I can't begin to explain how much I love this office and staff. Specially Will! From setting up all 9 of my family members with appointments that was convenient for everyone's schedule. From teaching me how to properly use contact lenses, will was kind, gentle and patient with me. He made my family and I feel comfortable. He took his time showing us frames while we waited and he didn't try to upswell anything, he told me pros and cons of frames as well as pros and cons to contacts. When it came time to add ons he explained din detail what everything cost vs if it was recommended. The Dr himself we love too. He is also very kind and patient with my kids and my mom, my mom whom speaks little English he never talks down on her like previous Dr. they make it easy to check in with the iPads and I see the staff clean thoroughly after each patient. More recently the doors were locked and I showed up exactly at 6:00 to pick up my glasses and just when I was going to walk away Mr.Will saves the day and let's up go on and we were all happy with our new glasses! I've seen my fair share of doctors during my lifetime and I've only met a few who are genuinely attentive like Dr. Bui. I started going here for my postops after getting Lasik last month. Whenever I had any questions, Dr. Bui would patiently answer my questions. He would give thorough explanation about each step of the examination so I felt informed of the process. Even though sometimes it got busy and there were other people waiting, Dr. Bui never rushed through the examination. So even if there may be a bit of a wait during busy times, you know that it's because he is giving the same attentiveness to other patients that he will give to you. I went to In Vision for my annual eye exam. The staff working at the front desk were attentive and friendly. They helped me with payment and got me set up with the intake paperwork, which is conveniently completed using an iPad. The waiting area was comfortable and clean, and all patients were asked to wash their hands before taking a seat. The eye exam was thorough and efficient, and included retinal imaging. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Bui. He is personable, easy to talk to, and made me feel at ease throughout my appointment. I will be seeing Dr. Bui for my primary optometry care needs moving forward. After the eye exam, I purchased glasses from the optical shop, which has a large selection of frames at a variety of price points. One of the staff spent about 30 minutes helping me select frames and discussing the options for lenses and add-ons. She was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I never felt rushed while choosing my glasses, even though the office was fairly busy at the time. The private pay cost for both the eye exam and the glasses was reasonable. They also accept many insurance plans. I'm looking forward to returning to In Vision for my eye exam next year, and I will definitely purchase glasses from them again in the future. Dishonest. They hid the affordable, insurance-covered glasses frames in a back room. The owner also told me that insurance would not cover my contact lenses, and that I needed to pay; he was wrong. In Vision Boston is contracted with my insurance company to display a collection of glasses frames which are covered by my insurance. When I arrived, there was no frame collection in sight. I had to ask the staff to bring the frames out, which they were reluctant to do. The staff brought out several trays, all in disarray, and laid the them on the glass tops of the display cases. Then staff kept moving the trays, to show frames *inside* the display cases to other customers. Not a pleasant shopping experience. When I was done, staff took the trays away to hide them again. The affordable frames (the ones in the trays) obviously had no place on their fancy showroom floor. (Before I realized the cheap frames existed, they tried to steer me towards a pair that would have cost me over $600.) Same thing with contacts. I asked Bui about my options. He said my insurance absolutely would not cover, that he had "dealt with them before", that I would have to pay. I no longer believed what he said, so I collected my prescriptions and left. I went to another doctor. She had the insurance company frame collection on a 7-foot-tall rotating rack with the company name on it. She said that a company representative would frequently come in, add new frames, and take away old ones. She that these frames were supposed to be on display. She said that Bui was not supposed to hide them (and she was not sure how he was getting away with it). I told the doctor that I was concerned about what Bui had said about the contact lenses, that I was afraid I'd be stuck with a bill. She assured me that Bui was wrong, that I should not worry, that my contacts were covered. She further assured me that if she was wrong, no problem, her office would send them back, no charge. But that turned out to be unnecessary, because when my glasses and contacts were delivered, sure enough, insurance covered EVERYTHING. I didn't have to pay a cent for my glasses or contacts. This doctor saved me from losing over $700 to Dylan Bui's scams. Make sure to read the filtered reviews of In Vision Boston (small link at bottom, "not currently recommended"). This is my second time getting my glasses by Dr Bui. First off the staff is awesome, I must've tried on every pair in the store. I did not feel rushed and they took amazing care of me. So much so that I got 2 pairs this time. Secondly, the eye exam was very thorough and it was cool to see the insides of my eyeball. He was extremely accommodating even with my many questions. Very pleasant people. A combination of standard clinical eye exam plus high tech retinal photography provides a comprehensive annual exam. Dr Bui answered all my questions and described various options for corrective lenses. I bought frames there but also took a copy of my prescription in case I want to get an additional pair online. InVision did credit me the $150 that Tufts Medicare preferred plan allows annually for frames. read more

Great location, I love the place , so modern and clean. Parking is okay, try to come on a weekday! Dr. Bui is wonderful and nice, very educated and warm. The staff on the other hand not so much. So cold and unwelcoming. Even when I call on the phone, they are short and robotic. When I went to try on glasses, the girl was patient with me and even suggested some pairs. As I was trying them on I noticed her rolling her eyes and whispering to her friend. How rude! I only just met you 3 minutes ago and already feel so terribly uncomfortable. Dr. Bui is helpful and friendly but the receptionists do not know what they are doing. I've had my prescriptions mixed up by them on numerous occasions when ordering from second parties and instead of admitting that they made a mistake they kept telling me I was mistaken without answering my questions. When I asked them to explain how the mix up occurred they tried to brush me off by telling me that the doctor is very busy with other patients and would not be able to help me so I went in person. Finding out that I have been wearing the wrong prescription glasses and contacts for possible over a year even though it is not by much and knowing that I paid for this service is very upsetting. They also tried blaming Walgreens (my contact distributor) for the mistake but I have also ordered from another site with them verifying the wrong information meaning the mistake most likely occurred on their end. I left the office without wanting to argue further since in the end I was clarify the situation with the the doctor. However, working in the medical field myself I found the staff to be extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate to their patients through this experience. Instead of owning up to the mistakes they made, they treated me like I did not understand what was going on rather than taking the time to explain where the possible mishap could have occurred and tried to blame other people for the error which is not something a healthcare professional does. read more

Found this place on my eye insurance website. It was close to home and I was needing an eye exam so I made an appointment. The receptionist was super friendly and gave me a wide range of availability (+1). Dr. Dylan Bui is a super star. He was friendly, knowledgable and took me through the exam step by step. No surprises. Quick, efficient - perfecto. The shop also had a nice wide range of frames from super cheap (under $100) to high end. The frames queen employee helped me try on a few different styles and picked a few out that she thought would be different and fun. Good times. I was looking for a new optometrist as my previous one was not conveniently located to my home. I found In Vision through Yelp and read through the reviews. After seeing some negative feedback about the lack of information on their part, I proactively researched my insurance coverage and printed out the information. Sadly, the receptionist informed me that my coverage only includes a contacts prescription OR a glasses prescription. I decided to get new glasses and order new contacts through 1800Contacts myself. Nevertheless, I had a great experience here. Once you walk in, your olfactory senses are flooded with fruity scents which I loved! It's better than having it stink! Dr Bui was fantastic and really took the time to explain everything to me. He also listened to my needs as well. Overall, I'm happy with this place. This review is for contact lens orders only though. Like most places, they accept all insurances and the prices are really fair. It seems like their frame selection wasn't as large as other places like Lens Crafters, but a good and modest selection. As for service, the people seem really friendly. All my information was double checked with care. The reason why it's 4 stars instead of 5 was that their estimate time on when my order was going to be ready was a week off and my last pair of contacts ripped a while ago. Boo. When I got a call from them, they said they were missing one box but said I could wait until the last one came in. No biggie, but would've liked it when a week earlier. read more

I paid hundreds of dollars for a pair of new glasses. Within a week, the screw snapped inside the ear piece. I came back down to have the professionals handle it. They told me that they couldn't fix it, but I was welcome to try... I declined, and they said they would send them to the manufacturer. I waited for weeks and called often. Nothing was done. Several months later, I am being told the same story over and over... the only person with any authorization to do anything is NEVER in when I go to check on my glasses, or call. I have been a client of In Vision Boston for a number of years. Have been pleased with service even though his young staff have made a few errors in the past. I am not able to get to there office before closing time 6:00 PM. Recently I had an eye exam, went well, ordered glasses for distant, reading and sun glasses. Their office called to says my glasses were ready. I said I would be in on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend. Called on Tuesday, August 28th. I asked if they would be open on Saturday 1st. I was told yes. Go to their location Saturday morning. There is a sign on the door that they are closed for the Holiday Weekend. I will leave work early this week to pick up my glasses and then I am done with In Vision. read more

Dr. Dylan Bui IS a super star, as a previous reviewer mentioned. I like the amount of time and care he puts into an eye exam. I've had 2 so far from him and he really makes you feel comfortable and even humors some of my nitpicky technical questions. Frame selection isn't the best in town, but they have plenty of variety to choose from. The frame salesman up front may not be everyone's favorite, but I like how honest he is. I have no use for salesmen who sugarcoat. I have been wearing glasses from here for 2 years now and they are still in great shape. Keep up the good work read more

Dr. Bui is fantastic. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. It is a very quick but thorough exam. The frustration lies with the front desk staff. I had recently moved and informed the office of my new contact number when I went in for my visit. I ordered a pair a glasses and was told they would be ready on a week. After a few weeks I called to see what the delay was. They said my glasses were back ordered and they were still waiting on the insurance. Another two weeks pass and still nothing. I called again and they tell me they weren't able to contact me. They never updated my telephone number, even though I verbally told them when I went in and it is on the form I filled out during my visit. The front desk was very dismissive and did not seem to care. I will still return because Dr. Bui is great, but I will not buy any glasses again. Very frustrating experience. read more

Had my eye exam done and frame and lenses purchased a little over half a year ago. Service was great, and the whole process went very smoothly. They have many frames available, and fortunately they accepted my vision insurance. Visited them again recently, and service was just as great and very accommodating. Just got home from this office and have to write this raving review (not so much)! I had ordered contacts here last week and they were the wrong ones (very uncomfortable btw) They have everything on file... how can it be the wrong one? Anyhow we are both at fault. I did not think to check before leaving the office. I noticed when I opened the bag the next day that they were the wrong brand, but I was DESPERATE. Called the office ASAP and let them know what had happened. The girl I spoke to was very nice and accommodating, stating that I would not owe anything for the open boxes when I got there. That was not the case when I got there today. I requested they show me the price difference of the old brand (year supply) and new brand (3 month supply). Turns out there was a $50 difference I should be refunded/credited. The girl stated that the office would not be reimbursed for the "damaged" boxes so my $50 is put towards that... had they told me this over the phone I would not be so upset. I requested to purchase more boxes if that would somehow work out the $50 on both part and she said no... I contacted Lenscrafter and Pearle Vision (known for bad service) and they said they would credit me for my purchase because both were at fault... I hate to bad mouth this place because I loved Dr.Bui, but like other yelpers have stated... Go there for Dr.Bui but stay away from purchasing here. Very unknowledgeable/rude people. read more
