Stopped by here to pass time before an appointment and to get some work done. It wasn't too busy so I was able to place my order at the counter quickly. I got a latte and oatmeal. I was able to find a table easily too. As I was working, the noise around me made it quite difficult to concentrate. There was a worker taking her break at a table near me. She was watching tik tok at full volume and sat there for the entire hour I was there. At another nearby table, another diner was talking to someone on the phone on speaker. I just had to write about my experience in Panera, on Adrian Rd., in Millbrae (not even twenty minutes ago) because I was bowled over by the new manager, Lala. You'd think it was a Michelin star restaurant, by the treatment she gave me! She was so polite, respectful, professional, knowledgeable to the point of giving me details on each of the pastries I wanted to buy, and just plain very nice. The food is always consistent. I like to order the value duets for lunch since it's the most cost effective. You can't beat $8.99 for soup, half sandwich and chips/bread. The staff is always courteous and kind. They will even greet you when coming in and out. A tip that I want to share is I use the Panera app to order food and I'm always impressed with how fast they get the orders ready. I've been visiting for the past two years and never had a later order up until yesterday. It was the first time my order was not ready at the promised time. Avoid wasting your money at this location. I typically stop at Panera both all over California traveling for my job, and in many other states because the quality of food is generally the same when you travel a lot you want something you can depend on that does not happen at this Panera. This Panera bread is the exception to the rule. I ordered a BLT and paid for extra bacon what I received was a BLT with two pieces of bacon and a lot of turkey. I did not take the product and asked for it to be remade a BLT with extra bacon, which was paid for 30 seconds later I was called to the window where I open the sandwich and there was two full pieces of bacon and a less than 1/3 broken piece. That's right a BLT with extra bacon with 2 1/3 pieces of bacon on it with the prices of Panera skyrocketing and this particular Panera bread place cheap cheap out on the sandwich quality I returned it and got a refund I'm not paying $28 for a soda, yogurt and sandwich especially when it's not up to snuff The manager who refunded my money argued with the lack of bacon she says well we can agree to disagree. I said look at the sandwich there is less than three pieces of bacon on it. There are two full pieces and a small tiny broken piece. She said that's extra bacon. I'm wondering if the actual BLT would've only had one piece of bacon on it This particular location is too be avoided. It's a real shame since it's located so close to the airport. read more

I was a little upset about one thing - my chicken soup was a bit too salty. However, I liked the Caesar salad, and I appreciated the fact that when you buy tea, you can add honey, which has a good effect on the body, protecting against possible cold weather illnesses. My boyfriend also rated his tomato soup and sandwich, saying it's a nice place to visit in the cold season. I sometimes go to Panera because I have the unlimited drink subscription. The people at this location will get you a cup without even verifying your subscription. Anyways I had an Asiago bagel in the Daly City location and it was pretty good. I decided to order one at this location but it always shows all bagels sold out on the app, maybe because they don't feel like making them. My guy went inside and ordered 2 bagels. One for me and one for my 7 year old. Both bagels were burnt and just thrown in the back not wrapped or anything. My sons was crispy with bubbles and mine wasn't even cut in half right. Cold management scolded an employee in the dining space: I sat down at the window table near the ordering tablets, and where apparently is in front of the "business table" nook area where Panera management sits and talks business. As I was sitting I could hear every private conversation about names of specific employees, comments about their work performances and their work schedules. Then at the end, an older short male manager pulled up one of the subordinate employees to have a negative performance review about her. His tone was unprofessional and didn't care to listen about what the new employee was experiencing, he just wanted her performance better. Numbers, numbers, numbers and he didn't care about the humanity of his employees. To top things off, he made her get up in the middle of the conversation to help a customer at the register and come back, as if she was even in the mindset to provide friendly customer service after demoralizing her just so she can sit back down and be demoralized even more. I wish I said something because I know this poor girl doesn't get paid enough to deal with such pig-like and unprofessional big wigs. I also have dealt with similar experiences at another Panera location of management acting unprofessionally superior towards lower ranking employees in front of customers. There is clearly a deep rooted issue in the way Panera Bread corporate treats their employees and it bleeds down the ladder. Do better Panera Bread! Panera isn't my first choice of food and I don't really eat here, but I decided to come here on a whim. I'm glad I did! The place is spacious and clean, but there are some flaws like small dents on the wall where you can actually see the drywall but... what can you do.. the music isn't boring and is at the right amount of level of volume. I love that the food was prepared fast. Although the soup wasn't hot, it was "warm enough", the ingredients tasted fresh. The veggies in my bowl weren't wilted and sad looking. The rice wasn't sticky nor dry, 'twas just right! We walked in and was greeted warmly. She, the team member, respectfully gave us time to look at the menu. And when we had questions like what comes in a bowl or a sandwich and what her personal opinion was, her response was very informative and genuine. She had a great outgoing personality without being too informal. She was respectful and pleasant. She has great style. Her name is Nona and she's the reason why we WILL come back to grab another bite. Her service was the cherry on top of a good night. She also is the reason why this review, ultimately, has 5 stars. PS. I saw a review from months back complaining about what the employees were doing on their break. It's nobody's business what you do on your break. Go ahead and watch or listen to whatever you want in any volume. And if you gotta go potty and use up your whole break time, you do you. No boss nor customer should be concerned about what you do with your time as long as it's not illegal, ethical and not harming anyone. I enjoy coming to this Panera while waiting for family or friends to arrive at the airport. It's a exits away from SFO and in the morning there's a decent amount of people. Not too crowded nor empty. The food is good I ordered from the kiosk a blue berry muffin and chai tea latte I'm rating this a three only because of three customer service. I've been in customer service for almost 20 years and so I notice how employers treat customers. I know we have bad days but I just didn't appreciate the attitude on a employee. This wasn't for me though. An older gentlemen who purchased his food later came back to the register and asked very nicely if his $20 bill could be broken down. The employee responded " no! We don't do that here" the tone of voice was unnecessary, the gentlemen responded "I understand". After my food came out they called out the order and I went to pick it up with a "thank you" I get no answer. I get it we are all busy and we get fought up with things. I don't normally enjoy going to massive national food chains, but Panera has been kind of a good thing for me, being on keto - lots of options and ingredients can be subbed out or removed. Locationally, it's very well located right in between el Camino and 101, right close by a Bart and Caltrain station. Soon to be built apartments across the street as well. The last two visits to this Panera have been disappointing. Both times I received notification that my order was ready, but it was not on the clearly labeled shelf which we are directed to for our orders. I asked at the prep counter about my order and both times I was told by the same employee that "yeah, it's ready". I reply that the order is not on the shelf and this employee just points and says "it's there" and points to the prep counter where a bag is at the back side of the counter which I am unable to reach. I requested both times for the employee to push the bag forward for me and she did so with a scowl. To top it off the order isn't even complete, and the grilled cheese sandwich that I ordered is two slices of untoasted bread with congealed cheese in between them. This location has poor customer service and unreliable quality of food, as well as a limited menu. Many of our favorite items are no longer in the menu. I do not recommend ordering here. read more

Went here for the first time this morning. I have never been to a Panera but was in the area for a meeting. Decided to grab a bagel toasted with cream cheese. When i go to grab the bagel i realize they dont put the cream cheese on for you just one small container thrown into the bag. This was a disappointment as Panera is a full restaurant with a fill restaurant staff. They do however make sure to have tip jars on every counter.... They've got a bee problem out here. I literally thought I was going to get attacked by a sea of bees! Why not give them a lower rating? The management is trying to solve the problem by putting traps near the patio. These traps are hanging by the tree about 10 feet away. Should they buy more? probably. Moreover, I chose to run inside with a baguette in my mouth and continued to enjoy my food. Would I come to this location again? Yeah, I'll just opt to sit inside.
