Impressive Basements did a great job in finishing our basement. I strongly recommend Impressive Basements for the following reasons: 1) Great and accurate Designs during Quotation. Alex did a great job there. He gave us multiple options and helped us reduce costs. 2) The store in Canton helped us to choose our preferred color and design for the wall & floors 3) No change in costs. What was agreed and signed stayed constant 4) No change in schedule. What was agreed and signed stayed as is 5) Very professional builders. From Anthony to Electrician / Plumbers, the Flooring installers were very professional and courteous (I can't stress that enough). It was wonderful working with them. They were fast and did a great job! 6) At the end there were some issues with the recess lights. The Electrician came the next day and fixed them. Very friendly and profession there as well to fix any issue s that may arise I am so glad we choose Impressive Basements. Happy to see highest levels of professionalism around. I called Impressive Basements 2/26/2019 to set up an in home estimate. I was transferred to a gentleman that serviced "my area". I told him that I did not know the exact measurements of my basement but I told him the measurement of my home as a whole. He quoted me 30,000 w/o a bathroom and 44,000 with a full bathroom. Mind you, i live in Detroit in a very small home. Next, he tells me to go on to their website to get approved for financing and THEN someone will come out to give me an estimate. That sounds shady!! Needless to say, "my area" isn't worth servicing without a pre-approval. I am really disappointed because Impressive Basements do a great job on their projects. read more

From the first time I met Alex in the showroom I knew this was going to be a good fit. Our basement looks so great! We had the ceiling and flooring done. Tony was awesome about taking care to get the ceiling done properly and at the maximum height possible. Steve and Pat put down the skim coat of cement last week, all but obliterating the crazy cracks. They returned today with Phil and I can't think of a team we have had here that worked so well together and did such a great job in finishing the floor. We absolutely love it!!!!! Dennis, our installer, was meticulous. He redesigned the job that the salesman had simplified into an unattractive oblong box. We called it the salesman back to have another heating duct added, received a ridiculous excuse that all heating systems were balanced, therefore, it was not possible. It turns out it was possible, the owner Doug had no problem authorizing the new duct! Once you pay your deposit, I recommend contacting only the owner. Our salesman experience was akin to buying a used car! Everyone, except our sales person, was first class! We paid a premium price and received premium work! read more

They created a bedroom with two closets (one cedar), installed a full kitchen and created a full bathroom (with linen closet & built in cabinet). I can't say enough good things about this company. Many of the contractors working for this company have worked for them for over 20 years and the commitment to excellence is a refreshing experience. The owner is hands on and checks on the progress which is also an unusually good benefit. No nonsense in trying to get by with shoddy work. If I could give them 10 stars out of 5 I would readily do so. The products they use are a bit more expensive but prevent the time and dust and mess of dry wall. It's also mold resistant which is great for damp basements. read more

I agree with the previous reviewer on the sales staff. We ended up not using this company based on that alone. I was in the middle of a divorce when I called this company, and I had all my project details laid out to a tee. I knew exactly what I wanted, and I had done enough research to know what else the competition offers and at which price points. However, I was asked over and over to "have your husband review this and get back to me" or "what's your husband's email address so he can review my ideas?". I do not offend easily, but this was very offensive to me. It's not 1957, guys, and chances are that you're going to have more and more women customers as the years progress who *gasp!* know what they want and what they're talking about. Learn some respect and ditch the chauvinism. You lost a big project. read more

This company must only be out for the suckers who want to pay an unreasonable amount to finish your basement. They quoted me (over the phone) a crazy amount. When I told them to remove their "extra insulation" the quote dropped in half. (What?). I asked them to come to my home and secure accurate measurements and discuss the job in detail so that the quote was 100% accurate. They stopped returning my phone calls and emails. They must not have wanted my business since they couldn't sucker me into paying a crazy amount for their "finishing system". I am assuming they prefer over the phone quotes so that once they start the job they can charge you even more than what they quoted. Be sure to collect a lot of bids for your job like I did before deciding on THIS company! read more
