I recently purchased a 2013 Sienna L for $17,900 from Imports Unlimited. The car had been in a flood, voiding the warranty, but (as Mike explained) Imports Unlimited only sells flood cars that are in excellent condition where the engine does not get flooded. If there are any flood related issues with the car (apparently rare, but sometimes the power seating will have problems if the flood reaches that level) Imports Unlimited will repair for the life of the car. Mike was great at explaining all of the pros and cons of purchasing a flood car, and Amy was very helpful in explaining all of the paperwork necessary. One small snag - because the car was in a flood, I wasn't able to get a title for it at the DMV closest to my home... I had to drive to a different DMV. So, basically these cars are 30% cheaper than what you'd normally buy. Of course, if you later sell the car you'll also need to discount by around 30%. read more

in the last 15 years, I've bought a Lexus and and a Toyo Camry. I got both cars at around 18,000 and have driven them to over 175,000. Love the cars and the value. Sure people are scared away by the notion of buying a car with a salvage title. These guys have spotted cars which had little to no damage but were declared salvage. I have had no issues. read more

Car was in decent shape, dealership itself is nice enough, but I put down 50% cash on a vehicle and the finance company verified that the check was on the way and would be there within two days. I figured they would let me take the car, but they refused. I then offered to put the balance on my credit card and then they could reimburse me when the check came, but they again refused. I really needed a vehicle and they just wouldn't be flexible. Maybe they are more accommodating if you buy one of their expensive vehicles... read more

Do not buy from them. They don't provide the car fax for a reason. I emailed them but they gave a generic Insurance answer. I just purchased the carfax for one of their Porsche and the report shows a total loss with a warning that the odometer is inaccurate. Car fax shows a previous owner did a 40k mile maintenance yet they show 18k miles. Luckily I purchased the car fax beforehand hand saved myself the misery of being cheated on. As you have seen from the other comments, this dealer specializes in salvaged cars. They do have a habit of not mentioning it on any websites, but are upfront about it. I am not discounting them on that fact. What did surprise me is that the sales reps were very rude. Carrying on other conversations while on the phone with me, not even muting it as the yelled at one another (not angrily, just loud). Additionally, the sales rep couldn't listen to me as a customer for more than 10 minutes without becoming too aggressive, and the began complaining of me "waisting his time" when I tried to explain what else I have found in the market and got very defensive. I understand being hard on a number and respect it, but he never heard what my request was (which was not price related). They claim to have a lot of repeat customers, but coming from a family that has bought from one small business dealer for over 20 years and totaling 12 cars, I can tell you customer service and interaction is what will truly carry repeat customers. Another issue I had with the dealer: Car information was inaccurate, claiming packages were present when they weren't Also, please be well informed on the "market value" approach they sell you on. They are very quick to point out the MSRP of a car. Under "true market value" is just that, the true price of THAT car as it is in AT THAT TIME. Running price quotes on KBB, Clearbook, and Edmonds had prices lower than their offer. Only do business with this firm if you feel that saving 2k but having a voided warranty is worth it. I heard that I could go to Imports Unlimited and ask the owner, Mike, to keep an eye out for a particular make and model car for me at the auctions. I wanted a Volvo with adaptive cruise control. He told me that he had just sold one of those and too bad I hadn't contacted him sooner. 2 months later, he'd found a couple of Volvos but neither of them had the adaptive cruise control. After the car he had already sold was inspected and he was about to deliver it to the new owner, Mike took it upon himself to contact that gentlemen to ask him how important the adaptive cruise control feature was to him. The buyer told him that he would never use that feature. Mike then asked him if he would be willing to take one of the other Volvos, which happened to be the same color and model without that particular feature, if Mike discounted the price for him. The buyer agreed and Mike sold me the car I wanted and the other buyer was happy to save some money that he was not expecting to! I love my car! read more

The long- Every staff member that I worked with as well as staff that I just chatted with are polite people that treated me respectfully and answered my questions with clear and concise rock solid information. No one that I encountered was wishy-washy or displayed a demeanor that left me thinking anything other than I was being told the truth. I've found Imports Unlimited to be a model business and appreciated the clarity that I experienced, because when I'm shopping for a car I want to think about the cars. I don't want my mind cluttered up with questioning if I'm being told the truth or if there's anything going on that's working against me. As well, I believe the staff at Imports Unlimited like their jobs and are happy to work there. For any nay sayers reading this and thinking that my testimonial isn't genuine because I'm just happy about my new car, or that I don't get out much, then OK, I'll say something bad- The decor. It's awful. That ugly blue linoleum tile is a big turn off. The cars in the showroom don't look good sitting on it. The look of the showroom isn't up to the level of this business. The seating. The seats look awful. One looked so bad I refused to sit on it. Back to the importance of my experience, my salesman, Art Parker. Art treated me well from the first hand shake. I tend to think I can test a salesperson because just about anytime that I'm spending money I ask a lot of questions, and especially in a car purchase. Yet no matter how many questions I asked Art always answered them and never got heated up. There were a couple of question I'd had that a salesperson wouldn't know, and in these cases Art took the bother to get me answers immediately. Nothing was a bother for him, not my interjecting during his speaking or even my requests for a longer test drive or even a second test drive. The guy was just great and very knowledgeable. It was truly my pleasure working with him. He even picked me up at my house because I didn't have a ride to the delivery of my new car. Some of my fellow Yelpers complain that Imports Unlimited sells salvage vehicles w/o mentioning on their website. Here a quote taken directly from their website: "As a used car dealership, we do not buy or sell collision vehicles; we specialize in buying and selling vehicles paid off in insurance claims due to water related incidents or recovered theft with little to no damage. Our vehicles are the opposite extreme of what most consumers have seen in the media. We buy vehicles that are in extremely above average running and driving condition in order for us to provide the best quality for our customers, as well to keep our reputation as a worldwide company." Seems to me they provide full disclosure. That being said, I have bought multiple used cars from Mike-two Saabs, 1 Mercedes, a Camry hybrid, a Honda CRV and a Tundra. I've never had a problem with any of my purchases. Mike sells high end vehicles that are steeply discounted. He thoroughly inspects each vehicle prior to inspection and provides full disclosure. My children all purchase their motor vehicles from him as well w/o ever having any problems. Do your homework. The vehicles sell themselves. BTW, I've only had the occasion to utilize the service department once. Work was completed as requested on time and done right the first time. 5 stars all the way. read more

My brother, nephew and niece all purchased cars from Imports since 2014 with no issues with any of their cars. So I decided to purchase a Infiniti from Imports. I purchased my car in March 2017 and I love it. Right away I had the oil change at Infiniti in Wallingford, they recommend that I change the brake pads asap. I left the dealer went back to Imports told them about the pads and they changed them with no issues no charge. I find them very open about the business they have and the types of salvage cars they sell. Its is a great option if you keep your cars to the end of life due to the value of salvage titles. read more

I purchased a car a few months ago this dealership. The owner and his brother (who takes care of the service side) have been INCREDIBLE to work with.... I had a few small warranty related issues (Mercedes problems, NOTHING that could have been avoided or was not typical. It was the first model year of the w212 (2010+) E550. The dealership took care of the issues. Were great at communicating with me. I really feel they went above and beyond. Frankly, I've had better luck with them than my local dealerships with previous Range Rover, and BMW's I've purchased locally. I had the vehicle shipped to me sight unseen and there was nothing undisclosed or any surprise. Mike did a walk around on the phone with me. My purchase was 5 months ago. No surprises. Warning!! I purchased a car from them and less than 2 weeks later the battery was completely dead. I was instructed to bring the car in and was offered the only other option to go to a local auto zone. I did not feel safe driving the car after having to get it jumped through my road side assistance. Nothing wrong with auto zone but they are a retail shop not mechanics. Dave from imports Unlimited communicated with them to charge my battery and sent me on my way only to have the same problem the next day. I decided to bring the car to my own local trusted mechanic who replaced the battery. Imports unlimited essentially did nothing to right this wrong and then to add insult to injury gave me $62 for a $149 service bill to replace the battery. Now if that's not bad enough the maintenance light came on. Since I didn't get any help from them the first time and wasn't able to take a 3rd day off of work to bring the car back to them for this debacle I changed the oil only to later find out imports Unlimited neglected to reset the maintenance light and the oil was fine. There are plenty of car dealers. Why ever go there? They sold me a car with a faulty battery and refused to provide good customer service. read more

I called them on the phone and while it is true they sell salvaged autos, this was the very first thing they told me over the phone. Very upfront about the whole process. I did not buy the car, but I believe their frankness deserves a responce to a one star review. On their website almost every car is at least 20% below market price most more than.
