Northfield Kennels - All the nerves that a dog has in the head and neck area... and the way they get treated without being able to speak for themselves!!!

First off, go ahead and forget Megan R's review. Read it, and then realize that what she's talking…read moreabout are training "shock" collars, training "choke" collars, and other standard training tools/techniques that you'd find at any pet supply store or training book. Megan R. Sounds like someone who has unruly dogs and is unwilling to take the necessary, assertive steps to bring them to heel. Also, take into account that Sam and his team not only train for obedience and hunting, but also spent time in war zones training explosives detection dogs and have a charity training veteran's and their service dogs. Simply put, they know what they're doing. Now, on to my review...I take my two Beagles (5 and 13 years old) here regularly. My dogs love it there! They are well attended to, played with, and always smell nice when I pick them up. The facilities are clean and temperature appropriate for the season. The staff keeps the runs and play areas tidy. They always keep an eye out for health issues and are very flexible with pickup and drop off times. At $68/night for both my hounds, this is my kennel of choice. The bottom line is my dogs love it here and that's the only feedback that matters to me!

How confusing for a dog to do what the say and still get punished!! I was so appalled I tried calling the next day, and they don't answer my phone call!!!! What if PETA knew about this????

Super big thank you to Bobbie at Bob's for the great one on one attention given to my two dogs! I also appreciate immensely how accommodating Bobbie was with my uncertain travel schedule. 100% will use this service again. Two happy dogs - Bentley and Bleau are now at home dreaming about their "vacation" (deep sleeping and feets running). Thank you!

When I first moved to Rochester, I was in need of dog boarding. I called the biggest one in town…read more(you can imagine what business I'm talking about!) and took my dog out for a 10 minute "test" they called it. 10 minutes later I went inside to see how my dog did and I heard my dog barking frantically in a cage. ??? HOW did that happen in 10 minutes? Apparently they put my dog in a small room with a vet and another dog and they said he didn't do well...of course not! He doesn't know any of you and was scared! I immediately went to find another company and found Animal Friends. I told them of this situation and they said to bring my dog down to meet them, he did fine as I expected and my dog has now been happily boarded for 2.5 years. I travel extensively and appreciate that it's a family owned business that actually cares about my dog. They know I travel and accomodate me too because some nights I come in late and picking up the next day is better for me. If you are looking for a great dog boarding company that will treat you and your dog like family, I totally recommend Animal Friends.

I've only been in one beginner obedience class so far, but I have been to and used many training…read morefacilities and trainers over the years. I can tell I am going to be very happy with the class. Due to COVID-19, class sizes are smaller than usual. I can't say I would be as happy with it if they were running a full sized class. The number of dogs and distance we're able to maintain now seems appropriate. More dogs makes me think the experience would be much less positive with only one trainer and the noise that comes with more dogs and people. I expect hearing even without masks in this facility can often be an issue. I would most likely deduct stars under those conditions. I'm excited for the class and to really see how Tails Up functions, as I expect to have my puppy in training for years before he's exactly what I want.

We were skeptical (and a little nervous), but we were delighted at the professionalism, the high degree of knowledge transfer, and the nearly immediate results we got. Since then we've enrolled him in Intermediate Obedience/Canine Good Citizen and he's turned out a gentle, well-mannered dog. One reason is that the trainers introduce real-life situations (noises, distractions, etc.) that help the dog learn to obey in these situations. They also teach us as dog owners how to train-- probably the best bit of learning. Since then our female has completed Basic Obedience and she's on her way to being a therapy dog. A service that's definitely worth the modest cost.

The keys, of course, were on the seat. Natalie stayed with the lady and tried everything she could think of to help get a door unlocked, and stayed with her until a tow-truck (called by another employee) could get there and get the car open. That was really above and beyond, and makes me remember that there are truly good people in the world. Thanks Natalie and the Petsmart crew!

I was asked by the rude little maroon haired girl, how big is the tank, how many fish do you haw in there, what kind of fish do you have in there. I replied I would like 2 angle and a moly, she proceeded to tell me, a man 3 times her age, that has had tanks all my life, that angles are aggressive to fish smaller than the angles. I told her I do not need a lecture, can I have the fish, she then went on to tell me about the size of her angles in tanks 5 and 10 times the size of my granddaughters tank. I again asked he for the fish, in an aggravated tone. She then told me she can refuse to sell me the fish. I asked again, she refused, which is good, the fish tanks look to be filled with sewer water, in the short time I was there I spotted 2 dead fish and one swimming sideways. Which will come as little surprise to anyone, the store itself is filthy, the place should buy a mop. Do not but fish there unless you want to be lectured and questioned like your adopting a small child
