I visited this small vintage collective a number of times many years ago then gave up because I couldn't seem to find anything for what I felt was a fair price. I began skipping right past it on my way to Vintage Cove, also on Palmetto. I tried again recently and something has changed. Maybe some spaces turned over? Lately I've been finding something every time I visit, such as Pyrex, neckties (for Dad), Royal Albert china (for Mom), mid century fiberglass and lucite trays, funky pleather pants (for daughter), and an old glass percolator, all at prices that I like. Now this has become a required stop whenever I'm also going to my beloved Vintage Cove. It's not quite 4 stars for me yet, though, due to a few still-stale spaces where items don't seem to move; it could be a much more vibrant place to shop with fresh dealers in those booths. read more

Great place to find that item you did not realize you will be taking home. Vintage or that piece of nostalgia, the item that adds to your existing set or maybe a gift. The good things are that the staff is friendly, and they have a variety of antique items from furniture and framed wall art to dishware and jewelry. With that said, a lot of the items are not really what I typically look for. What you think of "antique", this store probably comes to mind compared to other antique shops I've been to. read more

Very standard selection with a nice staff. However, it was very jarring to walk in and see items from Nazi Germany for sale. Rather startled by the insensitivity displayed by the owners and their choice to carry this kind of merchandise. I cannot support a business that makes money off of such items. read more

I enjoy checking out this shop when I'm at the beach house. Through the years I've picked up fun collectibles, handmade gifts made from cashmere, old jewelry and a gorgeous vintage slipper chair in mint condition. The folks at the register have been helpful and friendly. I'm glad to see the store is still around despite Covid and I look forward to a visit soon. read more

I've been frequenting this lovely vintage shop for a couple years now. I've always found something to take home, as their variety is very vast! But this weekend I hit the mother load!! I went in on Friday and got a very rare Pyrex "balloons" bowl in great shape for a steal at $18, and a cute 1960s baby crib on wheels for $35! Unbelievable pricing. I noticed a pair of turn of the century baby bath tubs from Hungary, with stands. The pricing was $195/each. Already a great deal for one of a kind planters that would last forever. Still, I wasn't sure I should go for them, so I left without. I ended up going back today with cash to see if they could do anything. Turns out the owner had bought them, and she was willing to work on the price for me. I walked out of there with a SUPER deal!! -awesome customer service -excellent variety -affordable pricing I will be back again soon!! read more

My husband and I stopped in at In The Attic today and we were delighted with the great and interesting collection of antiques, including mid century modern and rarities (have you ever seen a navy bomb in a store before?). Fun to browse. A real treasure trove (my husband bought a vintage Beatles pin that he loves). This store is total eye candy. Discussing antiques with Rita was informative and fun. The first thing I noticed when walking into this amazing blizzard of a treasure trove was the 1963 quarter slot machine next to the door. Although it looked like it needed a little TLC I did briefly imagine having my own slot machine. China, radios, record players, silver jewelry; old chenille bedspreads like the one my parents had when I was a kid--you know the white kind with the little white balls that your little brother enjoys picking off to make patterns that your Mom isn't very happy about later? Polaroid cameras, old tools, old cooking utensils, Halloween cookie baking molds (pumpkins, cats, and ghosts!), weird salt and pepper shakers, a big wooded abacus made out of mahogany, some scratched armoires. I've been here about six times over the past year. Each time I've been treated poorly, or more importantly, my son has been treated poorly. My family has been treated poorly when they have gone without me, so I know it's not just me. One time, my son (10 at the time) went to walk in with his grandpa five minutes before closing, and they literally slammed the door in his face and said they were closed. He was embarrassed and his feelings were hurt. They charge 3x + what items are actually worth, and they make sure to get every penny from you. Today, I was hesitant to go because of past experiences, but my son really wanted to walk in and look. (He loves thrift stores and garage sales.) There was a line to checkout, so I asked if I can give them $6 cash for a toy marked $6. They coldly told me "no" and that I needed to wait and pay the tax. I understand it's a business and they need to make money, but I saw the same toy online for $1.98. They do not negotiate, they are not kid friendly, and they all have sticks up their butts. Every other shop on Palmetto is fantastic with lovely owners and staff. I made a purchase from every single one today. Unfortunately, this place will not get this local's business again, and I'll be telling my friends and family to stay clear. read more

There was a time when this place was a neatly organized 2nd hand shop that I was excited to browse through... those days are no more. I stopped in yesterday and it looked like an overflowing landfill. I was looking for furniture knobs, and because of the extreme, overwhelming chaos, I asked the woman working if she knew of any in the store. She looked appalled that I had spoken to her and replied "I only work here once a month." I noted 2 other guys who seemed to work there and asked if anyone else would be familiar with the inventory or store. Her annoyed reply- "Not anyone that's here." Ok, buh bye. 2 stars because there was a lot of stuff dumped everywhere (much more so than Goodwill) so if you're into that, then you might like it. read more

Absolutely the best antique shop I've ever found. I have a unique and specific collection and on a whim I came here looking for pieces missing from my sets. Not only did I find the pieces I needed but I found other pieces of collections I hadn't found before. Turns out some of the ladies here are also collectors of the same figures and we had great conversation! There is such an amazing variety of unique items here, I could spend hours browsing and wishing I was rich! Today however, was probably the best experience. Not only did the ladies remember me but they were so excited to meet my husband as well. We were on a hunt for a wedding band for him and I thought why not see if he liked anything in their display. Not only did we find one that fit the style he was looking for but it fit his finger PERFECTLY. It was meant to be. They also are doing a great job with sanitation and safety procedures. Hand sanitizer for everyone who walks in, all who work their have their masks on and they had plastic panels hung around the main counter/check out. I Love In The Attic. They have really cool stuff at very fair prices.In The attic is the best place for vintage and antique stuff that's affordable. They've got great items from way back and sometimes even rarer items. Most of the stuff is pretty unique. Rita is very fair and a good person to talk to. In The Attic rotates merchandise fairly quickly, so if you see something you really like it's probably smart to buy it right away. The owner is very sweet and she knows her antiques!!! The people here are extremely nice... I saw a ring that I absolutely LOVED and had to have that was 38 dollars and I got them to lower it to 35 dollars, since that was all the money I had at the time... They had to call the artist of the piece to ask if it was ok, but she didn't answer so they said they would give me call... and they called me within a day or two and I told them I would come back the next weekend when I had the money (today 9/21/12). So they held the ring for me for about 3 weeks because they saw that I really loved it. read more

This is a sweet little shop with quirky stuff, fun to roam around in for an hour. The owner operators are always great to chat with and parking is pretty easy to come by. The prices are generally pretty reasonable. It seems like they are always have some type of sale. Plus the beautiful beach is a block away so it's worth a trip. read more

Got to love this place! Simply amazing that there are always new things to look at - due to the great low prices, things go out / things come in! Debbie's Attic is a large building and it is full of all sorts of fun stuff. Don't be put off by the amount, once you get started, you can't stop looking. I've seen the most beautiful stained glass doors from South Africa, a high Deco tray, trays of beautiful (and affordable) jewelry and a retro kitchen table & chairs, all in great condition. This place is fabulous. Well organized with some great gems waiting to be found. furniture pieces, clothing, kitchenware, olddd toys and products (the 1950's blackhead remover gave me a good laugh) beautifully framed photos and art, etc. The owner is great. He is friendly and is knowledgeable about everything in his shop. My husband was ecstatic when he found 2 beautifully framed, 80 year old train photographs. The owner gave us a great deal and my husband and him chatted about trains while I continued to browse. I love this place and will definately return. read more
