I came here trying to currently support only local businesses here in Bakersfield in 2026 and showed up here on a recommendation from Howie's Micheladas--another amazing local business we should all support--and Locale absolutely delivered! ​The food was incredible, everything we ordered based upon Jasmine the waitress' recommendations rocked!!!! The Western Burger was the burger was cooked rare to my liking the onion rings were big And flavorful by themselves,the cheese was absolutely some of sharpest Cheddar I've had at a restaurant, overall, one of the best burgers I've had in the valley, and paired perfectly with the sweet potato fries, which were very good but a little soft for my liking maybe next time I'll ask for them a little crispier. We also tried the loaded tuna croissant and the pastrami ,salad combo which my wife raved about both stating that the dehydrated brussel sprouts in the salad was something she wanted me to prepare at home for her my daughter liked the tuna salad but decided to take out some of the Cranberries which she said were absolutely fresh as they were very tart, both entrees were extremely tasty and prepared with super fresh ingredients. ​Lastly, shout out to Jasmine, shes an absolute gem of a person. Even though the restaurant was busy inside, she was incredibly attentive, professional, and had the warmest attitude. My niece and I came in just after the lunch rush- our server Dakota, was on it- you could tell the rush had just left- still, we were greeted with a smile and professionalism. He was still enthusiastic. The front dining area was bright and clean with a small section showcasing local goods. There are tables outside all under covering. We were brought a whipped feta and honey app and it was delicious. I appreciate the restaurant supporting local small business. Dakota was the total highlight of this place! Great service and conversation. Got the Sweet Potatoes Brussels Sprout Bowl and added tri tip - huge and filling. Started off with a complimentary 3 cheese with hot honey and ciabatta app. Impossible to leave hungry after all of that. To drink I got the watermelon Fresca, which was not my favorite - too sweet for my taste. But the place is super cute and uses local ingredients. I was told that the owner really gives back to the community. After a local hardship, the owner gave free lunch to those affected. This is definitely a place I want to support! read more

Small place I like has outdoor patio tables, place located next to a flower shop. I can imagine during week parking can get a bit difficult to get, I came on a Saturday. Service great and friendly. Food is very tasty the chicken moist and had lots flavor. This is not a budget $$$$ friendly place. I spent over $45 on a sandwich & salad. Salad + extra chicken cost an additional $3 & it was not a half chicken serving very disappointing. For price salad I thought was going to a big portion since over $15+ salad. We finally tried this place after driving past it for years. Lol. Cute downtown spot with an artsy, modern vibe. When we walked in we were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we wanted. It was pretty empty but got busier as lunch went on. About 8 minutes after we sat down, Karina (our waitress) came over. She was very friendly and brought us some rosemary lemon waters and a complimentary appetizer of butter-toasted sourdough with an onion garlic spread. I enjoyed it a lot and it was definitely a nice little touch. For the first 10 minutes though we were wondering where the menus were until we realized you have to scan the QR code on the little card that sits on the table to look at the menu! Ha, It would've been nice to have that mentioned when we sat down, but once we figured it out, it was easy. The place is pretty chill. Good verity of music playing. Atmosphere felt lively, lots of chatter as background noise, large windows that let in a lot of natural sun light so it feels open and inviting. They also brought out a free sample of their strawberry fresca, which was super fresh and refreshing. Not too sour nor sweet. We both ordered the Western burger with onion rings and sweet potato fries. Also had to get me one of those fresca's and my hubby got a coke. 25 minutes later our food arrived, and man did it look phenomenal! The burgers are stacked high, patties were thick, juicy and cheesy. The buns all glistening, and it was super saucy, just beautiful and well presented. Lol. Fries and onion rings come in cute little baskets and pots too. The beef tasted so clean and buttery! Completely melt-in-your-mouth awesomeness. Very gourmet and high quality. The bacon was perfectly cooked with very little fat and had such a rich, clean flavor and was just really done well. Quality top notch for sure. The onion rings were unlike any I've had before. They weren't super crispy, more soft and tender, but the flavor was so good it didn't even matter. They were huge and the batter was savory and seasoned well. The texture kind of reminded me of a funnel cake, soft with a little crisp.. very different from your typical onion ring. Their chipotle aioli ranch paired perfectly with them too. (My left over onion rings reheated to crispy perfection in the air fryer the next day!) The sweet potato fries were also really good and had sauce drizzled over the top. My husband mentioned it would've been nice to have some extra sauce on the side for dipping, though. Paid about 68 in total with tip. Not bad. Was in town for a few days and stopped by this local (ha ha ha) joint for a a quick brunch. We ordered the all-american burger with the sweet potato fries, a loaded tuna sandwich, a cold brew, and a regular fresca (watermelon + other seasonal fruits that have been cold pressed). Everything was so phenomenal - the food was fresh and not super heavy, and since its farm to table, everything was so so delicious. Our server Jasmine was so attentive and sweet and made sure we had what we needed. Monique was also so kind and checked in on us frequently. Went in for brunch, the menu is the same but they do serve some spritzers, so you know I was there. The best fresh squeezed juice in town! Whether you get it in the spritzer or not, it's worth! The sweet potato and Brussels sprout bowl, amazing! Avocado add on is a must, the egg is cooked perfectly to order. All the ingredients here are top tier and it really shows, the dishes are designed smartly and you can tell effort goes into the offerings. No espresso, sadly. But yes they have cold brew and french press coffee. Doesn't appear to be freshly ground that morning and consideration into procurement of a better quality coffee would yield a better outcome. I know, I know, it's from 502, but weird coffee people know what's up. The service is slow, seriously, don't bother trying to have a place to be when choosing this as your dining establishment. Knowing this, we made no plans, and took our time. But the service could be more attentive and frequent. I love the dining area and the have a back dining room that is very artsy. They have little offerings from local artisans, sage bundles, incense, etc. I think the outdoor area could use a little love. Tables are undersized, making the experience involve a lot of rearranging of plates. The chairs are tired and need replacing or repair, seriously the backs are so loose. I'd consider putting a hook or two on the support posts for people to hang their jacket, purse or bag. Is there value? At roughly 42.00/person for breakfast, coffee and a spritz, I think it's just "fine" and maybe improved service or some small improvements to the dining space would justify the price point. Really this is a 3.5ish for me. But giving 4, because of the great taste. read more

We almost walked by because we thought it was closed but my friend and I tried the door and it was open. We were greeted by a kind hostess and sat down. She brought us some freshly baked sourdough with spiced butter. It was perfect. I got the Pecan crusted Salmon with mash and Brussel sprouts. My friend got the Caviar burger with onion straws. Everything was delicious. This place got packed while we waited for our food. Families, couples, and friends all came in for dinner. They have local items being sold on a large open cabinet. Stopped by for lunch with a friend. I ordered the veggie sandwich and my friend ordered the pastrami sandwich. I was disappointed that nothing else accompanied the sandwiches like chips or fries or a small salad but I guess that's the norm now if you order a sandwich and it comes ala cart. I also ordered the tomato soup which was a bit tart but tasted good. Both sandwiches were delicious but very messy so I advise to ask for a fork and knife and lots of napkins. I tried the Tri-tip melt from their regular menu and holy cow, that thing was bursting with flavor! We walked in and were seated right away, our server was super helpful and very nice. I had to stop by the Post Office and needed some lunch. I don't know why, but I am probably one of the last people to try this place. It was time to try it. Yes, it looks like an old gas station. There are two dining areas. I sat in the north dining room. It was a bit noisy, but I had my pods in, so it wasn't much of a problem. I was eating alone today. If I wanted to have a conversation, I would likely eat outside. I ordered the Chicken Parm Sandwich. This is a good sandwich. Very filling. The chicken was tender. They serve extra sauce on the side.
