So this is a small place but it does GET BUSY! The burgers were so juicy, so flavorful and the bun to meat ratio was so good. It has pickles, tomatoes and CHOPPED onion so you can't really take it out. They don't have combos which is not ideal but we made it work. Johns Burgers used to have more locations around town. Don't see as many of them around anymore though. Dropped by this one on River Blvd. because my co-workers wanted to go here. Ordered myself John's Special which includes a 16oz drink, fries, and burger. The fries and burger tasted fine. Definitely middle of the road average which is A-Okay in my book. I'd definitely return again because it tasted okay and the price was affordable. They were pretty busy that weekday we visited for lunch. Food came out in good time and the service was fine. I settled on this for lunch today after running errands all morning, and this was my first time having this burger joint. I've known of this place since I was 11 yrs old. The line in the drive thru was long, so someone came out to get my order. I let them know everyone I work with raves about the burgers, and this was my first time. They suggested the california deluxe that included avocado, bacon, and cheese. I also ordered some fries and a mix of zucchini sticks and mushrooms. The burger is really good. Fresh avocado and bacon was perfectly cooked, not overdone or underdone. The sauce they use for the burger has great flavor. They give you yellow peppers if you ask for them. The zucchini is better than the mushrooms, but the mushrooms were also very fresh, not like most places where they are mushy and very oily. They actually do what you ask for, and I had asked for light salt on my fries, and that's what I got and the fries aren'toily at all. The ranch pairs very well with the fried things. I came to pick up dinner here and ordered 2 johns specials and a large fry and glanced in the bag to be sure there were 2 burgers and 3 fries and closed bag to keep food hot and drove home. I pulled out food and seen that all my fries were over cooked and I called to ask for them to remake my order and they said they would remake the fries only. I then proceeded to explain that I live 10 mins away and my burgers would be cold and soggy being that I drove home 10 mins than back to restaurant 10 mins and wait fir fries and back home 10 mins till I get home to eat and they would not remake my 2 burgers. I've been coming here since I was a kid and the food is still amazing! My favorite burger is the California burgers with fries and a side of ranch. We live on the other side of town now but we still drive all the way over to the east side to pick up some food. No other burger place in town can beat John's burgers on river. The service is always good, I don't think I've ever had an issue here. The only downside is the drive thru is very small so if it's busy you might have to wait on the street which can be kind of sketchy with cars turning but other than that 10/10 read more

Breakfast burritos are okay, but their burgers are horrible and always cold. Paper thin and even during lunch rush they are cold and taste old. We ordered a chicken strips meal, hot dog, tuna sandwich, and fried burritos. It took the average 7-10 minutes to get our order (made to order), and it all came out to about $18. We made it home to find that the chicken strip meal was not out in our bag. I had to drive back to get the order (not a fresh batch), and they apologized for the mistake, but didn't offer anything for the inconvenience. I wasn't going to impose, and wanted them to do it on their own, but it didn't happen. I would've appreciated a free meal for next time or something. The service last few times has not been very good, maybe they have a new cook?? I ordered some breakfast chorizo burritos the other day and they were so soaked in grease we could not eat them. It looks like they didn't drain fat after cooking chorizo. Biggest mess I ever had to deal with from take out, the grease was actually dripping from the wrapper. Very disappointing. I called and brought it to the person that answered and asked that she needed to tell cook or manager that , that was not acceptable and I had to throw away food. Johns Burgers is a mystery to the world. Not only do they have a backwards drive through. They managed to ensure customers wait 30 mins before their "fast" food is ready. Iv experienced it all, drive through, walk-up, and call in. All have been terrible wait times. I doesn't matter if the place is empty or packed. Plan on spending a good 30-45 mins here if you want your food. This place is the size of a small shed, yet they some how seem to pack in 15-20 employees on any given day. 3 people literally just take orders and 3 guys are on the grills.
