I went ahead and scheduled a Saturday appointment where he came and serviced 3 vehicles. Carlos spent a good amount of time for each vehicle (about 2 hours each) and everything was cleaned really well. I only had a car wash for these but all cleaned well from the inside. My car was vandalized and needs the driver's door handle/keyhole replacement. The vandal also popped open the hood and flip flopped thru the various things under the hood. This shop was on my insurance's network of auto shops. I brought my car in and James (one of the 3J's) told me that it should take 2-3 days max. He said they will scan the car but will also send to dealership to ensure the engine is ok. Their pre-scan revealed nothing alarming so we are just dealing with the replacement of the door handle. I asked a couple body shops, and they confirmed that should not be more than 2 or 3 days of work, including time to get the parts... it's a Kia, parts are readily available at any Kia dealership. James said he will prepare and send estimate to the insurance company and share a copy with me. Never got a copy, will come back to this in a bit. My insurance approved the estimate and told me that the auto shop will have my car back by Day 8 the latest. Due date came and went with excuses after excuses. I had no choice but to give them extra time to finish (6 additional days with weekends). Day 14 came and still no car. And no one at the shop called to give me status; I was always the one that called and called. At the end of business day on Day 14, I received an email from them, confirming that I had picked up my car and that they enjoyed working with me. What?!! I reported to the insurance company and asked them to intervene and I told the insurance company that I will report the car stolen if I don't hear back from them. I also called them multiple times daily and they stopped taking my calls. Day 17 - James called me back and said, "you elevated with insurance side and said you are gonna call the police?!" I'm like, yes wouldn't you?!! He said he's having the car cleaned now and it will be ready in a few hours. I told him that I'm coming for my car within the hour. When I arrived, the car was not in any of the parking spaces. He called someone to bring the car and gave me the key. I went to my car - it was so dirty; it was obvious that it had been sitting outside. And what was even more outrageous ... they installed a grey color door handle on an entirely white car. It was clear to me that they had just installed it that morning (Day 17) because I said I was coming for it. I took my car and reported to the insurance company. The insurance company indicated that they had already paid the shop and because it's a network shop, the work is guaranteed for life. What work?!! I asked the insurance to send me a copy of the bill because I never saw the estimate and I want to review it. The bill included 30+ itemized items and I told the insurance only 2 may have been "done" and I say that very loosely. **Door handle - not only was it not painted or match the car, it doesn't even work with the manual key. **Dealership scan - I doubt this was done because the bill included scan results and the mileage doesn't match my car. This is not about my dissatisfaction of workmanship or customer experience (and there were plenty to complain about). They billed for things they simply did not do and had I not get the bill from the insurance company, insurance company would not have known. I sent video and pictures to insurance company to show the condition of the car when I picked it up and also told insurance to send an independent adjuster to verify if those are not sufficient. I will not take my car back to this shop for any reason. Honestly a 1-star review is generous but there isn't any option for less.
