A fiend was visiting on a tight schedule from Shenzhen, China. (3.5 days over a weekend). He needed new glasses (with extreme subscription = glass bricks). I call Umberto on Friday. Umberto says difficult, but we shall try. Buddy walks in Friday early afternoon. Picks two frames. Needs bricks - cannot call them just glasses. Umberto says Monday afternoon if we are lucky. The prescription is extreme. Monday 2PM - All done. And don't even have/need a Godfather for enforcement. Great frames, great service and great craftsmanship. I was pleasantly surprised with these guys. My usual were doctor couldn't see me for months, due to covid I assume. I was looking for a closer eye doctor anyway since mine was a hike. The last time I tried I ended up at a place that cared more about selling than my eye care. I won't name the place but they wouldn't allow me to take my prescription anywhere else for contacts or glasses. I had to buy them there for 3 times the price according to them. It was a huge ordeal and I'm glad that's over. Different story here! I made an appointment online for a few days out. Pretty seamless process. Upon exam they were very concerned about covid and had all precautions in place. Contact lens Exam was great and they even made me glasses in 5 minutes! Very friendly and courteous group of people. I had to pay out of pocket for a routine exam- 92$. Super affordable. If you pay 10$/month for vision insurance, you have paid more than you would for the routine eye exam for the year. He emailed the script to me so I could find glasses online that would be cheap but there was a pair that he fitted me for - including lenses- was 200$. I was much happier getting a pair of glasses that were ready next day and about the same price as what I would be paying online. They helped me pick out my glasses quickly and the eye exam was quite speedy as well. I'll feel confident going back to them and I recommend this business to anyone who needs glasses quickly. EDIT: They were very apologetic about the timing mishap and offered to refund the shipping charge. They were also prompt in providing a solution when my rebate for contact lenses was rejected due to missing information on the receipt. They are good when it comes to correcting their mistakes. Changed back to 5 stars from 2 stars. - My eye exam went well. They took the time to examine everything and gave me helpful info regarding my contacts. Prices are decent too depending on which contacts you get. I asked for overnight delivery ($10) and they called to make sure that was possible. They called me too the next day to let me know the contacts are in. However, I came in around 5:30 PM and doors were locked, lights off. Phone went straight to voicemail. I came in the following morning around 10:45 AM and same situation. Hours of operation says 10a-6p. I am sitting here in my car without my contacts, having made two trips here already and it's looking like I'll have to make a third. Was the overnight delivery worth it? Probably not, if I can't count on the store being open when it's posted hours of operation says it should be open. Otherwise, this would have been a five star review. Word of advice: Call ahead. I would recommend staying away from this place. More than a hassle. The owner is a true salesman and will try to buddy up to you in an effort to make some $. Once you get the weird vibe from someone, WALK AWAY. I wish I did. I wasted too much of my valuable time (&money!) here. My glasses, which I ended up having to return 3 times!!! are the worst glasses I've ever had in my life. They are way too big for my face and consistently fall down my nose. Someone who is trained to fit people for glasses should have not urged me to purchase these. And they are WAY TOO expensive! This was the first time I had insurance that covered glasses, yet I ended up paying the same amount as I used to without it! I've never experienced such a pushy salesman in my life (think skeezy car salesman who will fling numbers at you like a monkey flings poo, and talk as fast as the Hotwheels toy car commercial guy to try and put one over on you). I purchased a LivingSocial deal (I paid $50 to get $250 towards glasses) and figured that would get me close to a complete pair of glasses. WRONG! Majorly wrong! Their prices are insanely overpriced (you know they're jacked up when the salesman says he'll drop $100 from the price of the frames and it's STILL too expensive). I would have had to drop another $275+ to get a pair of desent glasses. In order to make the sale he kept trying to convince my wife and I that his prices were the cheapest around, which is a flat out lie (the company I work for has an optometry dept. & their prices are definitely cheaper). Normally I'd just get my glasses at my work but I thought I got myself a deal with the LivingSocial deal. Great googly moogly was I mistaken. I left without buying anything and promptly returned my LivingSocial deal. If you want to pay WAY more for trendy glasses than anyone in their right mind should, then this place is for you. He purchased a deal online for $__ for $___ (I can't remember the exact amounts or what site he used), so that's how we found out about Rosetti. Luckily for us, it is very close to where we live, so we were able to just scoot out of work a bit early to check things out. Umberto was incredibly helpful in choosing glasses that were going to be a good fit and value, even pointing out differences between Bryan's current regular glasses and the quality of what Rosetti offers- who knew there were so many nuances in picking out quality glasses?! Prior optometry visits have left me feeling embarrassed about having terrible vision. Like I actually DID something to make my vision worse. Not at Rossetti. The Dr. was friendly, informative and sympathetic to my "handicap." I didn't have to wait to see the Dr when I had an appointment, like I had to (for over an HOUR) at my last optometrist's (EVERY TIME). The Dr. let me know where I was misinformed by my last optometrist and worked very hard to make sure I received the very best Rx, even taking out extra lenses to see which miniscule difference would be optimal. He also gave me a lot of free daily wear contacts to try out. The selection of glasses (which I apparently have to wear sometimes, instead of just contacts) was decent and many frames suited my face. Harvard Pilgrim insurance gives some good percentage discounts there as well. I did end up paying more than I thought I would, but, that's life, right? Especially when your glasses Rx is -13. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get great eyeball care! read more

I found this place via yelp and decided to pay a visit because it had good reviews, and lo and behold, every review is pinpoint accurate! The owner was more than helpful and very friendly. You can clearly tell that he has his customer's best interests in mind. In terms of pricing, I can't really comment because I have no basis to judge lens + frame prices on, but I'm going to assume that his prices are indeed cheap. The service was amazing, friendly and helpful vs feeling like he was trying to make a sale. If they don't have what you want they will order it. The owner actually spent a great deal of time with me. I was really amazed at the service they provide. He even spent time helping me to learn how to do contacts when I mentioned I had tried in the past and could not do them. His 30 minutes were more helpful then the past doctors office I had tried with. He was able to point out where the issues were. I never felt rushed in fact I felt guilty he even stayed past closing time. It is hard to find this level of service. I recommend calling first. I want my 45 dollars. I needed an eye exam and made an appt through their website for Saturday at 1:00. This was a "2nd opinion" exam, the one I had a month earlier (elsewhere) led to a prescription that wasn't correct. Not having had 2 exams in the same year before I didn't know that insurance wouldn't cover the 2nd one. The receptionist, Christine, informed me of this when I arrived, saying the cost for a comprehensive exam would be about $100 out of pocket. I told her I didn't need a comprehensive exam, just had one a month ago, just wanted to get a new prescription. She said in that case they could do a shorter version, called a "refractive exam" and that it would cost $50. (If she hadn't offered that I would have turned and walked out because I knew of 2 other shops that would have done the shorter exam.) So I agreed to that. She took me into the exam room, did some basic testing, and left. Then Boris came in, did some more testing, and wrote the prescription (no eye drops, no dilation). I proceeded out to the front and started looking at frames. A little guy named Umberto introduced himself and I described what I was looking for. He starts shoving pair after pair of rectangular frames at me even though I told him I didn't want rectangular frames. Boris comes out and tries to explain to him that I need something called "office glasses" which are like progressives but with less range. Then he and Umberto start bickering, and Umberto tries to overrule Boris. Then they go into another room and bicker some more. Then they come back, Umberto asks me more questions, looks at my prescription again, and they start bickering some more. It was a ball of confusion, and dizzying. And in the back of my head I'm thinking "confusion is a sales tactic." Meanwhile, it's like 2:25 and I have to leave or I'm gonna be late for work (on a day when I couldn't be late for work). So I gathered up my stuff while actively breaking off the sales talk. That's when they told me it would be $95. I was stunned. I said, Wait, Christine offered me a refractive exam for $50. But Boris wouldn't budge. I thought, there's no way he understands what happened, otherwise he wouldn't be doing this. I decided to contact them later to reason it out, and I unfortunately had cash on me, which I paid. When I called on Monday, Boris implied I was a liar and just threw a bunch of words at me, the essence of which was, "Sucks to be you." read more

After doing some pretty hardcore homework on various eyeglasses discounts in the area, I ended up buying a pair of designer "Modo" frames and lenses here for just over 200 dollars IN TOTAL. They work beautifully, look great and I am overall thrilled with them. I settled on Rossetti Optique after viewing the selections of about 5 different places offering Amazon Local/Groupon/Living Social discounts in greater Boston. I then bought an Amazon Local voucher, ordered the pair I had my eye on and got my glasses only about four days after sending my Rx. I thought I had a Groupon deal, but these people bumped the prices up, so in fact I had no discounts thru Groupon - Shady business! The pushy sales man didn't help with my insurance questions. He kept pushing the most expensive glasses, despite the fact that I had repeatedly told him I was on a budget. I ended up having to purchase less than desirable glasses for a very expensive price. The optometrist was very robotic. I felt she used my previous prescription and went from there, she did not really wanted to find out my actual prescription. I still feel the glasses are a bit weak. So I decided to research some more, which I should of have done prior to going to Rossetti Optique, I concluded that I would saved a lot more and gotten much nicer glasses if I had gone somewhere else, even without the Groupon deal. They were also very disorganized with with placing my order on a timely fashion and and they forgot to call me as they should have. I had to call them 3 times after I hadn't heard from them in 10 days. They could clearly see how upset I was, but they weren't very apologetic. I will not be shopping there again, and I do not recommend them. read more

I found Rossetti Optique on Yelp about a month ago and decided to give a smaller place a try, as opposed to going to a Pearle or Lenscrafters. I have been to the big places and I always feel like I'm bothering the people there, and when they help me I feel like they tell me every frame looks good, just to hurry me along. Anyways, booked an eye appt for my two kids. They LOVED the Dr. and were at ease right away. She explained everything to us and my daughter ended up with glasses and my son was given some 'homework' - he has a slight lazy eye and the Dr showed my son an exercise to do to strengthen his eye muscle and she asked him to come back in a couple of months so she could check on him. My daughter got beautiful glasses and she bent them on the second day. We went back and Umberto was so nice and straightened them out in 2 minutes and we were on our way. Then she bent them again. This time it was a bad bend. We went back in and the frame was swapped out for a sturdier one for a kid. I was embarrassed and felt bad about being an annoying customer, but only for a second. I knew I had picked the best place for us. One week later, I slept in my contacts, as usual, but woke up and my eyes were hurting. Took the contacts out and the pain was still there. I went outside and I couldn't handle the sun or air on my open eyes. It was a Thursday and I was expected in CT in a few hours. I chanced it and drove over to Rossetti before driving myself to the hospital. The doc was in and she rushed me into the exam room and confirmed that my eyes were swollen and the fact that they hurt made sense. She gave me a steroid drop and strict instructions on when to do them. Then she gave me her card for me to call her if any problems came up over the weekend. I couldn't believe how lucky I was that I went there. Long story short, I just ordered MY glasses and some boxes of contacts and plan to go to Rossetti as long as I live in this area. They are SO nice, so happy to please the customer, and the place just has a comfortable feel. And as far as the glasses costing more at one of the smaller places - I found that I paid what I expected to pay for glasses. And I got the added bonus of superior service. I was visiting Boston and forgot my contacts. I called around early in the morning. The doctor called me from his cell phone and told me to come on in. I couldn't get there until lunch time and he still took the time to get me some contacts. I was in and seeing agin within ten minutes.
