behavior and my hair. I cried all night after leaving. ): 9. Owner's response:When I reached out to the owner, she dismissed me, essentially saying, "tough luck." I ended up spending $500 at another salon to fix the damage. I can't even bring myself to share photos--it's too humiliating. While my cut there wasn't perfect, I did at least get a boring version of what I requested -- a style cut short and flat against my head on the left side, gradually lengthening in the back like a short rounded cap that hugged my head and tapered to the nape of the neck, and left long on the right side of my head but shaped to encourage the resulting deep wavy locks to hang languidly over and shade that side of my face. Like, drama. The stylist followed my instructions literally, but she failed artistically to create the look, or mood, I wanted. At least she did a decent job rather than ruin my hair, as too many clients in reviews of Winslow had complained. How hard is it to find a stylist who actually listens to what clients say.

The stylist had completely forgot I booked a haircut until halfway through foils , so she did a quick dry cut after drying my hair before styling. I was there for about 5 hours and I left with a light shade of blonde in the back of my hair and a darker Caramel color in the front . When I got home I noticed I had some bleach bleeds in the back (she did not show me the back once) I showed photo and said I like ashy blonde and they toned me with 8G an 9NW - which means my hair was very gold/Carmel aka a tad orange. I don't mean to drag anyone in this review, but I want to be honest. There is nothing worse than spending a ton of money then go home and fix your hair, luckily in another life I worked as a hairdresser and am able to fix my hair , but not everyone can.
