A Delicious Thank You to Teachers! What an incredibly thoughtful way to give back to the community! One of our teachers at school entered a drawing for a free catered lunch from Locale Farm to Table, and we were so lucky to win! The drawing was the owner Heather's way of giving back and showing her appreciation for teachers. She was especially touched by our teacher's story, which made the win feel even more meaningful. Many of us who work at the school already dine at Locale and absolutely love the food, so we knew we were in for a treat. Heather brought some of their most popular dishes, including a hot honey goat cheese spread with Pyrenees bread, roasted butternut squash and Brussels sprouts, a fresh garden salad, and a chocolate and strawberry pastry for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious! What really stood out, though, was how much thought Heather put into making sure everyone could enjoy the meal. She heard that we had some vegetarians among us and went above and beyond by preparing additional dishes without bacon so everyone had plenty to eat. That extra touch meant so much and really showed how genuinely caring and thoughtful she is. Having this incredible meal right before the first day of school was such a special treat. Teachers and school staff work incredibly hard, and feeling appreciated in such a generous way was truly wonderful. My mom mentioned how good this place was. She's been here a few times with her coworkers. First off, ambience was nice, nice air conditioning because it was 103°F outside Bathroom was clean, only complaint was they were out of soap, so i substituted using hand sanitizer. Service was excellent, Dakota was such a nice waiter. Food came out fairly quick and they didn't mind that we moved tables. Food tasted AMAZING. I got the Cowboy BBQ salad with fries. The food here is delicious! We went for dinner on a Friday evening and we were able to choose our table right away. Our group ordered the salmon dinner, chicken and waffles and the chicken marsala. All 3 plates were delicious! I appreciate that the servings are just right. I didn't feel full, definitely satisfied. We finally tried this place after driving past it for years. Lol. Cute downtown spot with an artsy, modern vibe. When we walked in we were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we wanted. It was pretty empty but got busier as lunch went on. About 8 minutes after we sat down, Karina (our waitress) came over. She was very friendly and brought us some rosemary lemon waters and a complimentary appetizer of butter-toasted sourdough with an onion garlic spread. I enjoyed it a lot and it was definitely a nice little touch. For the first 10 minutes though we were wondering where the menus were until we realized you have to scan the QR code on the little card that sits on the table to look at the menu! Ha, It would've been nice to have that mentioned when we sat down, but once we figured it out, it was easy. The place is pretty chill. Good verity of music playing. Atmosphere felt lively, lots of chatter as background noise, large windows that let in a lot of natural sun light so it feels open and inviting. They also brought out a free sample of their strawberry fresca, which was super fresh and refreshing. Not too sour nor sweet. We both ordered the Western burger with onion rings and sweet potato fries. Also had to get me one of those fresca's and my hubby got a coke. 25 minutes later our food arrived, and man did it look phenomenal! The burgers are stacked high, patties were thick, juicy and cheesy. The buns all glistening, and it was super saucy, just beautiful and well presented. Lol. Fries and onion rings come in cute little baskets and pots too. The beef tasted so clean and buttery! Completely melt-in-your-mouth awesomeness. Very gourmet and high quality. The bacon was perfectly cooked with very little fat and had such a rich, clean flavor and was just really done well. Quality top notch for sure. The onion rings were unlike any I've had before. They weren't super crispy, more soft and tender, but the flavor was so good it didn't even matter. They were huge and the batter was savory and seasoned well. The texture kind of reminded me of a funnel cake, soft with a little crisp.. very different from your typical onion ring. Their chipotle aioli ranch paired perfectly with them too. (My left over onion rings reheated to crispy perfection in the air fryer the next day!) The sweet potato fries were also really good and had sauce drizzled over the top. My husband mentioned it would've been nice to have some extra sauce on the side for dipping, though. Paid about 68 in total with tip. Not bad. Started off with a complimentary 3 cheese with hot honey and ciabatta app. Impossible to leave hungry after all of that. To drink I got the watermelon Fresca, which was not my favorite - too sweet for my taste. But the place is super cute and uses local ingredients. I love sandwiches. Some may say I am a sandwich connoisseur and I was highly impressed with the freshness and flavor profile of our selections today. I had the turkey habanero. I was intrigued since outside of Thanksgiving, I rarely see a turkey with cream cheese available. This is usually an addition I make. It was a perfect pairing with their Stone Fruit Relish; I even grabbed a jar to go. If I came back again I'd get the tri-tip sandwich. I got to try a piece and was tempted to make a to-go order. The only thing stopping me was my waist line. Another in our party ordered the pastrami and she cleaned her plate. Service was great. All the ingredients here are top tier and it really shows, the dishes are designed smartly and you can tell effort goes into the offerings. No espresso, sadly. But yes they have cold brew and french press coffee. Doesn't appear to be freshly ground that morning and consideration into procurement of a better quality coffee would yield a better outcome. I know, I know, it's from 502, but weird coffee people know what's up. The service is slow, seriously, don't bother trying to have a place to be when choosing this as your dining establishment. Knowing this, we made no plans, and took our time. But the service could be more attentive and frequent. I love the dining area and the have a back dining room that is very artsy. They have little offerings from local artisans, sage bundles, incense, etc. I think the outdoor area could use a little love. Tables are undersized, making the experience involve a lot of rearranging of plates. The chairs are tired and need replacing or repair, seriously the backs are so loose. I'd consider putting a hook or two on the support posts for people to hang their jacket, purse or bag. Is there value? At roughly 42.00/person for breakfast, coffee and a spritz, I think it's just "fine" and maybe improved service or some small improvements to the dining space would justify the price point.
