I had an ok experience here when looking to trade in my car. There was a good deal posted on their page online but it was just click bait. When I went in they said it was an error. The deals they offered were not the best deals you can find so we ended up purchasing elsewhere that was more competitive. I did find the experience with the sales team ok in general. Buyers beware! This family owned business is as crooked as the day is long. As someone who's lived in Wallingford for 50 years I've always known never to go to this dealer. They are only still in business because those with bad credit need them. Unfortunately an elderly friend of mine with not so great credit went there without me knowing. She purchased a used car from them and when she got home she went to put something in the trunk and found mouse droppings. Her son then lifted up the spare tire and found a mouse nest. It was found they ate the wires and caused 4K in damage. This dealer said it must have happened after she brought car home and they are not taking the car back nor will they do repairs for free. They ran my credit 13 times and told my down payment, but also said he would find the same vehicle class but a cheaper model for me so I could decrease my down payment. Hey Ken, This is charnelle. I came in to talk to you a few days ago and we had a great conversation. Thank you for that. I just want to inform you that I have CC'd Shelly Moore from Greenwood Credit Union in on this email because I am constantly referred back to the Dealer when I ask information about the value of my car. I am having a huge issue with the car. I looked up the cars value on Kelly Blue Book, and it has reported that the car has frame damage so it's worth close to nothing. I paid for a printed detailed car report from Experian Auto Check and the report showed that the car was reported on 05/16/2018 with severe Structural Damage. I spoke with my lender, Greenwood Credit Union, and I was provided a car facts report for the 2016 Chevy Malibu. This report stated the same facts as the Experian AutoCheck Report. I then went to CarMax, I got an appraisal done for the car. Jennifer from CarMax gave me an appraisal offer of $9000 and stated that the car has severe structural damage, so the car would not be able to be sold on the lot. It would only be able to be sold to the warehouse. Jennifer also sent me a copy of the report. These reports also indicate that there were AuctionBrand issues due to the structural damage. Structural damage can cause a vehicle to be very unsafe to drive. Anything can happen to this car at anytime. I have an autistic child who rides in this car with me everyday to school. I am also employed with two companies that specialize in interaction with Special Needs children whom may need transportation per necessity. During the selling process, I was never told about any structural damage. It also wasn't marked off in my contract because it was something that was never disclosed to me. I asked the salesman (Mike Perry) if there was any damage done to the car. He informed me that the car had a previous owner and that the car was in perfect shape. I did not feel comfortable without a warranty so I went ahead and purchased one. I have also included the contract below that shows this information. Although the car was sold as is, there are certain laws in place (consumer laws) that force Dealers to disclose certain information to their consumer or it is considered fraud. Frame/Structural damage decreases the value of the car Dramatically! The car was sold to me for $22000. According to car fax and other dealers and Kelly Blue book, In June of 2022, this 2016 Chevy Malibu with Structural Damage reported was NOT worth 22,000. This car has a SALVAGED TITLE and was totaled in a previous accident! I want my $9100 deposit back!!!!! read more

I wish I could give them negative star, when I bought my car from here( barbarino Nissan), they told me it will be free oil change they give me 2 or 3 oil change ,after that one oil change I went to different dealer which was more convenient for me and now I came back again to the Barbarino Nissan and they told me why I went to the different dealer so I lose my free oil chains for life . After speaking to the service writer I forgot that did not tell her the drain plug needed to be replaced and I went back in to tell her but she was with another customer soon told the other one. If only there were ZERO ratings! Do not buy a car here. They are all nice during the sales process, but the Nissan brand is not reliable. I had a nightmare with my Nissan Sentra and neither Brittany Barberino cared NOR did the main office of Nissan care. I had my first transmission last 61,000 miles and they replaced due to a class action lawsuit. Second transmission only lasted 22,000 miles and they BOTH thought that was okay and too bad for me. DON'T buy here. You will be sorry! I had to get rid of my car with only 83,000 miles! Toyota says their transmissions are good for 200,000 miles! That's more like it. This is how this place works....They get you in a car at what appears to be a "low price", but where they really get you is on the total price which includes the financing costs. They make their money over the duration of your purchase from the crazy interest rates and other upsells like extended Warrantees and tack ons, and not just from the up front car price itself. The car is just the bait, you get bent over with the financing if you don't know how to use a calculator. They take advantage of minorities and people who are either naive , don't understand English , or are just plain stupid. They also have typical high pressure sales tactics and will make promises that they know they will break just to get you in the door and pressure you into a garbage car you don't really want. Never never use them, I bought a new Rogue in July, it has rusted brake bolts and corrision on the lines and they do not want to know anything, water got into the rear tail light after the car was washed. Service manager never returned my calls nor did one of the owners, this car had 12 miles on it when I bought it, the car had pollen all over it had to bring it back to be detailed. They took my $$ and my Toyota Camry with 32,000 miles and sold it in 3 hrs. Nissan does not want to know anything either, I am sick, what a huge mistake I made. I had no intention of spending money and literally was my first day looking for a car expecting to make a purchase in a few months. Let me start off with I was HIGHLY recommend to come here to get a car by several people BUT it was for a specific sales person name Fred . So I believe that's where I went wrong . I put in a inquiry on a Wednesday about a car I saw online I was contacted a few hours later to come in to start the process just to see if I was approved . When I got there I waited 20 minutes before the person named " Gino" that I had an appointment with came to the floor . Mind you I'm super patient so this didn't bother me at first . He ran my credit and told me I needed a co-signer and if I had one to just contact him via text and we can get the process started ! So I did ! later that evening I filled out the applicAtion for me and my co-signer online and was told I'd get a call back in the morning . I didn't hear anything so I called later on that day and asked if I was approved he said yes come down and so I came down that day . I get there he brings me to my desk says he'll be right back and makes me wait a good 35 minutes before returning only to tell me he needed more info . Fine . I asked what info and I set an appointment for that Saturday to come down with my co signer . Before I left on Thursday I specially asked if we come down how many days will it be before I'd be able to get a car ( he told me with my co signers credit id get a car from them) he said that Saturday I'll be leaving with a car . Great right ?! So we go in that Saturday he brings us to the desk and again says he'll be right back we're sitting there for another 30 minutes and I notice he's working with another customer . I wouldn't have minded but I set the appointment and i had already been in twice prior . So as we're waiting & about ten minutes before he comes back we get a notification that our credit has been run .... again . That was twice already he ran our credit . He comes back and says oh well the banks must be closed so I won't know anything until Monday ...and I need more info ..... I was just beyond done at this point . But since they've already run my credit this many times I figured let's just see ...... we give him every thing he needs & he tells me he'll call first thing in the morning on Monday .. guess what I got no call back & I noticed I now have 4 HARD hits to my credit because that's how many times he ran it ... I called Monday and never got a call back Tuesday I call and leave a message again and again he never returned the call so I call to speak to the manager on Tuesday the girl at the desk says he's not there & ask why I said I wanted to switch sales people she asked who I was working with then sends me to his line which is not what i wanted . But I speak to him and he says I never gave him the info I told him we did and to check his phone . He looked and has it and said oh well I give this to my boss and call you back in 20 but how can you give it to your boss if your boss isn't there ? & guess what no call back . It's Thursday and they ran my already bad credit down even more and I have nothing to show for it . I was told great things about this place and I should've just gone to the person I was recommend to but I thought maybe all of the sales reps are just as good and I was highly mistaken . I do not recommend going to this place well atleast this sales person because he honestly has no interest in making a sale. Every time I had gone in he was either just walking around or coming back from getting food which is why I had to wait before I even went to his desk just to wait even more . I had a decent solid work history but my credit did need some polishing. However not only did Barberino give me a chance but I was given excellent service as if I had A1 credit! If I could do zero stars I would. My wife went to Barberino on Saturday, they gave her the car she wanted a Murano. It was dark so she was not able to see every detail of the car. The next morning she discovered that the front end of the car had the paint completely chipped off. Then after doing the math we discovered that this was not a good deal. The financing was not completed yet. Today we bring the car back, my wife contacted Chris before the dealership opened and said pleas do not process the paperwork, I am returning this car. Chris the salesperson kept trying to pressure my wife into getting a car. She said no and he said we are keeping your down payment, that's our policy. Now my wife didn't get the car until after 6 on Saturday so the paperwork for financing was not done and no where did it say we will keep the down payment. I started off by calling, making sure that I wouldn't be wasting my time going there, guy on the phone says we have a program $199 down with proof of income, that they could help me with having terrible credit, I get a cosigner because the guys telling me it won't work with my credit, thats fine kinda figured that, but after running the cosigner he says OK the car has to be serviced before you take it, so I'll put a sold sign on it and it should be ready Saturday, well that came and went and I contacted multiple times and no answer, so if it wasn't going to work out why not say anything, don't just leave someone hanging, very unprofessional. If I could do -5 stars I would. Worst experience I have ever had in my entire life. First - I contacted Blair Sterling via Facebook Messenger, he was rude and kept trying to pressure me into going there at an inconvenient time and made me very uncomfortable so I decided to try out a different sales associate Second- I called the store told them I'm interested in the 2016 Scion Tc, I got connected with Freddie "Bald Head Fred" Melendez . He told me the deal is 0-200 dollars down and a job. (I make $80,000 a year so I know I qualify for the deal but my credit is barely 600 , they said credit doesn't matter) he told me to come in that Saturday at 9 am that I would drive home with the car , he was very nice on the phone . I got out at 2 am that morning and had to go in at 12 pm that day so 9 am was interfering with my sleep schedule but I thought it was worth it for the car. When I arrived he was very rude to me I told him I was only there for one car and he told me " you drive a Versa your not allowed to be picky" a Versa is a Nissan so I'm not understanding why Nissan would talk poorly about their own product but back to the point. He then continued to say other disrespectful comments then told me I needed $2000 down to get the car so basically he wasted my time. Prior to me coming in I sent him information to start the process so I could be in and out to make it to work on time , and he told me $200 down . $200-2000 is a big difference I would've saved up before coming in if I knew that information . He then told me If I had a co-signer we could do a smaller down payment . I left and filled out my moms information online for a co-signer. Third - A week later Fred had called me and told me with my mom I was approved we had a conversation via text messages If I can upload the screenshot I will, he told me we have a new approval , I said so what's up with the Scion, he said come down with mom , I said how much for a down payment, he said don't worry about that we will start at $0. So today I was dumb enough to come in and he was even more disrespectful then the first time, he was running around and trying not to tell me what's really going on with the Scion I asked to speak with a manager instead of dealing with the run-around bs , a sales manager by the name of Alex Ketchum came over to speak with me and he was just as rude when they were together they disrespected my mother, my boyfriend and myself. I informed them that I went on Cargurus.com and had 20 other dealerships with the same car that I could go to so I wanted to know the price . Alex the sales manager said to me "why does the price matter " I'm not sure why the price would not matter , Freddie then told me with my credit I won't get accepted anywhere else and then began to start racial profiling my boyfriend . Alex sent Fred to go get the price of the car , and while Fred was away Alex was still very rude to me and I asked him " why are you guys so rude , you really should work on your customer service " he then kicked me out of the dealership and started insulting us on the way out. Fred then began to join in with the insults. VERY Unprofessional . 45 minutes after we left, both my mother and I got our credit ran two more times fraudulently just to make our scores go down ( my mom had asked Fred while we were in there why they ran her credit twice and to please not run it again because hard inquiries take points off) We will be taking legal action. I financed a vehicle 3 years ago. It was a Saturn vue 2008. I didn't know Saturn vehicles are made any more. The sales associate Randy was very nice and worked with me for a few hours. He didn't tell me that Saturn went out of business. I didn't know until it was to late. The cost of the car with finance fees was to much. Now I went a week ago to trade it in. I will owe about 8000 dollars on it. I was told that I could use it as a trade in. Well they let me leave with a 2019 Nissan Altima for the weekend. Had to go back that Monday to sigh papers was told that day they couldn't take the Saturn because it wasn't worth what I still owe on it. Now I am stuck with it. Worst. Horrible. Hate this place. I bought a brand new car in 2015 and regretted my choice ever since. They lied on paperwork. When I go in for service they tell me my battery is dead... everytime. My free oil changes for life is for 1 time. You have to do what they say for it to be free... oddly enough its always the most expensive "reccomend mantance". When I bought the car there were rips in the seats and sunflower seeds all over. The only would fix 1 rip after agreeing to the 3 and no one cleaned the sunflower seeds. I would give zero stars if possible. Our one and only experience here was not great. In fact, it was downright insulting. Look. I get that its a busy location, and I get that we waltzed in after 7 PM and what was probably a long day for your employees. Yet I thought you guys were in the business of *selling* cars. Same goes for the other guy at the desk who rolled his eyes and sighed when we dared to ask for booklets about two of your vehicles. Instead, we were told with no lack of chagrin and massive attitude that "he's getting your stuff," with a nod in the other guy's direction. As if we were dismissed and supposed to follow after said employee. When I gave back a cool "Yeah, I saw that," I got yet more attitude in the form of "Who's helping you?" When I said "Gosh, in the 20 minutes we've been here so far, well, no one! We've been helping ourselves!" I got no response except a stare and more silent attitude. These guys are smarmy dirtbags. The salesman did that sleazy move where he left my wife and I in his little cubicle while he excused himself to go see the manager. (The manager was that guy from the commercials). After he left we noticed he left the phone off the hook! To be fair, I'm not 100% sure, but I think he and the managers where trying to listen to my wife and I discuss the car. Also, they wouldn't even tell me the price of the car! they just kept asking how much I wanted to spend... Stay away if you can. One other observation: the back of the showroom has 5 or 6 cubicles for the sales people to sit and talk with customers. Not one of them had any sort of personal belongings. For the 2nd time in a year, I've called Barberino Nissan because something weird is going on with my dash indicator lights. I assume it's because of the changing temps and cold mornings as that is the only thing that's changed. Anyway, I called last week, and for the second time, someone at Barberino's service department told me me to come down in the afternoon, they'd give me a loaner, and try to replicate it in the morning. My car is under warranty and this shouldn't be happening. I told them I could do it Monday, and they said it would be no problem. So, for the second time in a year, I did that, and was told there were no loaners, despite me calling last week, because they, "...can't know a customer is actually going to show up." Well, I did, and I came when I was told to. When I told the man this, his response was "I didn't tell you that." Seriously? WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I filled in the paper survey and submitted online. Then I have been getting phone calls from them every single day and asked to come in. Then I eventually did and WOW, HUGE MISTAKE. We were treated completed like SH$t. I mean hello?? We are the customers. We went in and were told to wait. During the meantime we witnessed two staff members casually flirting and on top of one another in one of open door office and they looked at us as if they don't care. 15 min in finally comes the salesperson full of attitude. *Review is for service dept. TERRIBLE customer service. My boyfriend and I walked into the service department and not one of the THREE workers there looked up from their computers'. (I should mention- the place was completely devoid of customers, it was just us.) After standing there awkwardly for a couple minutes, one woman finally addressed us just to say "someone will be with you shortly" and then left. The woman closest to us was more interested in the plate of pasta she was carrying around, than actually attempting to help us. In fact she seemed annoyed that we were interrupting her apparent lunch hour. Pasta Lady finally asks if I have an app't (thank God I didn't or I'd really be irritated) to which I responded "no because the guy I talked to yesterday, told me to just walk in." She then goes on to inform me about long waits without an appt... Finally she types in some info and decides she "can't do recalls" and that "Ron (maybe Roy or Ed or something) can help me down there". So we look at "Ron", who at this point has been ignoring us for the past 5 minutes from 3 feet away, who continues to ignore us. We stand there shuffling awkwardly until he finally acknowledges us to come to his station and takes down my info. Literally all he tells us is "you're all set", basically dismissing us without even looking up. So I drop my keys on the desk and get out of there as fast as possible, seeing as how the past 20 mins were painstaking. I figure that someone is going to call me when the work is done. 3 hrs goes by and I'm waiting by the phone for a call because I know they close at 530. At this point I assume that the work got delayed and I won't be able to pick it up till the next day, so I stop waiting by the phone. Well turns out "Ron" calls me at 545 just to say "uh... We're closed now. I ASSUME you'll be needing your car tonight, so we left the keys on your front seat." Very blunt, rude message. Ummm... is that typical for a dealership to leave a car unlocked with the keys on the seat? What if someone stole my car, or things out of it. Why didn't anyone call to say the work was done? It all seemed so sketchy and completely unprofessional. Total lack of communication, and someone clearly hates his job. The whole scene was perplexing. I began looking for new cars due to not being satisfied with my 2013 Maxima. I starting talking to several dealers within the area, including Barberino Nissan. Sales rep, Chris Horton reached out to me quickly (and by my preferred method of contact) and began working with me to help me get into a new vehicle that I actually liked, not a "consolation prize" that was being presented to me at other dealers. This was no easy feat, since I needed to roll a significant amount of negative equity into my new vehicle. Chris was not judgemental of my situation or pushy as I was exploring my options and immediately began to work to get me the best deal I would qualify for. He surpassed my expectations in terms of clear, effective communication, and simply treating me, the costumer, as not just a sale he needed, but as a 31 year old female (previously taken advantage of at other local dealerships) in a bad situation trying to get into a vehicle she loved. Management also went to bat for me to help secure a deal that was fair and affordable, and that no other dealerships could match (yes- I did my research). Don't waste your time elsewhere! I felt like a friend and not a quota and will be referring my family and friends to Chris due to his dedication, empathy and down to earth nature. Scam Artists. I called today to arrange returning of my leased Nissan. The rep over the phone told me I had to come down today before 5pm. My call was transferred to the Sales Dept and I was told all calls get transferred to sales first, as opposed to the Finance Dept. When I get there, a salesman, Gino, runs my credit and proceeds to try to hard sell me a car. I told him I wasn't interested. He proceeded to yell loudly at me in the lot because I didn't want to buy a car now. He claimed I was wasting his time. I had my brother waiting for me in the parking lot for over 60 minutes while this con man refused to accept my car back. He overheard the entire confrontation. The manager came out and they agreed to take back their damn car. F@$king con man. STAY AWAY!!! read more

O stars. Simply put, they lie. Johnny Mack and his arrogant crew pay no attention to anyone but themselves. Their finance team will play number games with you until they convince even the most qualified buyer that they have to pay the highest interest rate. The place is a worse joke than their stupid commercials. Our dealer actually made us run across busy Route 5 to see a car at their other lot. Ironically, I actually ended up buying a pre-owned Nissan across the street at Toyota of Wallingford. I strongly recommend staying away from Barbarino of Nissan. read more

I don't understand how this place even has the qualifications to be open yet alone be a certified Nissan dealer. Lord help whoever is still naive enough to walk into a dealership that has been shaming the name of the Car industry for decades. read more
