This is absolutely one of my favorite chinese places to have a fun time out. The food tastes authentic (although- full discretion- I have not been to China), the gentleman who has served us multiple times is sweet and seems honest. The restaurant looks nice and clean and they serve halal meat. Literally could not ask for more. They have great specials during lunch. Who doesn't love a good pho? On Google, it said the place opened at 11. Should've checked the hours on Yelp, but we got here a little before noon as it was opening. The thing that makes pho great is the broth. If made correctly, it takes a long time to get that deep, rich flavor. So yummy! I ordered the Imperial pho, which has meatballs, which I love. The homemade chilli oil/ crisp was probably one of my favorites in Houston. It was flavorful and spicy goodness and paired perfectly with everything. The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because the spring roll and egg rolls were not the best. However, the main course and service were amazing. It was a nice clean restaurant, music was surprisingly good and again Andy our server made us feel welcomed and never let us finish our drink without coming with a refill. Went here at 8:30 since this is one of the few places in the area that doesn't close at night and unfortunately, I am disappointed. Each bowl of small pho is $13, but that's only if you pay in cash. This is a bit above the average price of pho. I just feel that for the price, the small was way too small. The side of bean sprouts was also really small. This small was the kids portion at any other pho place. The broth just tasted like the flavor mix that you buy at h-mart. I can't taste the anise or anything that makes the broth savory. I was expecting a really hot bowl of pho but it came out a bit above room temperature. The meat came pre cooked and not raw like the other places where you can tell it's hot and fresh because the heat cooks it. I wouldn't say that it's *bad*, I just feel like this is the equivalent of a ramen restaurant selling pre packaged ramen with a few toppings, cooled and 4x the price of the ramen package. I'd say skip this one. There is better in the area. The only pro is that they close later. I was excited to try this place during the cold polar vortex but I was left equally as cold inside as I was outside. read more
