Folks, My car broke down on the I-5 in Burbank and I was able to stop by this shop. The owner Andre, wow! He looked busy and said he wouldn't be able to help me until the next day. I was stranded 30+ miles from home. Then he asked where my car was at, one block over. We walked to it and after a few minutes pointed out the problem. Long story short, I had two options, install a after mkt more expensive, inferior part or, the better dealership OEM part. The latter required me to wait a day. Hard to beat quality and decided on the OEM part. Due to the rain and snow, I picked up my car today. Running great again. THE REPAIR COST WAS LESS THAN I EXPECTED. Andre, thank you brother. Blessed to have ended up by your shop. From now on I'll drive the distance when my car needs servicing. Folks, go to Andre's shop. You won't be disappointed. Salt of the earth, humble and honest. WOW! Andre the owner truly goes above and beyond!!!! This is my first BMW and didn't realize how much fun the upkeep would be. And can I just say ANDRE has made this a breeze! He is so incredibly kind, genuine and truly wants me to understand what's going on with my car. Fixed any problem so darn fast it was a dream - hard to believe he's doing all of the work! So speedy! It is so clear this gentleman values return customers and wants people to feel comfortable in their experience here. In a business world where entitlement is fed in American portions (super size me), I think many have lost the art of mutual care and respect that my many interactions with small businesses (and its owners) have taught me. Andre has been in business for 30+ years. He's old school no doubt. He ain't got a Keurig machine with seats and magazines for you. But he does know what he's doing and he's probably a lot cheaper than any other BMW shop that charges you to finance their expensive rent, customer service reps and nicely painted walls. Respect him and he will respect you. He's running a business by himself. Plan for the possible delays and downsides of going to a small business if you want to reap its benefits. Interact with him as a person not a customer service rep or w.e. Believe me, I love customer service and professional handling of things. I love clean and comfortable lounges. I love feeling like I can say whatever I want and it be okay. However, sometimes I just want my car fixed with no butt kissing attached at the lowest possible price. Meaning, sometimes (actually, most times) I just want my car fixed. Period. If I want coffee I'll go to a cafe. If I want to be pampered with attention and pretty lounges, I'll go to a hotel. Own a BMW? Need it fixed? Want nothing but your car fixed at the best price possible? Come here. Show the gentleman respect and patience. He will get it done. And yes he knows what he's doing. My boyfriend bought a car from Andre a couple of months ago. He seemed very nice and professional first - he told us that he made sure that everything was fixed on the car, that he had just put in new oil, and that he would do the SMOG check for us so that we wouldn't have to take it somewhere. We didn't even think about getting a pre-purchase inspection because he's a mechanic and we believed him when he said that he made sure everything was good. Within a few hours of having the car, the engine light came on so we took it to a different mechanic closer to our home the next day. The mechanic walked out and immediately said that we need to return the car - the oil was filthy like it hadn't been changed in years, that the catalytic converter was inefficient and he has no clue how this car passed SMOG without it working, that the tires were completely bald and it was extremely dangerous to drive a car with tires like that, and a couple of other issues. He suggested that we attempt to return the car, but my boyfriend still had hope that Andre would help fix issues so he called him. Andre had a shop close to him change out the tires and then "fixed" the rest of the car. When I asked for a document showing what he fixed, he was very rude and said "No, because then he would have to charge us for his work" which is a lame excuse and led me to believe that he didn't actually fix anything. I was right because the engine light came on again less than a week later. Andre wasn't available for a few more days to "fix" it so my boyfriend took it to another mechanic. And now a few more weeks later, a new issue came up and the car started stalling and shaking. So he took it back to Andre again and he said it's fixed and car seems to be running ok, but I'm not so sure I believe it will stick. He also charged him $500 for this most recent "fix." The brakes also started squeaking, so I'm not sure if the breaks had been repaired before the car was sold to us either. We also found out that the car is worth less than half of what he sold it to us for.. but I guess that was our fault for trusting him and not looking up prices on similar vehicles. If you're thinking about buying a car from Andre, please get another mechanic to do a pre-purchase inspection on the car before you buy it. But honestly, I would suggest going elsewhere to purchase a vehicle. I hate writing a bad review, but I would be sad if what happened to my boyfriend happens to even more people. Andre, I read your other reviews and saw that we aren't the only ones that stuff like this has happened to. I hope you find it in your heart to stop doing this to people. A few years ago, I took my car to him (Andre), because at first he seemed like he was good at what he does. Then as time went by the true Andre came out. The type of mechanic we could label as a nightmare. The work he performed on my car was horrible, left my car with noises and a big bill, he would not even attempt to make the job right. I was so upset that he handed me a car with bad noises and driving issues (stalling), that I decided to contact the authorities. After doing so I was suggested the sue him! But as work needed to be done another cars he is trying to sell me another car I realize he's just a hustler when I called him back a month later he called me every name of the book every cuss word he is extremely disrespectful as a woman to me I won't do business with him he's a liar and he is untrustworthy and I have fact's ! I bought a car from andre and made a deal with him that he'd change everything that needed changing on the car including oil, air filter and that he'd stop all the leaks that were happening from the car. I picked up the car after everything was "done" and two weeks later the car started leaking and the slave cylinder blew out. I took the car to Andre because he said hed change it and within another two weeks of him "fixing it" the master cylinder blew out. Id finally had enough and took the car to my usual mechanic, here i found out that andre had not changed the oil for what seemed like years, the air filter was completely black and blocked because it was from 2005, and he had replaced the slave and master cylinders with used parts (which is why they blew out). This man is a con artist do not waste your time, energy and money dealing with this business. In response to his comment, Andre inspected the transmission himself and we agreed upon a price for the transmission swap and anything else needed to get the car in perfect working condition. Any mechanic that would take 2000 for a transmission swap and leave in all the obviously worn 20 + year old parts that need to be changed with regular maintenance does not deserve my business or anyone elses. Whats your excuse for telling me you changed the oil and filter and not doing it? Whats your excuse for the 10 year old air filter? If your too cheap and lazy to replace a $10 part then dont agree to doing an entire transmission swap theres plenty of actually competent mechanics that will do a better job for the same price. You can lie all you want on the yelp but the consequences of your actions will find you, ive met numerous other people who've had the same type of experiences with you and you better believe we tell everyone we meet to avoid you and your shop . read more

ANDRE IS A PIECE OF WORK!!! I drove to him based on his WORD that the car was in "excellent condition" - his words. I should've looked at yelp before I showed up. I drove 2 1/2 hours from San Diego, after being guaranteed the car was "clean" and only had a couple dents on it. When I arrived, the car was parked on the street. As my brother and I walked up to it, we began to see the car in its real light. Bondo on several corners, hail damage to the hood and roof, and we didn't even bother looking on the inside or under the hood. We were looking for a 95 BMW 525i wagon in specific, and his was one of the few listed on Craigslist. What a waist of gas, time, and energy (including writing this). Not only that, but he got very defensive after I pointed everything out and told him I was disappointed that he lied about the condition. If he has a car your interested in, at very least bring a mechanic with you! I however, would never recommend him to ANY of my friends... read more

The worst mechanic and repair person on this earth. Do not take your car to this person. Andre is the worst mechanic that the earth has seen. He is a thief, a liar and a lousy person to allow a young person to be stranded with a broken vehicle. After JUST HAVING REPAIRED IT. He has ignored major issues and not repaced specific parts which I asked him to check repeatedly and with other mechanics recommendations as well. I have a 1973 BMW 2002 that I've been restoring and Andre sold me a complete set of chrome package to replace the chrome that a totally different mechanic lost or stole or sold. Andre has a ton of great BMW parts at amazing prices, so he sold me the set of chrome for 2/3 the price I quoted 2 other places. I had the car shipped out from the east coast and Andre has continued to help me restore it. He knows Bimmers inside and out and has all the parts I would ever need for my old gem. Great, honest, knowledgable mechanic. Andre has been my go-to mechanic for the last 5 years. My family has bought multiple cars from him and would recommend him to anyone in the market for a used BMW. He doesn't oversell you on unnecessary work to make a profit, is very fair with pricing, and has always been available day-of to fix any urgent problems. All i can say is I have been going here for like 20 years off and on ... first with my volvo and now with my bmw 330i and never had a problem. Way better than pacific bmw. I like the dealer in santa monica as well. None of these guys are perfect. I guess that's why people buy new cars. read more

I have a 2002 BMW X5 4.4L with 115,000 miles on it. I love the car, but as is typical with older BMWs, things go wrong with it pretty frequently so I probably visit Imports Unlimited every other month. I have been working with Andre the owner for about a year now and could not be happier. If I need emergency work, he makes time for me that day. If it's a routine repair or service he always finds time the next day. His prices are much more reasonable than the dealer and he's honest and knows what he's doing. On many occasions I've asked him about having work done and he tells me when it's okay to delay the work, or maybe not even necessary to do it all. Andre has also given me some good referrals for other work (the LEDs on my stereo for example, or front end work on my 1984 Cadillac.) Great guy and great shop - very happy! read more

I bought a BMW 325i from Andre here and we made a deal that he would change anything that needed changing for the price we negotiated. This was the worst deal I possibly could have made. Soon after purchasing the car, it started leaking oil. I asked him what it was and he said it would go away over time. It slowly got worse. I took the car to my mechanic and he said the gasket was blown. I took it to Andre and he fixed the gasket. I took the car to my mechanic that I have been going to for years and he said that the oil was old and full of gunk and that the oil filter had not been changed. In the end this guy took my trusting attitude to his advantage and did not change anything we agreed on and pretty much ripped me off. I do not recommend this liar as a mechanic. read more

i have a 1989 325 ic that i've been driving since 1996...i kept resurrecting the car because i just didn't want to give it up...until the day it was just costing way too much (fix, break; fix, break; fix, break)...ok. bought another car, but didn't want to sell my bmw...so left it in the drive way. I was out in the valley and a bodyshop around the corner pointed me to andre....by this time, the car was covered in dust, filled with spiders, and didn't run...at all. ok....so, cut to a year or so later...and i needed to buy a cheap car....well, why buy a cheap car when i have a car in the driveway that'll cost as much to fix. i called andre. he remembered me! on the phone! from a year earlier. i had the car towed out to him and we agreed that if the engine was ok, and it would cost about 3k, i'd fix it. ok, so by the time i was done, it was 4k, but only because yours truly had it sitting in the driveway for a year and it needed all new everything -- except the engine :). anyway, he's a dream. i'm sorry for the others who had bad experiences here. but after my share of well meaning (or not so well meaning) mechanics...i'm just so happy to be driving my car again. i even just called telling him a light came on, and he remembered that we'd JUST fixed the brakes, so it must be a sensor...yeah. he is totally worth those trips to the valley...now if only the gas mileage was better ;), but that's out of Andre's control! read more
