This place was mentioned on quite a few Kauai itineraries and I understand why. Its nice establishment across the street from the Ching Young Village. They closed at 1230 so we got there around 11. Unfortunately, by that time most of the baked goods were gone. There was one blueberry muffin left and it tasted great! I also ordered a tropical smoothie and it tasted so fresh and refreahing! My friends ordered avocado toast; it looked great and was told it was just as good. There had to be at least two avocados a plate. Great place and a must visit when in Kauai! read more

We went here several times for breakfast during our stay in North Kauai, and it quickly became one of our favorite morning spots. Over a few visits, we tried the avocado toast, apple ricotta toast, peanut butter banana toast, breakfast burritos, mocha, latte, and tropical smoothie -- everything was consistently good. My personal favorites: the tropical smoothie (so fresh and vibrant), the breakfast burrito (the salsa on the side is surprisingly amazing), and the apple ricotta toast -- sweet, rich, and definitely one to share. And of course, a mocha to end the meal. Highly recommend starting your day here if you're in Hanalei. Just a heads up -- lines can get long when placing your order at the counter. While dining at Bar Acuda, we were told the Hanalei Bread Company is an awesome place for breakfast. We headed there today and it didn't disappoint. Any restaurant with 10-20 people in line constantly is a good indicator its food is worth the wait. I really appreciate a restaurant that tells you your order is made from scratch, so don't expect it to come out fast. One of the most beautiful areas on the island and one of the best breakfasts I had!!! Firstly this place can get BUSY with not a lot of seating so be prepared. It's fast paced so you'll definitely end up finding somewhere if you wait. Just look at the food pics holy moly. The club sandwich was clubbbbbbing that was the fattest sandwich I've ever seen in my life and totally worth it. I got the fancy toast which was delicious. We visited Hanalei Bread Company while on vacation in Kauai. The food was good, but the customer service was disappointing from start to finish. The staff came across as short, unfriendly, and annoyed that customers were even there. This is already an expensive place to eat, and it's a walk-up counter service restaurant where customers order and handle much of the process themselves. After paying, I chose not to leave a tip, and the employee sarcastically said, "Thanks for the tip." That comment was rude, unnecessary, and incredibly unprofessional. Tipping should be earned through good service and appreciated when given -- not expected or used to shame customers. Tourists and locals spending money there are the reason businesses like this stay open, and a little appreciation and basic courtesy would go a long way. Good food, but the attitude of the staff completely changed the experience and makes it hard to recommend. read more

Was looking for a place that serve açaí bowls and this is where Yelp took us. It's in the cute town of Hanalei. Be ready for a slight wait as this place is always busy but moves steadily. My wife and I visited during our honeymoon and came here for breakfast, and everything we ordered was fantastic. We also each got iced lattes, which were excellent and paired perfectly with breakfast. To top it all off, we ordered their Macadamia Nut Banana Bread, and wow, if you are a fan of banana bread, this place needs to be on your must visit list. It was easily one of the highlights of the meal. The only thing worth noting is that this place is very popular, which means it can get quite busy, especially in the morning. At around 9 am, we must've just missed the morning rush. I was the only one in line at first. I ordered an oat milk latte, espresso muffin and a bag of beans for the boss. My drink was ready in no time & I found a seat facing Ching Lung. Within minutes a table opened up & grabbed that one. My hot oat milk latte was pretty good, it tasted more milk than coffee. The muffin was moist but mediocre at best-- Hubby enjoyed it though. I was hoping it would taste more coffee-like. Staff were friendly & responsive. What more could you ask for? Sit & sip, let the chickens grub around your feet, watch people, I am on vacation. We parked by the old school a few doors down. October is ideal if you want to relax & be low key. For the life of me I don't understand the line at this place. I waited out of curiousity, but it took 40 mins to even get to the counter. Then another 12 to get my order. That's 52 mins just to get a coffee that... was just ok. I wanted to be on island time and not care, and didn't except.. I also had a headache so actually wanted quick caffeine, and that was not happening. So it's fine I guess. But there are also better coffees, that take way less time to be in a cup in your hand.
