Delicious coffee spot next to all the hotels. Opens pretty early and the drinks and pastries are very good. I came in the morning and grabbed a black Americano. Great flavors served extremely hot. The malassadas that we got were very good as well. Great spot for some caffeine!

The condo we rented was literally steps away from this coffeehouse, but the reviews we read in advance demonstrated that this would not simply be a stop of convenience every morning. The coffee here is high quality and complex. If you are a true coffee aficionado, I think you will love this place. It has a small interior with beautiful patio seating in the back. Friendly staff will answer questions. Signs on the counter will tell you everything you want to know about the brew they are serving that day, which is something that we appreciate. They have specialty drinks and some food items. You can pre-order through an app if you wish, which is a good idea on busy mornings, though I did not find some of their special concoctions in there. If you want to order one of those, just check out the small board to the right of the ordering counter. They change out the brewed coffee types (Nicaraguan, Colombian, Sumatran, etc.) each day, so check out the signage on the counter to see what they're doing that day. If you don't care so much about that, you can order based on light roast or medium roast through the app. My wife likes the brewed coffee, and I usually get some form of cold brew. They offer regular syrups or local syrups if you want to pay a little extra. The place is strictly vegan, so no half-and-half here. Use your own at your condo or go with one of their vegan creamers. Same thing with eggs in their food items; they will use a plant-based substitute. You get the idea. Definitely check them out, whether you are vegan or not.

This coffee is sooo good! Smooth, rich, and perfectly made -- easily one of the best cups I've had in a while. I also have to shout out the vegan lox bagel -- absolutely delicious! I'm not vegetarian, but this one is definitely a standout. Great spot all around -- cozy vibe, friendly staff, and fantastic food and coffee.

This was our go-to for coffee and brekkies during our vacation in Kauai...we aren't usually big breakfast eaters and can get by on good coffee and a little some-some. This place was perfect for that. Everyone working there is warm, welcoming and down to earth, and they helped us to make selections about what to eat and even their fave add-ins to their coffee drinks. That they have vegan delights was great for us as we are dairy free. Their outside dining area has limited seating but you can sit out there and enjoy birds and an occasional baby lizard. Recommend to anyone in need of coffee and a smile...you'll leave with a smile of your own!

We found this place because we stayed at the Aston Islander. It was such a little gem. Parking - Free, right out front. Don't park for too long though if you're not residing at Aston. This is the best coffee I've ever had in my life. This is a bold statement. The layers of flavor in just a simple lavender latte with mushroom protein was incredible. Service was upbeat and fast. They'll recommended small things like adding hot honey to my bagel (TAKE THEM UP ON IT). The bagels were yummy, very fresh. I'm not a breakfast person but I enjoyed it. The outdoor dining area was really nice. They have a box full of games and little trinkets to play with to pass some time. I recommend going in the morning for a peaceful time

Don't waste your time hitting up the main stream coffee shops please. This place is worth the drive if you are near the resorts. First off, they were closing but invited us back to get some drinks which few other businesses would do. It's Christmas Eve so I don't blame them for closing early but we were very appreciative to be invited back to grab some drinks! The service was friendly and knowledgeable of their coffees. Forewarning, there is no whole milk just alternative milk options which is great for those who do not like normal milk. I got a dirty chai with vanilla and the espresso flavor was delicious. A latte with macadamia nut was also ordered and it was my favorite flavor combination so far. The coffee definitely has a quality roast. I wish we could've gotten there earlier to try the food but maybe next time! Overall my favorite shop on the island so far. There is seating outside in the back which is nice but the inside is small so keep that in mind as well.

Another fantastic coffee stop. I ordered the KOKOHOLEMOKA with 42 Espresso, coconut milk, and Holy Cacao -- absolutely delicious. They even had a cute little clothing rack I couldn't resist. The staff was very helpful. A great hidden gem.

Amazing plant based breakfast sandwiches

Imua Coffee Roasters is an absolute gem and a must stop if you're vegan or just love great food and coffee. Everything here is 100% vegan, which instantly made it one of our favorite places on the island. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing, the donuts are so good you'll want more than one, and the coffee options are excellent across the board. Everything tastes thoughtful, fresh, and made with real care. What really sets this place apart though is the owner. He is incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely accommodating, creating such a warm and friendly vibe that makes you want to linger and come back again and again. Amazing food, great coffee, and an all vegan menu done right. Places like this are special, and Imua is absolutely one of them.

"Imua" in Hawaiian means "moving forward" and our recent stop here sure nourished and fueled our bodies/appetites in a way that definitely propelled us energetically forward to our adventures that we had lined up for the day! First of all, this is an all plant-based cafe which in its own right deserves some extra stars! Located adjacent to the Aston Islander on the Beach Resort, this awesome cafe is a bit of a hidden gem unless you happen to be staying at that Aston resort. We were greeted warmly by Heia, and instantly started our morning with smiles and eager anticipation of what we hoped would be a great breakfast. Here's what we got: *Banana bread (vegan) *Overnight soaked oats with fresh mango & coconut (made with coconut yogurt) *Oat latte *Blended oat/soy latte Not a crumb nor a drop were left behind, as we fully enjoyed everything while sitting at one of the nice outdoor tables in the front (they also have a great lanai with more tables in the back surrounded by lush, tropical foliage). FYI, Imua Coffee Roasters also won best coffeehouse in Kapa'a in 2023 & 2024, and all their food & produce are local and organic! Mahalo & IMUA!

Not my favorite. I was drawn to try this place because I saw on their website they have all organic coffee and it is a plant based establishment also. I am no longer vegan, but I was for almost 4 years so I am not stranger to milk alternatives. My husband ordered the island chill and I ordered the kokoholemoka. We were disappointed with both. We wish we just ordered black coffee instead. We got the coconut mochi ball though and that was pretty good. Would not come back

This is a great little coffee shop tucked away aside the coconut marketplace. You can really taste the flavor in their beans and their pastries are fresh every morning, giving your tastebuds a good way to wake up! The line might be a little long at times. But much better than your traditional Starbucks coffee, worth the wait. read more

Cute little coffee shop and also probably the only one on the island who uses organic beans AND roasts them themselves. Great people who work here and a dang good espresso. Also if you get a chance, you must find their coffee chocolate bar collaboration they did with Wild Kauai Chocolate because it's phenomenal! read more

My husband and I have had coffee here almost everyday because it is so good! They specially roast coffee for cold brew so it is less acidic. You can also get cold brew shaken with milk, which they call cold brew plus and that is pretty tasty too. My favorite is the caramel and vanilla latte though-it tastes like a caramel macchiato. read more

I really enjoyed the positive vibe from the baristas while pouring my cup of joe. We just got a plain coffee but I did see the barista making a hot chocolate with a design and it looked beautiful. This is right next door to condos, walking distance from the beach. read more

We usually stay within a couple blocks of Imua Coffee when on island. This is our go to coffee place. They roast their own beans and have great coffee drinks along with a few food options to go with. The coffee they give in the rooms is always lacking so this place is a staple. The staff is always wecoming. read more

I had house Coffee and my friend had their Mocha Coffee (was good), and all different pastries too.. friendly staff,with WIFI, and nice atmosphere ,comfortable seating outside right next to the beach. I think my last review was three years or more ago. I have a love/hate relationship with yelp and other user review sites. It's more like a need/hate relationship. I appreciate some of the thoughtful feedback given regarding the actual product and experience but really cannot stand the whiny "there was no parking! one star!" feedback. *eye roll*. Anyway, this place is faaaantastic! Seriously! I am extremely particular about my cappuccino and they make it beautifully each time. The milk is never scorched and neither is the shot. I get real bummed when a place just burns the crap out of the milk for the purpose of creating as much foam as possible. This place doesn't. They do a great job. I will definitely be returning to this little corner of Kapa'a again in my future travels. read more

The coffee was good and free from our hotel...Lol. I tried the Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips too. It was so soft and moist. Not dry at all. The people working must have been the owners. For the early morning, they were very pleasant and ready for the day...caue5i totally wasn't. The coffee helped with my long drive to Waimea. The bagels looked Ono too, wished I tried them. read more

Actually a 5+! We walked over for our morning latte each day of our trip and were always met with a smile and never a line. We tried all the croissants, couldn't decide on a favorite. Pumpkin, lilikoi, pear and fig and ham and cheese. All delicious! We will return and after COVID, we know it'll be busy and we will gladly stand in line!!! read more

Small place to get coffee and pastries but the coffee is quite good. The pastries are also good. The people are nice that work there, but in all fairness we had free tickets that came with our hotel for one cup of coffee a day, that aside it's Starbucks quality in my opinion fresh ground coffee. read more

Delicious locally roasted espresso and yummy chocolate chip banana bread. We visit quite regularly and always stay in Kapaa. Having missed the last couple years, this place snuck in under our radar. So happy to find it is a short distance from the condo we frequent. The staff are very warm and friendly and unassuming, and the location and venue are quiet. Highly recommend Imua! read more

Tried the cold brew. One of the best we've tried in Kauai! We were able to walk there from our hale. They roast the coffee in the store, so it smelled yummy. There is a back patio where we could sit and relax while enjoying the cold brew. Fabulous start to the day! read more

I stayed here recently at a nearby vacay condo complex and this coffee place basically allowed me to get going most mornings. Really good coffee, friendly laid back staff, nice covered patio out back where you could check your emails and surf the net. Coming from CA, I did wish the place was open on weekends and a bit later. But I'm glad to have experienced it at all! read more

We stayed at the Aston Islander next door so I was able to try a few of their brewed coffees - Peruvian, Costa Rican and Papua New Guinea...all delicious. But the bonus was the delicious baked goods - I tried the strawberry lilikoi muffin, mixed berry muffin and the cinnamon roll - yummmmmm! Strawberry lilikoi was my fave, but honestly they were all good. read more

The cold brew with coconut milk is awesome and the mocha was also good. It is difficult to find if you're not staying at the islander as yep tells you it's in the coconut marketplace. IT IS NOT. It's opposite Trees Lounge in the same building and that building is not attached to the coconut marketplace. It is behind the marketplace in the parking lot of the islander by the bay. I hope that helps... we walked around a little bit even using the notes left by fellow yelpers. read more

Excellent coffee. Flavorful pour overs, and they do this muesli style granola treat they call Surfer's Fuel, and it's amazing. The entire staff is super friendly, owner especially. We had a great trip to Kauai -made even better by tasty morning coffee and friendly faces :) Imua rocks read more

IMUA Coffee Roasters is an importer and small-batch roaster of fine coffees. Each batch is closely monitored and roasted to achieve the best possible flavors in each varietal. Our coffees are available at our full espresso bar, our website, many businesses on island or Papayas grocery store. In addition to our carefully selected coffees, which are organically grown and fair trade, including 100% organic and single origin Kona coffee, we offer a variety of drinks and plant-based food options. All are fresh and local ingredients. We are a 100% plant-based coffee shop. This means there is no dairy. If you do not want to try your coffee without dairy, you can still enjoy our wonderfully roasted beans. We service 12 local coffee trucks/coffee businesses/bakeries on island that brew our beans or even purchase a bag at the health grocery store Papayas. We do free deliveries of our beans on island. Meet the Business Owner: Matt K.

Welcome to our fully vegan coffee shop on Kauai! My wife and I own and operate the coffee shop and roastery alongside our amazing staff. She manages our house-favorite banana bread, wholesale accounts, and accounting, while I roast the coffee and jump in for barista shifts with our wonderful team. We serve organic vegan baked goods, bagels, house-made organic chai, matcha, hot chocolate, and, of course, a variety of coffee options—including cold brew, pour-over, lattes, cappuccinos, and espressos. I currently roast all our beans on-site, but as our roastery continues to grow, that may change! For now, you’re welcome to stop by and watch me roast on Sundays and Mondays. In addition to coffee, we offer our popular avocado and monkey toast for a heartier option. We also deliver to several other coffee shops across the island, from the north shore to the south shore. Free WiFi is available for all our customers.

We ordered ahead online because we saw how long the line can get. Just a heads up, you pick up all online orders at the back of the store. I got a strawberry milk matcha and my mom got an iced Maui mocha. I preferred the mocha compared to the matcha. The matcha wasn't very sweet or perhaps unsweetened, so I had to add some simple syrup and honey from the cart outside. I wasn't super impressed with the strawberry flavor either. I think the strawberry puree was also unsweetened.

I chose Kauai Juice company and had my very first juice which to this day is one of my favorites. Since July, I've branched out to not only the juices, and juice shots, but also the tinctures. They've got a truly spectacular selection of supplements as well as salads, chocolate and honey. I also enjoy their merch. I bought a Kauai Juice racer back tank that I practically lived in the entire summer long! All of the juice baristas are super friendly and knowledgeable. I'm a regular at Kauai Juice and I've also branched out from the OG spot in Kapaa to the larger location in Kilauea. Highly recommend this place! They're awesome

I said okay and returned to my party. When we checked the app, there were only 3 party's ahead of us. 2 parties of 2 and a party of 6. I returned to the desk and spoke with Robert once again trying to get an understanding on why it would be an "hour plus plus" wait time when only 3 parties were ahead of us. Robert didn't like that I called him out on his lie. Robert proceeded to call me out of my name and say "I will not serve a b*tch, and you can get out of my restaurant". Our family was extremely upset regarding this encounter, and one went to speak with him again. Robert than called me a liar. He must not like the truth being called out on him. Because he didn't indeed call me that haha. Anywho, this manager is completely unacceptable and should be in NO position to be in any hospitality job if he can not handle people or any situations. A managers job is to handle escalations and he does not have the capacity to be able to do so. He is extremely rude to everyone we encounter and we were not the only family who was treated this way. I would 10000% NOT recommend until a new manager is in position here. I will also be filing a corporate complaint with the owners the Luana Hospitality Group as this experience was unacceptable and unprofessional.

This is the best coffee shop we experienced in all of Kauai, and I felt so amazed that it was the closest one to our room, AND that we found it on our very first morning in Hawaii. They offer a completely vegan menu, and I didn't even have to pay extra for oat milk! Baked goods are amazing, swag very cute and stylish. Service was great, thanks to the staff for working so hard! They do get busy for just two people on hand to prepare all the specialty drink and delicious chia pudding bowl orders and such, so be patient and you will be rewarded with some of the best coffee on the Island. read more

Yay! Wailua now has an AWESOME easy place to get a quick great quality coffee or latte! Not to mention they have a nice selection of gluten free and/or vegan muffins, baked for them by Small Town Coffee. Super stoked! Such a cool location, next to Islander on the beach and Trees Lounge. They have a nice quiet out door shaded sitting area with free wifi and lots of chairs & tables. OMG, I LOVE this organic, specially roasted coffee! I have now ordered this coffee over 9 months (even though I live in Canada) because it is the best. I am grateful the owners take the time to tell me the best way to take care of the coffee (whether to put in the freezer, grind in batches, etc) so that I can maximize the bean. I met the roaster at taste of Hawaii last weekend. He was nice and helpful. They were roasting beans on a 1lbs sample roaster outside. That was pretty cool. Good coffee, good service. A little tough to find their shop though. They have a sick diedrich roaster in their shop. read more
