The food was 10/10! Our service was really great, thank you Sean for your great serving attitude and helping my hubby and I decide what to order. The ambiance is 10/10! I like the quaint feel of the restaurant and sitting at the sushi bar is really nice. We will be back for sure.

This place is fantastic. I love their menu. Service is great. I would eat there everyday if I could! I wish they would bring back another lunch day...Thursday maybe!

My sushi and sashimi combo with two fish of the day.

Visiting Columbia, SC for the weekend and stumbled across this wonderful restaurant near our accommodation. It's apparently popular with the locals and we had some friendly folks help us out with getting our names written down because they were busy. Being a Friday night we probably waited 20-25mins to be seated. They offer the sushi bar or tables, we opted for either and got the sushi bar which was great because we got front row seats to the fish on display that the chefs use for the dishes. I got myself an Asahi Draught and my wife got a green tea. Both fresh and delicious. Our waitress was very nice. The food was delightful and very flavorful. Sushi and sashimi combos, with some salad and a soup. We topped it off with some dessert - which for any sweet tooth fans out there, I highly recommend. And it was all quite cheap. We were very impressed with everything and highly recommend folks try this place.

So good and so unassuming, in the same plaza as the dmv, we got too gyudon bowls one with beef and one with pork, plenty of soup on the bottom maybe just a little less for ratio balance... The sushi chefs are very friendly and has been around for a while... I felt like you can taste the difference and the authenticity, can't wait to go back to get some sushi and rolls!

This little gem is the best kept secret in Columbia for sushi. The sushi is phenomenal. Upon entry, you're greeted and quickly taken to a table. My glass was always filled, the appetizers were prompt, and the sushi was excellent. It's well lit and has a family feel to it. I'm also a sucker for a food story, which is on the front of the menu. Please go in a check it out and pay your respect to the head man in charge. You can find him behind the sushi bar providing excellent service! This is the only place I go to for sushi and I recommend it to anyone! Enjoy!

Atmosphere isn't very inviting and we had a wait. Ended up at sushi bar next to a couple clearly on their first date. Sushi was good. I was just told this place was amazing so had to try it and wasn't overly impressed. Maybe it was talked up too much. My rock'n roll was delicious! Flower roll was pretty but lacked much flavor. Husband enjoyed his rainbow roll and (black or red, he couldn't remember) dragon roll.

From the outside, it's a plain building with a plain sign. From the inside? Amazing. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. All the staff that I met were very friendly. We had a server named Nathan who was so patient, explained some of the menu items to us and even offered us some recommendations. The food will not disappoint! The sushi is fresh and prepared beautifully. We had the Godzilla roll, Firecracker roll, black dragon roll, and takoyaki maki. I didn't think I would like the red pickled ginger on the takoyaki maki, but I was wrong. Definitely takes it up a notch. One thing I really liked was that my sushi was brought out one roll at a time. We got to taste and experience one roll before jumping to the next. I can't wait to go back. There were so many other options that I wanted to try.

This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Columbia, hands down. There are some decent places out there, but this is the winner. The service is always fast and friendly, and the waitstaff knows the menu very well for people like me who are not exactly sushi experts. The restaurant is quiet, with low music playing in the background. The perfect place to go have a nice dinner and conversation. This is also my son's favorite restaurant! Enjoy!

As someone who has not had alot of sushi but wants to try new things, what suggestions do you all have about trying things here? I can't wait to go to this restaurant!

You can't go wrong with the Red Dragon it's a tempura fried tuna roll served with raw tuna on top with a tangy vinaigrette sauce and scallions on top. It is so delicious I have never seen anyone that has tried it dislike it in anyway!

The menu is a lot but a good type of a lot with many choices. I ended up getting the Mr. ALLI-G Roll and the Red Snapper Bowl. Well welll well ... yelp family this Alli-G Roll we better than expected lol ... fried to perfection. Also the gator wasn't over cooked ... you can tell the preparers take their time and every dish has a different touch of excellence. Now for the Snapper Bowl .... I highly recommend ... the food bowl was delivered and I could still se the steam which I loved ... all the veggies were fresh fresh you could taste it. The snapper was amazing also. This spot leaves the extra seasoning up to you ... BUT your table has a bottle of yum yum sauce and you don't have to keep asking. Most importantly they are not stingy on the portions. I had half of my sushi rolls left and half of my bowl. Kudos to the staff also with the recommendations and setting the expectation of the dishes. They also worked as a team ... one waiter didn't see our drinks on the table and immediately asked if we put our order in. This was def worth the 35 min drive from the other side of town be sure to check them out. And another round of applause for the staff. I'll be back SOON .

From the moment we stepped inside, the experience completely shifted. The interior is truly spectacular--quiet, intimate, and thoughtfully designed. The space is petite yet incredibly intentional, and it immediately evokes the feeling of being transported to Japan. While I've never personally been to Japan, this restaurant genuinely took me out of a Western setting and placed me into what felt like a Japanese dining experience. Each table is sectioned off with dividers, which adds a layer of privacy while still maintaining an open, welcoming atmosphere that reminds you that you're still in the United States. It's a perfect balance between intimacy and accessibility, and it contributes greatly to the overall ambiance. I ordered the karaage meal, which came with a cabbage salad and rice. At first, I was concerned it might not be enough food, but it ended up hitting the spot in ways I didn't expect. While I could have eaten more, I was genuinely satisfied and comfortable by the end of the meal, which speaks volumes about the quality and balance of the dish. When placing my order, I also requested soup and mentioned to our server that I had been coughing earlier. Even though I wasn't actively coughing in the restaurant, she went out of her way to bring me hot tea to help soothe my throat. That level of care and attentiveness went well beyond expectations. She was incredibly polite, well-mannered, and made sure we felt genuinely taken care of throughout our visit. The value here is outstanding--not just for the food, but for the service, atmosphere, and overall experience. Everything comes together seamlessly, and it truly feels like a home run. There was no long wait to be seated; we walked in, told them how many people were in our party, and were seated promptly. For dessert, I ordered the matcha cheesecake. I went in with certain expectations based on what I was used to, and while it leaned more toward a New York-style cheesecake flavored with matcha rather than a traditional Japanese-style cheesecake, it was still very enjoyable and well-executed. Overall, everything--from the value and location to the food, service, and atmosphere--was excellent. I would absolutely recommend this place and plan to return the next time I'm back in town. I'm looking forward to trying more items on the menu and bringing more friends along with me. A sincere thank you to the young lady who went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience.

I have mixed feelings…read more I ordered a ramen soup with pork. It tasted 'ok'. Not the worst I've had, not the best. I was happy to try it though. What I didn't really like was their policy of charging money for tap water. You don't expect this in America. I went to their soda machine to get some water, thinking there would be some cheap $0.01 plastic cups, and that's when I saw a sign saying you have to pay for water. NOT what I expected after ordering and paying for a ramen soup. I asked if there was any way to get a free cup of water, thinking maybe they kept the cups behind the counter, and they said no, you have to buy a cup for the tap water. In my mind, if you have to nickle and dime us $0.50 for tap water, you're doing things wrong as a business. Charge what you have to so people don't have to ask about paying money for tap water and you don't have to put up stupid signs saying you have to pay for water. I mean, come on. That looks SO PETTY and CHEAP! This place was so low life, they even had signs saying don't sit down until you order something taped on the walls all around the restaurant. That really made it look cheap. Where am I, China? Pakistan? Didn't feel like Japan... and certainly didn't feel like America. I didn't try to use the restroom. I don't know if they charge a fee for that... or the toilet paper... I think we as a society need to strongly push back against this type of 'fee' trend in restaurants. Yea, it's their business and they can run it the way they want, but I can also give a poor review and not come back. Your choice. I would of tipped the worker $3-4 based on service. Instead I was charged $0.50 and won't come back.
