It's reputation is undeniable. Where can I get a good burger, reasonably priced and made by a company and their staff with pride and care. No wonder most states are envious of how easy we can get their food. After a signing event a block away, we looked at the clock and learned there weren't many options for a relatively later dinner at 8:30 pm on a Monday night. We were a little worried about the drive up line so I convinced my friend thSt we should find a parking spot and dine in. We walked in and saw one line with four people ahead of us with two cashiers taking orders; that should beat the 9-10 cars that we saw snake out to Rollins Road. Besides the dining area inside, there are several outdoor tables in case you prefer that or the overflow is too much inside. A short time later, we placed our order, keeping the receipt handy and waiting for our # to be called. I took my beverage cup to the soda station to fill as my friend used the restroom. I found a disabled person table near the side entrance. When my friend reached the table and after he filled his beverage cup, I walked to to ketchup station which doubled as a pepper station too. Getting mini paper cups of both for us both, I brought them to the table and, about two minutes later, our # was called. Millbrae in n out is extremely popular because it's the closest one from the SFO airport and it's across from the station that has both Bart and Caltrain connections. Add all those tourists and transit people you also have people from the whole peninsula, you can understand how crowded it gets here. The parking lot is probably the worst part of the experience here because it's always congested so I do not recommend coming here is you are short of time. It shares the parking lot with the carwash and several other restaurants so you'll likely be stuck here for a long while regardless whether you are going through drive thru or parking. The food is standard in n out which means something if you either are local or tourist. In n out intentionally goes old school so there is no app no order ahead and everything is pretty much all hand made including fries. If you never had their fries you may be surprised at the difference in texture but you'll like it the more you try. The burger is fresh and my only complaint is that I don't like their buns especially if you do grilled onions or animal style because the buns get soggy and breaks apart. Circled SF for 25 mins trying to find a parking spot for dinner but had no luck so we gave up and went to innout instead. Innout never fails to satisfy me. My go to is a hamburger with grilled onions and fries with spread. I tried the lite pink lemonade today too since we came after a hike and I was really thirsty. After 12 years, we have returned to this In-N-Out after a long flight into SFO. It is 10:30pm and it's still packed in here with a long line to the drive-thru that snakes through the entire parking lot. It is really conveniently located right across Hwy 101 from the airport, so you can grab a burger before or after your flight or both until 1am. I have to have my double-double animal style with 2 fresh beef patties, 2 slices of cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion & spread. Spread is In-N-Out's secret sauce and you can get extra packets for squirting on burgers & fries. You can explore other options on their secret menu like protein style, onion wrap or flying dutchman, but I've settled on animal style as my favorite. I still haven't tried extra patties & cheese beyond 3x3, but there's still time in this life. The fries are always fresh cut and double-fried to perfection. You should see the fry guy go to town, ramming whole potatoes through the wall mounted cutter with a vengeance. Fries come out of the oil crispy on the outside and steamy on the inside. They must have just changed the frying oil that day because our fries were very light tan (almost white) despite being crispy. If you like your fries extra crunchy, you can order them "well done". You can also get melted cheese fries and animal fries with cheese, grilled onions & spread. Don't forget the ice cream shakes in vanilla, chocolate or strawberry. Like most In-N-Outs, the first time you visit, you have to pay attention to the other cars while figuring out what direction the drive-thru line is flowing. The guy taking orders outside at the drive-thru was pretty cool and gave great customer service. Our order was simple anyway. The buns of the burgers were a bit burnt so they tasted a bit bitter. Fries had lots of salt on them. The water really tasted bad and smelled like the cleaning liquid use in bathrooms. The busiest Store in bay area. It is always a long line for drive through and parking could be challange. I usually just do walk in and order to go at cashier or eat in. Service is very quick if we order inside. The store is same layout as other store in Bay area except the one in pier 39 if I am not mistaken. Quality is same for stores. I always order with double double meal or cheese burger meal. I always get well done fris. I like the crispy of the fries eventhough I know it is not healthy for "double fry" fries. Our friend group came here on a Saturday night and it was relatively busy. The food was good but I want to highlight exceptional customer service. We got our food and decided to sit outside because it was pretty busy inside. A group of teenage boys, at most 15yo, were bothering us, calling us names and even started getting touchy. Despite us telling them to stop bothering many times, they would not comply. We notified the employees, and they quickly took action which I truly appreciate and even offered to walk us back to our cars. I personally felt very unsafe as we are at a time where it's dangerous to be in public and god knows what people would do. I truly appreciate the team members and the store managers, apologies for forgetting your names, for taking this seriously and making sure that we were safe. Then you go back to McDonald's some time later (nothing wrong with McD's) and realize how much In-N-Out subconsciously elevated your standards :O So yeah, is it the best burger in the world? Unlikely - but for the price point, you get simple perfection of a burger - and can trust the ingredients are pure and fresh. There's no wonder why there's always a line here, even when other fast food joints are empty. The downsides? Probably the wait honestly. If you're new, everything's made-to-order (whereas other places cook a huge batch and hope enough people order - otherwise, that patty sits...). Plus, they're usually busy so you can expect to wait 5-20min just to order (especially in a long drive-thru) + the additional 7-15min to cook your order, especially if they're backed up. In total, maybe 10-20+min to get your food - but if you have the time, it's absolutely worth it :) Just ask your friends and neighbors if they want anything so you can maximize the return of your wait :) Also yeah, the fries aren't the greatest - it depends on the person at the station but usually "light-well" or "well" is pretty good. Also, their french fries prices are pretty affordable considering how much other places have jacked theirs up. Overall, living near a In-N-Out is such a blessing. In n Out is always a pitstop home after flying into SFO. It's conveniently located a block down 101S off Millbrae Ave. PSA: beware of the red light cameras at the freeway exit! The drive through line may look a mile long but they have the system down and are so efficient here. As with the other locations, there is an employee taking orders on an iPad so you bypass the drive through menu ordering system. By the time you get to the 1st window to pay, your order is ready at the 2nd window. We're usually able to get through the line in 10-15 minutes. The burgers and fries here are so good! You can't beat the price either, $6.05 for a double double, and $4.25 for a cheeseburger. You can taste the fresh ingredients and quality! While I do like an occasional burger from its competitor, In n Out is still my go-to for a quick and delicious burger. Don't forget to ask for special sauce! read more

It's been a long while since I've been to In-N-Out, but every time I'm in the Bay Area, I run to the nearest one. Came in on a Wednesday around 1pm. It was quite crowded, but understandable since it's right by SFO and by Millbrae Station during lunch hour. Ordered 2 double-doubles with fries and animal style, one four by four, and one protein style double-double. Food tasted fresh as I remember and hit the spot. If you're hungry, highly recommend the 4x4 as it's $9.85 and the double-double is $6.05 - more protein for less. The seating area was crowded but clean.
